The Republic Commander stared impassively at the viewport of the shuttle as the growing shape of the shipyards over Voss came more clearly into view, becoming closer and closer as the trio aboard the shuttle made their approach. Turning his attention down to the datapad in his hand, Dalenn Thayne pushed up his falling glasses as the light glinted off them so that he could better read the files on the screen's display. He took a moment pouring over the contents of the data before commenting on what he saw. "It's been a while since we saw a new product out of Rendili Stardrive, I was beginning to fear they weren't going to continue supplying us since the Sith invaded their world. Hearing that they have stations outside the Sith's influence on their headquarters was good news. Perhaps more so since they seem to have a new warship for us. Took them long enough to inform us, but I suppose losing contact with their CEO put things into a mess for them. Shall I go over the schematics once more before we take her home Admiral?"

Sanya had sat in the back of the shuttle knowing this mission was important and Camilla was a good friend. she still owed her for the investment into her company and her ship, this was only a step of been able to repay the debt. knowing even under sith control she was doing everything in her power to aid the republic brought her a little ease that they had not fully gain control over the assets of rendili.

Sanya only knew one of the men by reputation with his efforts in command of starships. as for Dallen he was a mistory to her. although he was right it was good news there was still bits of her company outside sith space. even though the conversation wasn't directed to her she still had something to say. "well with her company been under sith rule she has to be careful with communication, if they caught wind of this then I'd have to fear the worst. even stage a rescue operation, but we have to look at the positive at least we got informed about the warship before sith found out."

"It is good to see Rendili still building warships for the Republic," mused the blonde man.

Rendili warships were often at the heart to a Republic fleet. The One Sith had dealt a severe blow by taking Rendili during the events of the Netherworld, but he was glad that at least elements of the company continued to work for the Republic. Hopefully, they'd be able to free the company from the One Sith's clutches, and the admiral would find that most fitting from the bridge of a Rendili-built warship, especially one built by the "free" faction of the company. He turned his gaze upon [member="Dallen Thayne"].

"Yes, I would like that," said the admiral, "sometimes I find myself forgetting things that I should really know more about."

Someone seemed to have been slightly mistaken, but Dallen could understand their feelings a little. It was always hard to take when a comrade was captured and no one could get ahold of them, the officer supposed the Jedi must have crossed paths with Rendili Stardrive at one point. "Actually Ms. Swift has nothing to do with this. The ship was approved by her, but prior to Rendili's capture. Its conquest happened so soon after the design was left in lockdown and never put into production. The managers for the Voss and Shri-Tal shipyards are the ones who brought the information to us. I suppose they didn't want all the hard work put into the design to go to waste."

Trying to hurry, Dallen could see they were getting close to the station now and wasn't going to keep the Admiral waiting. "The design in question is the return of the Centurion model battlecruiser. At first glance nothing seems to be too terribly different, however, its armaments have been increased heavily. Bearing thirty six heavy turbolaser batteries, eighteen heavy ion cannon batteries, eighteen concussion missile launchers, eighty eight heavy laser cannons, and one hundred and ten point defense emplacements. The majority of the weapons are on the dorsal side, but a number are split Ventral as well. The slant of the ship enables all weapons to be fired forward, something we can enjoy greatly, and their spread let's hit most enemies within their vicinity above and below. However, the real point of this design is that it is meant as an Interdictor/Carrier. On the bottom of the hull toward the rear you can see where the extending bubble for the gravity well generator is housed, and is mostly the reason for the fewer weapons on the ventral side. The reports say that while the generator is up, as is common, missiles are unable to be fired due to the gravity distortion that would divert all trajectories including the enemy's, weapon systems power will cut in half, and the ship will be practically immobile. As such the primary effect of the ship's defense is not its weapons, but its extensive hanger, located on the Ventral side, towards the middle of the vessel. It carries a large number of squadrons, between eight and ten is the estimate, with which to launch and provide cover for itself and allied ships. Aside from these its last feature is a Hyperwave Inertia Momentum Sustainer, or HIMS system, which makes it immune itself to enemy Interdictor Fields."

Gir nodded as [member="Dallen Thayne"] described the warship. It would certainly fulfill a unique role in the Republic Navy, especially since the lacking interdictor cruisers. The republic had obtained a handful of Privateer-class Frigates that were used for customs duty and to hunt down lightly armed criminals that crossed into Republic space, but it really wasn't suited to survive in full-scale fleet battles. They had pressed several older interdictor designs into duty, but they too were beginning to show their age against the modern forces of the One Sith.

On the other hand, the aggressive-looking Centurion-class seemed more than up for the task. The rows of weaponry along its weaponry provided far more firepower than most interdictor designs, yet it was to the point where it was a waste of precious war material, as say in the Interdictor-class Star Destroyer made by KDY. Rendili had built a ship that likely would make the other interdictors currently in use obsolete within the Republic. Its star destroyer-like hull would soon likely replace all of the currently used interdictors, except those in the most backwater regions of the Republic.

