Treatech is currently a military design and contracting company. It's owner, the illusive Mr. Janus provides a constant stream of design prospects. Treatech builds for Alliance and Sith alike and anyone who in between who wages war. Treatech is technically a conglomerate, one that didn't even begin as a true military producer. It began as a business on Manaan, eventually spreading and absorbing until it discovered that war paid well. A ruthless corporate super-giant run by an unknown presence is as dangerous as they come. For consumers, Treatech is a reliable company. They produce high quality, effective products. For other companies though, Treatech is dangerous. Some partners are betrayed, their supply lines disrupter, their workers rebel. Other partners though, are cherished, their projects collaborated on and funded to success. An ulterior motive must be present, but specifics are few and far between.
RATIONALE
In reality, there is a commonality in the dealings of Treatech. It is all for the progression of human and near-humans. While Treatech seems to sell to everyone who will buy, due to the nature of military contracting, they are able to secretly offer better deals to those they favor. With a faucet of funds streaming in from business ventures, Treatech is able to take on costs for contracts requested by human and near-human buyers, while overcharging anyone else. Of course, Mr. Janus is highly intelligent, and out of necessity maintains relations with high profile companies run by aliens to hide his true motivations from the public. However, it is not uncommon for Treatech to specifically target small manufacterers run by non-human or human adjacent species. They will disrupt operations and eventually buy out the company, stealing their ideas to churn out as their own.
