Two Girls... One Fleet

Sala'dine

Admiral of the Ghost Fleet
[member="Alva Calvarona"] @Galactic Empire

The empire was quite a nice place to be and they had even gotten her a new body with eyes that could see while she crossed her arms. THe few soldiers who remained from when she was one of the admirals with Kisep stood on the bridge as her most trusted crew. They were heading towards a practice ground in their new home while her attention was on the ships they had. She could ge to practice and dust off the cobwebs of controlling a fleet and the Imperial officers would get a chance t practice. She wasn't going to argue with trying to help the others and ahve them be ready for action. "THis is officer Sala'Dine, thank you for coming out to help princess Calvarona. Under Empress Fel I am pleased to christen these mock battle grounds."

Appearing at the designated location for their naval wargames, Alva couldn't really contain her smile as she answered the communications from the Imperial Officer on the other end, a reputable Admiral who had served in several galactic powers navies apparently, a Lady Sala'dine. "Of course Admiral, I'm glad to be of service. Its actually rather pleasant to have someone to perform these practice maneuvers with. The Fleet is the most widely active section of the military, but that doesn't mean everyone is free when the itch comes to engage in simulations." It seemed as if this simulation was going to be a promising action as well. Sala'dine appeared to be favoring long range assault tactics for this sortie, at least that was what the crinan woman would assume was the case considering the Artillery Cruiser inherent in the Absolution class and the supporting carrier beside it. The same Crinan designed Carrier that sat next to the Crinan Destroyer acting as her command ship for their mock battle. "We are ready when you are Sala'dine."

Stela'shlit'nuruodo stood at the rear of the command deck of Admiral Sala'dine's flagship watching and evaluating her crew and the ship. As acting Chief of Sirat Wen System Defensive Operations, It was his responsibility to monitor any and all action in the Sirat Wen system. He was to monitor the engagement as a neutral third party and act only as an observer. He had chosen Admiral Sala'dines vessel because he was curious about the woman. He had heard many rumors and read the reports, but nothing short of seeing a warrior in battle would fully give him the insight he desired. He was a collector of opinion, a keeper of information and judgment. Now was his opportunity to gauge the female admiral and decide what he thought she was, not what he had heard or read about her.

"Very well, begin operation." She motioned with her hands as the silver gleaming soldiers and officers left over from her earlier commands and who had remained loyal to her stood at the ready. Getting on weapons and and screen while she moved around. "Target tractor beams on her hanger, wait to activate them and target what fighters come out when they are within range. Have all long range cannons target her engines I want those ships at the range of our long nines for as long as possible, set ion cannons to target their support vessels and have fighters launch at escape velocity as if they are retreating then come up and around." Her finger was working on the display of the battlefield while pointing out the plan as orders were being relayed. Her men shouting it before her face went blank and icy.

"Sound Klaxons, have everyone to their battle stations. Launch fighters and prep our defensive screen. Have Squadron leaders await further orders past that point. Have the gunnery crews prepare to fire once targeting has acquired firing solutions." Sitting back, Alva narrowed her gaze on the tactical display on the sensor board. The crew was already set to battle readiness as any war fleet ought to be when on deployment. Any group that wasn't was running a poor commander. As the trio of Crinan ships maneuvered into position with the missile frigate holding just behind and below the carrier and the larger cruisers sitting next to one another, the crinan woman did have a slight issue as she sighed watching the various TIE craft units move into their formation. Between the two fleets, the number of fighter craft would be relatively equal, seeing as how the Absolution that Sala'dine was running held a small hangar capacity, the same going for Alva's own Noble Class frigate. They each made up for the lacking in other ships, the Elliah Cruiser for the Admiral and Destroyer for the Crinan Princess.

It would come down to how their sweeps were and how their defenses were used. To be truthful, the blueprints of the Elliah were discouraging in that regard. It was heavily anti-fighter based, but contribute little to the capital ships engagement. However, if it wiped out their fighter screen and/or bombers and gave Sala'dine an immense advantage. It also prevented the Noble Class Frigate from leading the first salvo since those flak cannons could be a problem with missiles at long range. So as it was Alva was determined to get as close as possible, keeping the fighter screens and frigate behind her cruisers, and hopefully wait until Sala'dine sent her own fighter craft to engage her cruisers, then have her own TIEs sweep around to engage when the Elliah's cannons would be too close to use, and those that didn't have a minimum range would have trouble picking out targets in the ensuing dogfighting. Plus then the Noble Class would be able to use its missile salvos at a closer range where fewer could be shot down before impacting. That was the gambit though, could they close the gap before they took enough damage to pull it off. . . .or would Sala'dine's long range fire and initial fighter sweep shut down their plans?

