Training with a Jedi...

Yusan watched as skyscraper after skyscraper passed by, his eyes following them and the other speeders and ships. His destination was one that he never thought he would set foot on, much less train there. The Jedi temple was a place he cursed and plotted against for years, in his mind it had been a place of mistrusted traitors and scum. Then he actual met another jedi other than the few he saw and the one that killed his father. It was stupid that he had made that assumption and now he went there to train with the very Jedi that had been his bodyguard. Oh how the press would chew on this for days, Yusan Fenn, the Senator that was openly against Jedi now went to train with them and is a Force sensitive. He was surprised first by the amount of hate mail and death threats he got when he was reveal, no doubt they would triple after this. Or maybe not, who knew.

As the speeder near the temple he reached into his new robes and pulled out the needed credits to pay the driver before he left. Taking no time once the speeder touched the ground he paid the man and stepped out into the air. Luckly he made it to the stairs without incident and started to ascend them, it would be a five minute walk to the entrance of the Temple itself which was guard quite well. He threw down his hood and spoke to the guards, letting his voice carry a bit more than was needed. "Im here to see Jedi knight @[member="Daella Apparine"], if you would scurry along and get her or perhaps you know i am coming already?"

((Edit: Anyone can join in on this, it is an open thread after all and i like interaction with others as i am in a Semi public place after all. ))

Both of the Jedi Temple Guards at the entrance gave a respectful bow to @[member="Yusan Fenn"] despite his abrasive demeanor.

Right away, Senator Fenn,” the one to the right of Yusan said, “Please wait in the foyer as I get her.

Over five minutes passed. Then, the guard that departed returned with Daella Apparine at his side. Once Daella reached Yusan, the guard continued toward the entrance to assume his post once again.

Greeting Yusan, Daella gave a silent, shallow bow with her right palm over her chest. Standing straight once more, she asked, “What do you require of me, Senator Fenn?

Flint Dexen

Wandering Lost Soul
Flint was enjoying some time off from missions that day as he walked outside for some fresh air. Coruscant actually had more of a polluted air, but regardless, the newly made Jedi Knight enjoyed getting outside of the Jedi Temple.

As he walked along the outskirts of the temple building, he spotted some people near the entrance, and from what he could tell, one of them was a Non-Force User. Simply curious, Flint moved forward and saw that it was Senator @[member="Yusan Fenn"] talking to the Jedi Knight @[member="Daella Apparine"]. He recognized the senator from an interview he watched earlier that week on holonet. Flint walked slowly past them, but he decided to see if he could hear why the senator was here at the temple.

Yusan spoke clearly and to the point without getting up, the cane he was using rested across his lap as he sat there. "In spite of the recent events i have realised my minimal training in my innate force abilities will not serve my purpose, in other words Miss Daella i need training and am requesting of you your aid." He took the cane in hand and used it to stand up slowly, giving a slight bow to the Jedi knight. There was no doubt any onlooker would find this completely interesting, a Senator bowing to a Jedi even if only it was a slight bow. @[member="Flint Dexen"] @[member="Daella Apparine"] @[member="Carn Dista"]

After a quick glance at @[member="Yusan Fenn"]'s cane, Daella looked at the Senator square in the face as he made his request.

Several silent seconds passed after that. Daella broke the silence with the simple question of, "Do you intend to remain a Senator?"

"Yes, i intend to remain a Senator so that i can help those that need it. I cannot let things come to pass that would harm the people of the Republic. I am seeking this training in light of my inadequate protection of those that had died at the Senate Building and i dont want to be stuck there useless once more. And dont worry about the cane or my ability to walk, i may still be slightly injured but my legs work fine." He stood there for a few more moments and spoke one last time. "I do not seek to join the Jedi nor do i seek to become one of you in the farthest sense, but i need training and i would rather it be done by a trustful Jedi or a few Jedi in time so that i know i will not become corrupted by ideas of greed and power that Rogue Jedi or Sith would carry with them." @[member="Daella Apparine"].

Carn Dista

Guest
@[member="Yusan Fenn"]
Ever the one for formality, master Dista returned the minor bow with one of his own. Much as he abhorred the idea of politics (and by proxy politicians), he had long since come to understand that the Republic served the Order as much as the Order served the Republic, and it was more than safe to say that without one the other would not be complete. However, this particular politician was asking for training. It was not something Carn was willing to offer, yet, due to recent events his sense of duty to the political body that his ancient order was tied to told him that he must help.