"It looks like we're almost there," noted the man, "how long do you think it will be to get the ship ready to leave the station?"

As they began entering the station's hanger bay at last, the Republic Commander merely looked back to the Admiral with a blank expression. Not that the Supreme Commander of the Republic had asked a bad question, but actually because Dallen wasn't quite sure how to answer the other man. "Well Admiral Quee. . . . .its ships, they've already begun production so that they're ready for us to use. From what I hear, each yard here within the safety of the Silver Jedi's territory has completed one already each. And are working on more. They've put together crews of their employees who handle prototype runs, they'll man the ships to Republic Yards, and then we'll put our own people on it. They want us aboard the first one here to officially take possession of the produced units."

sanya stood from her chair after listening to the two men talk. she tried to stay out most of the conversation, but alot of this information fascinated her. she may not seem it but she liked to tinker with vehicle and loved to pilot them.

Sanya had alot of experience in a cockpit and a bridge of a ship, probably not as much as the two she had accompanied. she looked over to Dallen with a grin on her face. "so what are we waiting for let's get a move on boys." in a playful tone of voice. "although I'm curios how do you think she will perform?" the question was implied to both of them and it was all speculation at the moment.

"The devil is always in the details," agreed the blonde man to [member="Dallen Thayne"]'s thoughts, "but hopefully Rendili can keep them coming in at a good rate."

They continued deeper into the station to its hangar bay. The admiral's thoughts were preoccupied by how such a ship could be used. It certainly had an unusual combination of strengths, but both of which were needed by the Republic Defense Forces, that Gir guessed that there hadn't really been another ship-class built quite like it. Doubtlessly, he would have to have one of the War College's staff councils start researching possible tactics and ways to utilize the ship to its max potential. That would take time to fully achieve and take even longer to implement those doctrines throughout the fleet, though he was sure the ship would serve well even without such studies by being used in its two designed roles.

Gir turned his head to briefly glance at [member="Sanya Val Lerium"] after her comment.

"I think it will do well," said the admiral, "but ultimately, like all ships, its effectiveness will depend on its leadership and crews. And to some extent in this case, on what sort of ships it is carrying...but perhaps I'm beginning to digress. There are a large number of factors that can determine a ship's success, many of which are situational...I must admit though, I am curious to see what the inside of the ship will look like."

Nodding to his commanding officer and accompanying Jedi, Dallen fiddled with his glasses once more as their shuttle came to rest within the hangar bay of the Centurion itself. Hidden behind closed doors of the station's docking bay, the Republic Officer was surprised to say the least when the ship was revealed, although it made sense. Why land on the station and leave their shuttle behind when they left? They of course would board their new ship directly and leave from there. "Well. . . .to be honest I see it as a highly effective means of slowing down the enemy advance. Any Sith incursion along the primary hyperspace lanes into Republic territory could be pulled from hyperspace long before they reach their destination. That is, after we leave with our new vessels and put them into full production. After you Admiral? I believe you deserve the honor of commanding this vessel on our way back to the Republic."

"I appreciate the suggestion," said the blonde man, walking onto the vessel, "but I'm more inclined to leave you in command. I myself intend to spend my time walking through the ship to get a better understanding of it. You have the bridge, Mister Thayne."

Gir walked deeper into the vessel, leaving the other two behind, in order to mingle with the crew on the ship. Part of it was for morale, but a bigger part of it was to gain a better understanding of the crew and the ship itself. To understand their strengths and limits so that when the time came, he would know just how far they could go under challenging circumstances. The man stopped a protocol droid.

"You there, what's your name?"

"I am C-6PO, human-cyborg relations..."

"Do you know your way around the ship?"

"Yes sir."

"Do you have any tasks currently?"

"Sir, I am to deliver this message to Master Gunnery Sergeant Vrook...after that, I am supposed to wait for instructions for him."

"Excellent," said the man, "I am going to accompany you on your way there, and after that, hopefully I'll be able to have you guide me around the ship."

"It would be my pleasure, sir..."

And hopefully mine as well...Gir typically was skeptical about protocol droids, especially some of them with the more prissy attitudes, but he wasn't too keen to take away a soldier or sailor that might be doing actual work to guide him around the ship. It almost made him wish that he had his old aide-de-camp present, but Lod was promoted now. Besides, it's not as if the duros knew his way around the ship either. As the droid began to talk, Gir began to regret his decision as he followed its golden body around the massive vessel.

Sanya followed the two gents off the shuttle onto the new ship 'centurion', she was keen to look around the place but the bridge was where the action was. for that brief moment she was going to ask for command on the way back to try it out. after all she had to listen to those two the whole trip, but men will be men and they have to try out all the new toys the vessel offers. as she continued to follow Dallen to the bridge she looked at every detail of how clean and actually still shiny it all looked. still even has the new ship smell.