She was watching Alva as she moved now on the screen keeping track of it before she was letting her eyes flick back and forth. "Continue long range bombardment and advance position of the fighters to divide and coming around. I want the engines of missile frigate targeted and it stalled a range." There were confirmations and chirps before she was directing. "Set up defensive screens here and here shielding double front and anti fighter defenses focused away from the shields. We want her fighters to feel secure we don't have the defense from a flanking assault." She had a plan and set more of it into motion. "Divert power from the engines and put it into the shields and weapons. Reverse at minimal sublight thrust to keep the distance from them while maintaining formation. Let her come to us and draw her in."

Moff Tanomas Graf sat on the bridge of the Crinan Destroyer stirring a cup of tea that he requested earlier, waiting for it to cool down and not burn his mouth, His eyes flickered for a moment as he looked out of the bridge towards Admiral Sala'dine's fleet. He chuckled to himself as he started to watch the battle unfold infront of him, "I must say captain, I find the design of the Crinan Destroyer to be quite nice, a change from the triangular Star Destroyers, though I will express my dismay at the lack of missile weaponry, but I'm sure the Noble-class will make up for that soon enough" He stated to the Crinan Princess, watching her give her orders to the crew as the klaxons started sounding.

He shifted comfortably in his chair and took a sip of his tea to find it was perfectly warm, he put the cup down after taking a long swig and noticed a few fighter squadrons in the distance, what they were going to do, he did not care, he would just watch and relax 'This will be a fantastic exercise, I hope I will get to do one once I receive a ship of my own.' He thought.

"You make a wise point dear Moff, however, I can understand the Crinan hesitancy to work missile weaponry into their cruisers. They relied on missile weaponry for a long time since they couldn't power Turbolasers efficiently, since they could after Imperial support it made makes sense they might overcompensate since they do have vessels with greater warhead firing capacity already." Keeping calm as Sala'dine's forces began opening fire, the Crinan princess evaluated the attack pattern displayed on the sensor suite. It appeared as they were trying to target the Noble Class, however, they weren't going to disable it so easily. It was sitting behind and under the Crinan Carrier, Sala'dine was going to have to devote her efforts to sweeping her forces wide or to dive down low in order to have clear firing solutions for it, and as Alva had every intention of closing the gap head on, she had no intention of allowing the other Imperial the time or space to try it.

"Open fire on their Absolution, it's the biggest target with the most firepower. Concentrate on its center mass, the reactor sits around there and unless they focus their shielding there we'll burn through it faster. If power signatures change we'll redirect fire to a new area. Keep an eye on the Carrier's shield status as well, if it drops too low alternate position with the destroyer to intercept the damage. Keep the fighters out of targeting view of their flak cannons, we want to conserve our fighter screen until we're close enough to have them engage their own bombers." It appeared as if Sala'dine were attempting to slow down her advance as well with reverse sublight thrusts, but they weren't going to outpace her forward motion, just add some time. . . . .it also didn't appear to be the fastest the Crinan carrier could travel at reverse sublight either, considering it was a design from her homeworld she was also using in this battle she felt secure knowing that, so the delay Sala'dine was adding was rather minimmal if she wasn't putting her full effort into dragging her approach out. . . . .but then if she wasn't putting her effort there, what was her fellow Imperial planning?

There was a look and she moved now wondering what the chiss behind her was planning while she looked towards the chrome clad soldiers. "Have your men prepared in one of the shuttles, it will be just like against the black hexes I want a team on her." There was a nod and he was moving while she looked at the holo and continued to work with the fighters as they were going down in opposite directions nearly. "Round up and prepare for flanking insertion. Target engines and stall her, we'll keep her distracted." Now she was looking over it while pointing. "Direct the fire towards the pricness herself, let them go across her bow and continue reverse thrust with shield facing forward." The firing arcs would have to go through her double fronted shields to get in towards the center as she was directing and using the holo. "Start upwards thrust to give her an underside shot and finish it off with cannons ready for her fighters to get between us."

Lash

Stela'shlit'nuruodo
Lash stood and walked around the edge of the command deck watching the crew as they worked to carry out the Admirals orders. He could tell the crew were well honed and drilled for just this situation. They worked proficiently and for the most part seemed like a very formidable crew. This was a testament to their loyalty to the admiral more than anything he assumed. She seemed like the type to demand complete loyalty from her subordinates. If she did so by threat or honor was something Lash had yet to determine. As he reached the forward displays he looked out at the ships in the distance and wondered how the Princess was doing on her ship. She was facing a far more formidable vessel and looked forward to the tactics she would use to counter the Admirals heavier big gun firepower. At a distance the Admiral had the advantage, but it seemed that would not be hers for long. He was waiting for the princess to use her advantage in medium ranged and Ion weapons, that would be when the battle really started.
