DESCRIPTION
The Turtle class is a specialised anti-snubfighter that is only seen as part of larger battlegroups. The Confederacy decided that whilst its tactics of heavy well plated carriers, supported by large numbers of swarming droid fighters was effective, that it needed to reconfigure its smaller capital ships to make more effective tactical units.
The second ship from the FLaT PACK Programme. The Turtle is mass produced and comes in three variations:
Tu/a
Tu/b
Tu/c
The submission deal with the Tu/c variant.
This vessel is defined to fill a specialist roll and work as part of flexible tactical units that can be tailored to deal with any situation. It is intended to work as part of a “mixed-economy” battle group of specialised vessels that excel at their own role and collectively form effective, tactical units. A commander should be able to give such a unit an objective and allow them to carry it out independently.
The Turtle class is intended to either hold back with carriers and long range ordnance vessels that are exposed to fighters, or escort cruisers into battle. They are frequently seen covering gunboats and Scythe class cruisers as they assault carriers.
