Time passes between lives

Reaching my left arm up, while my left was still clutching the sword, Water droplets fell from Krest's head. At first I thought it was sweat, but then I saw that they were tears. I looked at him all weird even when I was wobbly standing up. It wasn't any easier with the limp in my left knee. I just waved it off for a moment as I let go of Krest's hand. Steading myself by leaning up against a table, I lifted up my right hand. my knuckles still white as I held the sword.

I relaxed a bit and decided that now I could actually look at the creation. The dark gold blade looked absolutely beautiful. I then looked up at Krest, feeling lightheaded, but as I stood there, I felt as though I wasn't so much in pain. Almost like getting better from a stuffy nose. you just feel the ability to breathe. Looking to him, I shrugged my shoulders.

"So uh, how did you do the incantations for that?"

"Hmm?" Krest was a bit more focused on healing the boy then answering his questions, but he would snap out of it, looking to [member="Nickolas Imura"] with a rather bored expression on his face. "Oh, those don't actually matter, it just helps keep my head focused. It'd be like me yelling 'push' when ever I used force push. Course, what I did was a lot more complicated, so some made up words would help me focus." It was actually a lie. The words weren't made up, and did have meaning. But the rest of that was actually truth. He didn't need to use the words, but it helped him focus more.

"If ya wanna learn how to smith swords like that though, I suppose I can do a thing or two to teach you."

Did he really think I would believe that? That there was no need for the saying of words to make it work? When you read ancient scrolls they have power within them to effect you. I knew that much from what I know, and the information at the Lords of the Fringe. I also know you can summon beasts with such a power. Summon fear even! but to say, "Oh it's just to keep me focused" might be a logical reason, but I have an idea that there is more to it than that. Nonetheless, this just gave me a little hint that I shouldn't trust him all too much.

I shook my head with a smile.

"Really that's it?"

Then saying that he could teach me to smith like that, I nodded my head.

"Sounds like a plan to me."

Blood Magic, which is what the ritual basically was, was a heinous crime against the life of another. Krest was more then fine with being untrustworthy if it meant keeping such a dark ritual from becoming common practice, even though in some areas it already was. But there were less extreme ways to make powerful blades. None of course as strong as the one he had made for [member="Nickolas Imura"] , but none the less strong.

That is what he would teach him.

"I do like plans. Now, what is it you plan to do with that sword now?"

Krest asked me what I planed to do with the sword after his comment. I looked down at the sword, then back up to Krest. Looking him dead in the eye. I only had one notion. One thing that has kept me alive all these years. "Keep those who I care for out of harms way. Even if it means the taint of my name."

I didn't care what others thought of me. I didn't care if they hated my guts. But if they did anything to one of my apprentices, my adopted family, my real family or my closest of friends, then Hell will come to the Galaxy. And if they run, they will only die tired.

"My family is the most important thing to me. So I must protect it."