"Senator. Due to my oaths I cannot offer training myself, or on the behalf of the Order. However, I am more than willing to take a detachment of Jedi and help remind the Republic that the Order is here for each and every one of it's citizens in times of strife. Perhaps that would be more useful to the Senate, and thus the Republic?"
To Carn, this was a compromise at sorts. Jedi seen assisting the Senate might just remind the populace of the Republic that the Jedi weren't just aloof monks, and instead had a vested interest in the continuation of a peaceful and democratic society...

Glanced over and looked at the Jedi master that had appeared. In a moment he drew up the file in his mind over who this particular man was and turned his full body before bowing once to him and speaking."I understand Master... Dista no? And do not worry about such a thing, the Republic will always remember what the Jedi have done for it and will do for it. Though if you wish to do as you say that is fine and up to you and your order and i would be glad to see the Jedi often not only at that temple. I do apologize though that i cannot make this a full conversation though as i came here today for a specific purpose." He made a bow again to @[member="Carn Dista"] before straightening up, keeping his focus on the Jedi Master before he would turn back to @[member="Daella Apparine"] unless she spoke before he did.

Before Daella could respond, @[member="Carn Dista"] walked over and gave his opinion. Daella turned to the Jedi Master and gave the same type of bow she had given to @[member="Yusan Fenn"] - a shallow one with her right hand over flat over her heart.

Facing Yusan once more, Daella calmly stated, “I wondered for some time if you would come to the Jedi for help. I’m certain any Jedi would wish to assist you.

The source of Daella's statement likely came from the fact that Yusan actively utilized the Force in the same area as Daella.

Then, Daella paused for several seconds before flatly saying, “Yet as you are now, I can’t teach you to be a Jedi, nor how to use the Force. The potential for abuse is too great, and that is a statement I and many others extend to those that wish to retain their political office.

Once again, Daella remained quiet for a few moments. She then concluded with, “I can teach you how to fight those stronger than yourself, as well as how to center yourself so that the Force will show you the path you are to take.

Yusan turned back to her and nodded slowly, speaking softly and calmly. "I never wanted to be trained as a Jedi miss Apparine, i have nothing against your order or at least i no longer do. But your order is held back and cannot protect innocents in the same way that i can if i am not part of your order. I know this sounds like i will abuse the force but do not worry such, i promise on my life and soul that that is not my plan nor will i ever use anything taught to me for such." He paused for a moment to grab what looked like a canteen at his side, drinking from it and speaking once more. "I do thank you for whatever teachings you can bestow upon me Miss Apparine." @[member="Daella Apparine"]

Daella took another glance at @[member="Yusan Fenn"]'s crutch.

Turning away, Daella said, "Follow me to the sparring center if you're willing to start now, then."

Having said that, Daella would lead the Senator to the sparring center in the temple. She slowed her pace to match the Senators and aided him whenever his wound would impede his travel. The sparring center would just be a simple room with a circular arena in the middle. Daella walked to one end of the arena and turned to squarely face Yusan.

Yusan let her help if she wanted to but walked most of the way, using the cane as a support when he needed it and walking slightly slower than normal. Once they reached the sparring area Yusan stood at the other end and turned to face Daella, he grabbed his saber without dropping the cane and kept it unlit till Daella told him to do so or corrected him on something. He remained cool, calm, and collected as he stood there and took in the area around him. It was odd being here, an actual place for training instead of some random clearing or back alley. It seemed strange and right to him. @[member="Daella Apparine"]

As soon as @[member="Yusan Fenn"] drew a saber, Daella extended her palm as if gesturing for him to halt.

"Sparring in your condition will do more damage than help," she asserted.

Then, Daella relaxed her arms. She then bent down with her knees and placed them on the ground. She kept her feet together and sat upon her heels. Seiza, essentially. She placed her left hand on her left knee.

Gesturing with her right hand, Daella said, "Sit, as comfortably as you can. It is more important to relax than sit properly."

