Made from his time on Jakku, Cao Cao found a old sport ball sized meteorite (even though it could've been old wreckage) in the desert one day. Wanting to make something of it he brought it back to his home Forge and went to work. Using his skills in smithing he was able to Forge out a rather large blade fit enough for his size as well as a smaller one to compliment it for closer combat or when employing a dual fighting style. Wishing to employ a dual fighting style with them.
Later when it was completed Cao learned of the Force ability to imbue a weapon with the Force practically making it as effective as a Jedi's or Sith's ligthsaber, increasing its overall performance radically. Because he believed the martial of this sword to come form space he named it Umbra, meaning the darkest part of a shadow.
