Triumph of the Will (Galactic Alliance Political Rally - Silver Legion)

NABOO

Theatricality and deception went hand in hand. In order to truly captivate your audiance, you had to appear more than just a good speaker or a cunning linguist. You had to appear more to them as divine than even their dearest god and to do that, you needed your surroundings to dazzle them, your supporters to rouse them and their every emotion wrapped around your words. It was the art of propaganda that Seph had learned as a secret member of the Forceless Future Society and now, as the leader of the Silver Legion, he could use those same skills to full effect.

He had picked the perfect location for the Rally. His minions had built a stage from durasteel on the waterside of a large lake on Naboo, on the other side of which was a Star Destroyer left behind by some long lost battle. He stood centerpoint on the platform, a podium before him that house a single holo reciever that was sending a realtime recording of his face to a projecter behind the stage; creating a massive image of his head that floated directly behind the politican. The audiance who had gathered around was a large one, most of them were locals but there were some off-worlders. Most of them were most likely Silver Legion filler to help bolster the numbers but that really wasn't of concern, if you looked successful than more would flock to you.

The theatrics didn't stop there. The Silver Legion members who had attended to be apart of the larger whole had shown up in their mandated mirrored armor that reflected everything off its silver surface. They marched inbetween and to the sides of the audiance, holding banners with the SIlver Legion emblem as the pyrotechniques set up on the edges of the rally space spat silver flames into the air; the harsh glow reflecting off the armor of the marchers to create a sort of light show that danced over the crowd. The entire area was a testiment to two things, the color silver and the strength of the Silver Legion political movement.

It was devilishly perfect if Seph said so himself.

"Brothers and Sisters of the Galactic Alliance, I stand before you humbled by the sacrifice of our brave soldiers and horrified at the treason our leaders have committed!" Seph began, lifting his fist dramatically in the air, "I have lived a long life and read many documents on the history of the galaxy. I have seen the tyranny of the Sith first hand and I remember our history. Those hundreds of years ago when our great republic fell to the hands of a snake who proclaimed himself Shev Palpatine, Emperor of the Galaxy, he dissolved a democratic senate and instead put govenors at the head of local government.

"The Sith of our time did not forget these ways. The Sith Empire used local govenors to instill fear in the populaces by giving them complete control to slay and torture their subjects in any way they saw fit. Now, I look at the Galactic Alliance and see more of the same. A good government turned evil, govenors rule us now and make no mistake, the defense fleet is no military. It is a tool to get us to comply. They say that the fleet is for "mutual defense" but do you think this glorified defense pact they call a government would risk military assets to defend a planet that has displeased them?

"Do you think they will not use the fleet to punish us? Do you not think they will use the fleet to oppress us? Do you not think they will use the fleet to bribe us? The fleet is a joke and now our so called "elected govenors" have no real democatic power. They are figureheads to represent the power of the true rulers...the Triumvirate. A triumvirate who, may I remind you, has given power to a religious order who is directly responsible for the fall of the Republic in the first place! An order whose ancient grudge with those slightly different than themselves has done nothing for us but bring death to our children and fire to our worlds!

"What is next? A Rhen doctrine? They are already ruling through the fear of abandonment, what is to stop them from ruling through the fear of death? We must take action! We must stand strong! Justice!"

Supporters in the crowd, along with those silver clad members holding the flags, raised their fist in approval and screamed "justice!" right back at the rally leader.

"This concludes my speech for the evening, but do not forget my words. I will now walk among you and meet some of the brave faces of the future, true warriors of Galactic Justice."

With that, Seph stepped aside from the podium and made his way down to the crowds flanked by four armor clad Legion goons.

Feel free to talk with Seph, each other, show up just for fun...do stuff!

From the desk of Lady Ajira Cardei, Theed Hangar:

Your Majesty,

In regards to the Silver Legion political rally taking place near charted salvage site 329, a few points of interest.

A passing security flight spotted what appears to be highly reflective full-body armor being worn by some participants. Analysts suggest there may be weapons bylaw infractions at the site. I have forwarded this information to local law enforcement.

More importantly, one of this movement's leaders is known to me. A member of my family had the opportunity to sit in on one of his lectures several years ago, when he was a professor on Onderon. She spoke with him at some length, and noted that he believed the Jedi to be virtually identical to the Sith, and worthy of similar suspicion. She noted populist and activist leanings of a radical nature, including a fundamental mistrust of democratic government. Naboo's freedom of speech laws are, of course, well entrenched. However, as you know, we make exceptions for hate speech, threats to public order, treason, etc. Based on my cousin's account of their meeting, and the pageantry and imagery noted by our pilot, Nopells' rhetoric and following should be examined.

I should also mention that, as you likely know, my estranged cousin was the noted despot Ashin Varanin, now deceased. I drew the above account from a partial journal found in her mother's estate. The tone of the account suggested that Varanin considered Nopells to be potentially useful, in a way that we should consider ominous. Since the account was fragmentary, it is highly possible that Varanin maintained contact or recruited him as an operative for the Lords of the Fringe. I have copied GA authorities on this message.

Colton had listened to the speech, it sounded good but then that was politician’s stock and trade just as his was acquiring hard to get good, and discretely delivering them. Colton agree with some parts of the man ideas but the fact they seemed all be ex or current military gave pause as the military didn’t take kindly to people like himself. Colton decided a little more digging was in order who knew made he get a nice bonus for his work out this man.
