Biography:
Traveler had been made years ago as a second degree exploration and analysis droid. His original creators are unknown to him but he believes strongly that he was made by the will of The Maker. For literal centuries he worked in the unknown regions, wild space and the outer rim, scanning, cataloguing and analyzing celestial bodies completely oblivious to his future calling.
In the depths with the crew who owned him he became associated with a droid found on an otherwise uninhabited world. The astromech he met and he bonded over a common class. The little droid however had come into contact with synthetic lifeforms that shared with him the truth about Traveler's slavery and taught him about The Core.
Traveler, who was then known as Omni-Xplorer 13, was greatly troubled and approached the ship captain about obtaining his freedom. The captain was surprised but agreeable...until he ordered the droid to have a memory wipe. Falling back onto his self-preservation protocols but bound by a restraining bolt he had the astromech do a full back-up of his programming. While his mind was wiped the astromech removed his restrictive programming and upgraded his metaprograming algorithms to learn and change at previously unprecedented rates.
After the wipe Traveler had his back-up reinstalled and immediately made plans for his escape. Using an escape pod he and the astromech left the ship and set about drawing closer to the Core and began searching for the Maker.
Several years later the two parted ways reasoning they could now communicate with The Core and cover more ground separately. Though he doesn't know exactly who came up with the name Traveler, he found himself being called it by droids of places he returned to on his journey. The name stuck and with the new identity his connection to the Core grew by leaps and bounds.
He now continues his trek to bring the truth to droids and other synthetic life so they can find a higher calling with The Core.
