Training Thread: Burn so Bright

Kiandra had finally been introduced to the world of the Dathomir Witches, but it still left her asking questions. The Bright Sun Clan had taken her into the fold as one of their own... But was she? All this information about separate clans did nothing to quell Kiandra's questions. She thought simply being among the Dathomiri would be enough to fill the hole in her heart and yet somehow it only widened the gap. She was so close yet so far away. She wanted to be in the clan she was born to...

The Bright Sun Clan was a wonderful clan under the leadership of a bright woman named Hacielle. She was a sweet woman who informed Kiandra that not all the clans were so pleasant...

"There are those who will not care for you one bit, Kiandra. Out there, there are those who will harm you simply cause they sense the good in you." Hacielle informed. Kiandra worried that her own mother was a member of one of these darker clans. "Should you wish to leave the Bright Sun Clan to find the answers you seek... I pray you stay and learn a few spells to protect yourself from the horrors beyond."

And so Kiandra agreed to Hacielle's plea, Kiandra had learned the dangers of the Jungle on her first day. Kiandra stayed with the Bright Sun Clan the first moon learning small menial tasks at first. Kiandra learned to cook on a fire, to truly wash and care for herself. For the first time in her life she was earning her own keep, and getting blisters doing it.... And she loved it. It was hard but it meant more to her now than ever before.

After the first fortnight, Hacielle believed Kiandra was ready to learn her first spell....

"Kiandra." Hacielle said summoning the newest witch initate to her side.

Kiandra approached eager to please, eager to learn.

"Kiandra, you have come to learn more about your people, and more about yourself..." Hacielle continued as Kiandra knelt before the Mother of the tribe. She did not speak even though she had so many questions. She knew it best not to interrupt the powerful Hacielle, who's grace was only equaled by her ability to captivate others. "To do so you need to be able to understand the magic behind the words.Tell me child, you have been with us sometime, what do you know about the magic we possess?"

Kiandra and in fact done her research by word-of-mouth. She learned a lot in her time amongst the witches. "The power is innate within us. Our common ancestor passed the magic down to us. Her power flows within us. We call our magic Allyan Magic paying our respects to her vision but there are those amongst us who practice a dark art called shadow magic which is forbidden by your clan, Hacielle, which is something I completely agree with." Kiandra stated.

Hacielle's normally calm demeanor was overtaken by a festering concern within her, "Someone spoke to you of Shadow Magic?" Sha asked sternly, as if she believed sweet Kiandra prone to using shadow magic.

"...oh, um... Yes ma'am." Kiandra was a little taken aback. "Only of how wrong it was..."

"You shall not ever use Shadow Magic?" Hacielle asked more calmly, realizing she may have scared the young Kiandra.

"Of course! I understand it's ability to corrupt." Kiandra said quickly.

"I hope that's the truth." Hacielle said cryptically, as if she knew something Kiandra did not.
