Classification: Nanovirus.
Method of Consumption: Inhalation, Ingestion and Osmosis.
Average Life: Indefinitely - Dormant State; Instantaneous Consumption - Active State.
Nutritional Value/Allergies/Side Effects/ Purpose: Extremely selective viral agent that’s tailored to a single target and their genetic heritage; No adverse effects to anyone outside the engineered parameters.

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Genetically Engineered Nanovirus.
  • Multiple States - Gaseous Vapour, Infested Liquid.
Strengths:
  • Genome Nanokiller: Specifically tailored to Khonsu Amon’s original genetic makeup, this Nanokiller targets anyone bearing his genome and eliminates them by rapidly accelerating their aging process; turning them into withered old men within a matter of hours and desiccated corpses by the end of the day.
  • Unseen Killer: Due to the microscopic properties of the nanovirus, the deployed agent would be capable of moving about unseen by all but the most advanced and specialized sensors and filters; as the virus was inert until activated within the target creature and thus was all but invisible.
Weaknesses:
  • Selective Killer: As this was genetically tailored to a single individual and their corresponding genetic markers, there was no chance that the nano-virus could harm or affect anyone that bore Khonsu’s unaltered physiology.
  • Dispersal Requirements: While the virus could exist in multiple states, they still required a delivery method in order to be effective against their specifically intended target. Thus, this virus could be intercepted en route to its destination and rendered completely ineffective; especially if detected by advanced, and specialized sensors.
DESCRIPTION

Nanoviruses, or colloquially known as Nanokillers, were potent tools in the assassination trade as they could be specifically tailored to target either an entire species, entire lineages of sentient beings, or individuals themselves. However, they weren’t deployed or produced en-masse due to their notorious difficulty in identifying and isolating a singular genome, that would effectively trigger the virus to attack. In addition, there was an inherent weakness encoded into the nanokillers that made them vast wastes of resources if the intended subject went through mutation, interbreeding, or genetically engineered countermeasures. Yet, there was a possibility that those weaknesses could be averted through scientific foresight that ensured the virus would attack, by targeting an unchanging gene sequence; which would make the target, or targets, stand out from the greater populace.

The most notable example of these lethal viruses was the FG-36 that was developed by the Separatists during the Clone Wars to kill the Clones that were spawned from the genome of Jango Fett. Such a weapon would give the Confederacy of Independent Systems an overwhelming advantage in the early stages of the War, as when the viral agent moved towards mass-production, they’d utterly cripple the Galactic Republic’s ability to wage war by killing the entirety of their Cloned Army. As fate would have it, however, a highly-trained unit of Republic Commandos caught wind of this dangerous initiative in its infancy and captured the research team that was responsible for developing the virus. It wasn’t until after the Clone Wars had ended and the Galactic Empire rose in its place, that the seized bio-weapons were utilized to bring an errant world into compliance.

From there? Unlisted variants of nano-viruses were used throughout the galaxy, seeking to eliminate targets in the cruellest, and invisible way possible. Such radical advancements in bioengineering were thought lost when the light of civilization was snuffed out by the encroaching plague. Yet, during an armed expedition to some nameless backwater world - a team of Arkanian scientists found themselves in possession of sealed canisters that contained a dormant strain of a nanovirus; rumoured to be akin to the plague that brought four hundred years of darkness across the stars. Supposedly, with such an alleged weapon in their hand, the Arkanian Expedition wept with joy as they found themselves holding onto a piece of history and would be able to exclusively study it.

Thus, after carefully removing it from that nameless world and bringing it to their deep-space black site, they began testing the virus; learning of its capabilities and molecular structure in the hopes of engineering their own variant.

Mirroring the events of the past, however, a Cohort of Thyrsian Sun Guard caught wind of this madness and stormed the research station. They subdued the Expedition and vented the spinal corridors into space after one of the Rogue Geneticists sought to use the virus to defend the station from falling into the Golden Company’s hands. With the crisis averted, and the virus forced to exist in the vacuum of space, the Gilded Warriors made copies of the research and purged the system. It was their wish that such evils would never be studied by anyone - save for the Mercenaries themselves. As they began initiating the self-destruct sequence, several of the more sane individuals of the Arkanian offered their services to the Sun Guard; in the vain hopes of saving their lives from being consigned to await their doom. Surprisingly, one of the Sun Guard accepted this offer -- knowing how well these white-haired scientists were at their chosen vocation. That man stated it would’ve been a waste if they perished when instead they could’ve been put to better use.

It was Khonsu Amon who brought those Rogue Geneticists into the fold, and it would be Khonsu Amon who would secretly task them with continuing their work; albeit with severe modifications to the nanomolecular structure. What the Thychani Commander wanted, was a nanovirus that would target his original genetic coding. The man ensured the secret that lay beneath his armoured form was kept out from the equation but mentioned that he had… mutated from fighting beneath the radiation choked skies of Eshan. Therefore, there was little danger of the virus backfiring from its intended purpose and killing the Primary Host. Through using his primordial genome, those Arkanian Geneticists were left to complete the herculean task of finishing their interrupted work, which resulted in the aptly named Umsindo weLanga, or the Wrath of the Sun in the Thyrsian tongue.

Through his secret teachings of the Sith, Khonsu had learned the truth behind how the Galactic Alliance fell; a fact which few truly knew until well after the grand betrayal. Because of his dreams, and his rising ambitions, the Thyrsian couldn’t allow for such a magnificent act of treachery to occur within the ranks of his followers. With his template still in the hands of a corporation, which turned out to be headed by the very same woman who stabbed the Galactic Alliance in the back? Well, one can only imagine what went through Khonsu’s mind. The man needed an ace in the hole, should the weaponized copies of himself ever be deployed against him, or his forces. The Umsindo weLanga provided that necessary edge and would safeguard the man’s aspirations for the future.

The nanovirus, in many ways, operated in a similar fashion to the FG36 - whereas the cloned copies of Khonsu Amon would suffer an instantaneous rapid acceleration in growth. They would become venerable wretches within hours, and perish from old age by the end of the day. As the nanovirus was genetically keyed to Khonsu’s genome, it would remain in a dormant state indefinitely -- until coming into contact with a Cloned Thyrsian Soldier. Then, when it’s engineered target was located, the lifetime would dramatically deplete and the symptoms would be mirrored by the unwitting incubator. They’d die a slow, and cruel death; shrivelling up like fruit left out under the Sun’s gaze to dry.

Such was the fate of any, who bore the likeness of Khonsu and took up arms against the confraternity of the Sun Guard.

A very specific and limited use, well written and researched. I love this submission, and it perfectly adheres to how Nanotechnology should be used.

Enjoy the protection against Khonsu clones...or you know any future children working against you. Looks like I'll need to find another warrior to use as the template for my clone army.