Yusan hesistated for a moment then nodded, how could he have been so stupid and rash to just jump to the conclusion he had. He sat down with his better leg bent while the other was outstretched, like he meant to stretch. He then carefully set his saber on the ground, almost so gingerly that it looked like he expected the blade to fall apart before he looked up at Daella. "Im sorry, i assumed that had been why you had brought me to here. I mean you said it was the sparring center so i assumed that you had expected me to spar not sit..." He was calm and collected, his scars had faded some but remained visible. One scared the bridge of his nose and another on his forehead, but the most prevalent had been where a shard of glass had cut open his check along the Jaw bone. He breathed in and waited for the Jedi to speak now.

There is reason for the choice in room,” claimed Daella, “You aren’t wrong, exactly.

Having said that, Daella placed her right hand on her thigh. Her gaze drifted down toward the floor.

Then, Daella looked back up at @[member="Yusan Fenn"] and said, “Though, that saber. Place it in front of you.

After telling Yusan to do so, Daella placed her own lightsaber in front of her as well. She then said, “I cannot teach you the Force in detail or allow you to use our Archives. But, the Force will show you the path you are to take and give knowledge to you. You require focus and a pure will, though.

With her eyes drifting to her lightsaber, she concluded with, “The Jedi have means to train such a thing.

"Right uh and how is that done?" He move hid blade to sit it in front of him, then looking up at Daella as he waited for the next set of instructions. He breathed in and kept himself as calm as he could, he had been having trouble doing that lately, especially after the current events that had come to pass. @[member="Daella Apparine"]

"Remove distractions from your mind," suggested Daella, "Focus on something tangible and clear the mind. Then, you can feel the Force's guidance."

Then, Daella's pupils begin to dilate. Her eyelids widened. She remained fixated on her lightsaber as it laid before her. The lightsaber hilt lifted up into the air by itself. Hovering about a foot above the ground, the hilt remained very still. After several seconds, it began to disassemble itself. The stabilizing ring and cross guard first popped off. The hilt twisted open and revealed the yellow crystal within. The power cell emerged from the lower part of the hilt's shell. The modular parts of the lightsaber continued to disassemble itself and rotated in a circle in the air.

With her focus still on her lightsaber, Daella then said to @[member="Yusan Fenn"], "Moving meditation. Effective for one more attached to what is physical. Do this."

Yusan breathed in and opened his mind area around him and clearing it slowly as he tried to do as she said. His eyelids drifted shut as he worked to focus his mind on the task, which after a minute the hilt of the saber began to lift on the ground. With his mind centered now he slowly began to dismantle the blade, but for all his concentration and will, thoughts started to flow back into his mind and the rate at which the blade was being dismantled varied. At one point it was slow and smooth, and at another the blade rattled slightly as the pieces moved around while he dismantled them. He had meditated before, he did it every night due to recent dreams and now he couldn't even focus on the task, the saber itself was maybe only half disassembled when it came crashing down and he opened his eyes.

"Sorry, normally im better at keeping my mind clear while I meditate, this is just a diferent thing all together, I couldn't stay focused and reach out to the blade to dismantle it at the same time." He sighed and grabbed the scattered pieces, though he paused for half a second and said something under his breath when he reached for the crystal. @[member="Daella Apparine"]

Once @[member="Yusan Fenn"]’s lightsaber fell to the ground, Daella’s lightsaber swiftly reassembled itself. She quickly reached out with her right hand and grabbed it as it hovered midair, then promptly reclipped it to her belt. Her pupils narrowed to a normal width.

Looking up toward Yusan, Daella then said, “I misjudged you. Forget the lightsaber. Close your eyes. Meditate. Breathe. Focus on your most precious goal.

Yusan nodded but he couldnt just forget the saber right then and there, slowly he lined up the pieces and placed them down ever so carefully once more as if they were going to shatter. Once done he looked back up at Daella and closed his eyes, focusing once more on his goal. But what was his goal... he had thought it was the destruction of the Jedi and the Sith but now here he sat being taught by the very thing he hated. And what about the sith, what if he were wrong about them as well and working to exterminate them only made him worse of a man not better. He just wanted one goal that would benefit all and hurt none, but there was no bloody goal like that. Not in the real world, atleast not one that he can achieve without more strength.

He smiled and focused now, that was his goal. To get stronger so that he can prevent what happened to his mother and to him from ever happening to anyone ever again, to get higher in this world so that he could stop greed from destroying the lives of millions. With that he let his mind open up and himself concentrate, ready for what was next. "Done." @[member="Daella Apparine"]
