Description: The Toklar Super Heavy Turbolaser is a massive, agrocite-enhanced turbolaser based on the proven KDY-165 Planetary Turbolaser, but unlike that weapon, is specifically designed to be mounted on the Star Defender Silver Tide as a main battery system. Like the KDY-165, the Toklar is an extremely powerful weapon in large part because of its sheer size and power requirements. The Toklar has a bore nearly 25 meters wide and incorporates several kilometers of condensed galven circuitry that is fed by dozens of dedicated power sources and dozens of heat overload tubes. The sheer size of this infrastructure allows the Toklar to produce a massive bolt that can travel across a battlefield to severely cripple a star destroyer and can completely obliterate smaller vessels. Sustained volleys from Toklars can quickly reduce a small war fleet to rubble. Like its planetary turbolaser predecessor, this extreme power comes at an extreme cost. The Toklar typically has a very slow fire rate as the capacitors take time to fully build up power. The cooling system equally takes a long time to disperse the weapon's heat to levels where it is safe to fire again. While Lucerne Labs has incorporated auxiliary magnetic levitation to the Toklar's turret, the weapon still noticeably takes a fair amount of time to track many targets. Small and fast targets such as frigates and corvettes are unlikely to be hit by this weapon. Because of these obvious and exploitable downsides, Lucerne Labs didn't merely copy the KDY-165, but rather integrated existing beam weapon technology into the design to provide it with different fire modes.
As the base Toklar's primary fire mode is ineffective against smaller targets, Lucerne Labs took experience and technology from stutter-fire laser cannons and incorporated it into the weapon's base circuitry. When activated, the Toklar produces a quick spread of lower-charged bolts. While each of these bolts is an order of magnititude less powerful than its typical bolt, each of these bolts can destroy many corvettes or cripple a frigate. By firing a spread of bolts at such targets, the Toklar improves its chances of hitting a target much like a shotgun against a waterfowl, despite the Toklar's still relatively poor tracking. Like stutter-fire laser cannons, it is also an effective choice against vessels utilizing dovin basals for defense.
The Toklar's other fire mode appears to be a sustained, focused beam, but in actuality is series of overlapping lower-power bolts based on the principles of ancient pulse-wave blasters. This fire mode is used in a manner similar to a homing laser on a spider droid. The beam is typically used to 'scythe' through formations of enemy ships, particularly large groups of enemy strikecraft, or carve through the hulls of enemy vessels, spreading destruction and chaos in its wake. It is also sometimes used to bore through targets much like a drill, especially those which sport defenses designed to absorb brief but powerful attacks, such as superconducting armor or neutronium-impregnated armor plating.
Each Toklar is encased in a heavily armored ball turret on the Silver Tide. This provides the weapons with an excellent field of fire, though the heavy armor of the turret in large part contributes to its slow tracking speed. While Toklars are most typically used as individual weapons, they can be fire-linked into batteries for coordinated fire against extremely well-defended targets like large space stations or other enemy dreadnaughts.

- Multiple Fire Modes: The Toklar has several alternate fire cycling modes, which allows it more role versatility than what is typically found in large, heavy beam weapons.
- Agrocite-Enhanced: Toklar uses an internal coating of agrocite based research from past agrocite cannons, which dramatically improves the performance of the Toklarcompared to normal turbolasers.
- Excellent Power: As such a massive and power intensive weapon, it comes as little surprise that the Toklar can produce extreme amounts of damage on its targets.
- Excellent Range: The Toklar has excellent range in all of its fire modes, due to in part to its great size and the sophistication of its extensive galven circuitry.
- Very High Rate of Fire (Continuous Mode Only): The Toklar has an extremely high rate of fire in this mode simply by its definition alone. Unfortunately, this rate of fire comes at the cost of decreased range and power.
- Slow Rate of Fire: The Toklar's rate of fire is typically quite slow at its highest setting due to the time needed to build up a charge and the time needed to fully cool down between shots.
- Poor Tracking: While Toklar Turbolasers are mounted on turrets, as such massive weapons, their tracking is rather slow on their own, which typically limits their use against smaller warships. Sometimes, the Silver Tide's officers find it easier to speed up the tracking process by turning the ship itself.
