STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:+ Strong in the Force: Trystis views the Dark Side as an extension of himself, and wields it with such a natural ease that he may just be right. He often can perform various feats without so much as a gesture, and quickly takes to new powers. Only time will tell whether or not his own strength consumes him in his relentless search for perfection.
+ A Warrior Born and Bred: Trystis received rudimentary training in swordsmanship, yet was since birth taught by first the Echani, then the Sith. This makes him a formidable combatant.
- A Galaxy of Enemies: He betrayed the One Sith, yet never truly left behind what they gave him. Abrasive and mistrustful, he is a difficult person to trust - and has not one person in the galaxy he would count as a friend. Bereft of allies, he relies on himself to a fault.
- A Fractured Mind: The Hand of the Empress's savage mental deconstruction left Trystis fairly unhinged. The only thing preventing a complete breakdown was him clinging to the Dark Side of the Force - and the healing the Dark Side offers is painful indeed. Wracked with headaches, nightmares, and a bizarre sense of logic, he can't even trust himself.
APPEARANCE:
Despire being handsome, Trystis usually covers his face with some sort of visor or helmet in combat. A thin scar runs along his cheek, and a lightsaber burn scar marrs his lower back. His silver hair hangs long, and is usually tied back in a ponytail. Eschewing traditional Sith regalia to avoid drawing friendly fire, he prefers lightweight, white clothing or personalized Rebel military uniforms..
BIOGRAPHY:
Selected at a young age for the cult of the Sith, Trystis Ray was no victim. He's not a good person in bad circumstances. He was a bad person in circumstances that are very, very good for him - the rest of the galaxy, not so much. He already had a callous disregard for others, but the Academy of the Sith honed that into paranoia and mistrust. To rely on anyone other than yourself is the pinnacle of foolishness.
His life changed when he crossed a Hand of the Empress, wholly on accident. In a brief, one-sided struggle, he was mentally and physically brutalized and left a quivering wreck in a cold, hard cell. Fermenting in there with only his emotions, he was plucked out of it on the whim of the Sith again. But by then, he had come to an epiphany - he could not continue here. He could not continue to truly be a Sith if he existed to serve others.
Fleeing Coruscant to join the Rebel Alliance, he makes a strange addition. No Jedi, but incomplete in his Sith training, he strives to bring down the rotting edifice of the Empire. If this liberates a few planets or so along the way, so be it. Power would be nice, but in the end, all he ever cared about was seeing all those who wronged him humbled and destroyed. As long as that happens, he doesn't care if the Galaxy burns to ash.
