Two of a Kind

Valae Kitra stood in the courtyard of the Silver Temple. The Jedi healer was not wearing her brown robes today, but a comfortable outfit of a cotton shirt, simple trousers, and hiking boots. On her back there was a rucksack, and in her was curled around the handle of a picnic basket that was stuffed with so much food that the cover wouldn’t close properly. She didn’t know much about her new apprentice’s lunch-time appetite, but she knew her own, and she’d packed accordingly.

She had met [member="Carona Totsari"] at a recent orientation of new additions to the Silver Jedi. Though the young woman could not utter a word, Valae had felt something of a connection to her. And so, she wanted to take the opportunity to get to know Carona better. Instead of traditional training scenario, Valae thought it might be nice to get away for the afternoon.

There was a lovely trail near the temple; it was a leisurely walk – perfect for such a nice day.

Drawing in a deep breath, Valae turned her chestnut eyes skyward, and waited with a patient smile.

Carona Totsari

It takes true strengh to turn the other cheek
As the wind blew softly, leaves gliding upon the air waves, the young woman walking down the trail closed her eyes, smelling the crisp and charming air. Carona usually was not prone to straying this far from the Jedi Temple, but as a Padawan she knew she would be headed way farther soon. With a backpack full of spare snacks, emergency protein bars, and her growth medication as well as medical records, she walked towards the direction her mentor instructed her to meet her.

Carona had her casual wear on today. Brown pants and boots, a cream shirt, and her blue hoodie wrapped around her waist. Her pack was slung onto her bag, her medical bracelet on her left wrist.

She finally saw her mentor up ahead! Good thing, as her energy level had dropped significantly. A sigh of relief softly sounded, a smile crossing the girl's face. The togruta was panting by the time she reached, using the proper Jedi bow the best she could, Greetings, @Master Kitra.

Valae grinned as she spotted Carona walking towards her, and she bowed in return. “Hi there, Carona.” She said with a nod. It looked like her apprentice was ready to go, dressed very appropriately, and stocked with supplies. The sun was shining high above them in the sky, but there was still plenty of daylight left for their trek to the lake and back.

“Well, ready to go?” She asked, canting her head to the side.

As they set off down the trail, the trees gave them some shade as they walked. It was a path meant for casual hikers, so it was fairly level and easy to travel. For a long moment, Valae just walked next to her new apprentice, and got used to the feeling of the Togruta’s presence within the force. Already she could tell that Carona was gifted in the force, and she sensed something about the young woman that reminded her very much of her younger self.

“It’s a nice day, isn’t it?” She turned slightly, starting off with some small talk. “So, what’s your story? Tell me a little bit about yourself.” Valae said, and finished with a warm smile.
