Torvas Vief
Character

Intent: Limited largely custom production based around a modified blaster-based standard rifle. Torvas Vief uses one that's personally modified.
Development Thread: If necessary.
Manufacturer: Custom; based around standard Corellian Valken-38 blaster rifle with modifications completed by one Torvas Vief.
Model: N/A
Affiliation: Torvas Vief personally. There is a possibility that he might consider making one for those whom he has forged some sort of a personal alliance.
Modularity: Considering that the weapon in question is based around an existing mass produced weapon, it's possible that some components could be swapped out if repairs were necessary. Custom components, however, have to be made on an individual basis, which tends to make further customizations impossible.
Production: Semi-Unique, as only Torvas' personal weapon and those which may be carefully made for his allies are really in question.
Material: The weapon itself is made mostly from standard durasteel blaster components with a wooden butt stock and other pieces of wooden furniture.
Classification: Customized laser blast rifle with a power manifestation designed to increase usefulness in a situation requiring melee usage.
Size: Rather large handheld weapon.
Length: Approximately one meter
Weight: Approximately 5 kilograms when loaded
Ammunition Type: A power cell and a gas canister is required to use the weapon in the original configuration as a standard blaster rifle. An additional power cell is installed to power the end-mounted power manifestation that's useful in melee combat, though it can drain from the rifle's power cell as well in a pinch, though this would deplete the cell necessary to fire the weapon.
Ammunition Capacity: Ten shots
Effective Range: As a projectile weapon, it's equivalent to a long-range standard personal blaster rifle. When used to strike someone it naturally only has a close quarters combat-oriented range.
Rate of Fire: The rifle is semi-automatic, and requires a discrete trigger pull to fire what are essentially standard laser blasts from the usual exit point of the rifle. These blasts are concurrent with the standard types of blasts that such a weapon would make in its stock configuration. The power manifestation at the end of the weapon can be switched on and off, which drains the auxiliary power cell.
Special Features: Unlike other rifles, this particular weapon can produce a small flame from the business end of the weapon that's designed for use when fighting people in close quarters. As with any firearm, it could be used to strike someone in a pinch, but the addition of a flame at one end makes it all the more potent when used as a melee weapon.
Description: Corellian blaster rifles are durable long-range personal weapons, and they have been for centuries. Throughout time there have been notable attempts to modify them because their long length makes them good in a fight in an auxiliary capacity as a pole arm. Dengar notably used one with a small consistent flagrant projection in close quarters situations, and it's from this weapon that the current one in question is derived from. Naturally, being touched with such a projection could seriously burn someone, and being struck with the hard metal of such a weapon is quite painful if not deadly in a fight. It could also be used to block incoming attacks.
As with any rifle being used in this manner, however, there's a serious risk that it could be bent out of shape, which makes it useless as a rifle as well as quite dangerous to fire. Custom modifications also have a nasty tendency to be relatively unreliable in many situations. Torvas, as several individuals historically used it, prefers to utilize the weapon by laterally spinning it about through his practiced paws and therefore making it more difficult for an enemy to note from which direction such an assault is coming from. Such a spun attack also has a useful defensive feature, though learning to use it in this way is sure to produce plenty of awkward situations where one drops the weapon or strikes himself with it.
It's naturally very important to keep in mind that such a weapon is not normally weighted correctly for use in such a manner. To this end the melee rifle has had some welded additions that serve no other purpose than to even out the weighting of the weapon and allow it to be more easily tossed about or swung. That being said, it's still very ungainly when compared to an appropriate pole arm. It will never be a particularly elegant weapon for sure.
Considering that a power cell is used to generate the flagrant power manifestation, which is very literally a constantly burning flame at the business end of the weapon, an ion blast, electromagnetic pulse or other similar charge could easily knock it out. Dousing the flame could also theoretically put it out, similar to a gas flame inundated with water.
