- Resistances
- Inserts are lab tested to stop 3 rifle caliber bolts without penetration or degradation. Soft armorweave vest is lab tested to stop 1 pistol caliber blots without penetration or degradation.
- Kinetic: Very High (Strikeface) , Average (Soft Armor):
- Inserts are lab tested to stop 3 rifle caliber bolts without penetration or degradation. Soft armorweave vest is lab tested to stop 3 pistol caliber blots without penetration or degradation. Soft armorweave stops shrapnel and non-vibration blades exceptionally.
- Lightsabers: Low (Strikeface) , None (Soft Armor):
- Inserts provide low resistance to a direct lightsaber thrust. Soft armorweave always fails to a direct thrust with a lightsaber.
- Sonic: Low (Strikeface) , None (Soft Armor):
- Inserts may reduce direct weaponized sonic disruption by a small margin at close range. Soft armorweave fails to reduce weaponized sonic disruption at any range.
- EMP/ION: Average (Strikeface), Average (Soft Armor):
- Inserts and soft armorweave are made with nonconductive materials, and do reduce direct ion damage by a considerable amount at close range, under laboratory conditions.
SPECIAL FEATURES
Strengths:
- Plate Carrier - x4 6mm Duraplast strikeface inserts, (1 front, 1 back, 2 sides,) coated in Chromium alloy, are combat rated to stop most rifle caliber weapon systems. All the while also weighing less than hardened steel or ceramic plates. During testing, Inserts must withstand three rifle caliber plasma bolts /slugs without penetration or degradation to pass. Please note however that kinetic absorption to the wearer is still very high. Broken ribs are still a very common ailment when being shot with a rifle.
- Heat Resistant - The vest is extremely heat resistant and is combat proven operational even at temperatures exceeding 140'C / 300'F. Wear gloves though.
- AP Rounds - Specialized penetration ammunition, large caliber ammunition, extreme velocity rounds, E-WEB, or laser cannon bolts will always penetrate 6mm of Duraplast. No question.
- Heat Retainment - The vest wears like a parka around your torso. Wear a space suit, smart glove, water vest, or temperature adjusted bodyglove to negate the rise in your core temperature. Wearers are also advised that unbuckling the vest to vent this heat will reduce protection values. Snug fit or go home.
- Weight - Vests are heavy. Please consider your suit, mission kit, weapon loadout, and threat level assessments before inserting all four plates. Not all missions will require a full kit.
DESCRIPTION
The Tin-Roberts Blast Vest is a standard Armor Carrier System developed and produced by the Special Materials Division of the Denon Acadmey of Science. It was field tested on Denon with the help of the Altrisa Special Weapons and Tactics team. The blast vest is built with non-conductive polymer armorweave and triple reinforced around the shoulders for excellent ergonomics. It features inserts on all four sides for strikeface plates and can be resized to take any kind of near-human commercial insert. The straps are configurable for quick-release or banded wear, and can be easily resized to fit many different user positions. Such as naked, bodyglove fit, or even over a Class IV EVA suit. However, weight and duration of wear should always be a top consideration before equipping this item. Not all missions will require a full kit.
The vest is purchased with four 6mm Chormium finished Duraplast plates but can be modified to fit any desirable insert.
All testing was conducted under laboratory conditions at room temperature and at at close range to the target. Your level of protection may vary based on battlefield conditions.
The DAS produces armor systems of the highest galactic quality. However, the DAS assumes no responsibility for your personal protection and all products purchased are listed as buyer beware.
