Description:
Titan Industries Ocular Replacements are just as they sound, cybernetic eyeballs.

This pair of unique cybernetic eyes were designed by Titan Industries Health Sciences Division as a replacement for the eyes that were lost to Silara Kuhn after the use of Aspha Serum drastically backfired on the recovery of her health.

These eyes were designed specifically in mind with her function as a Sith Lord and were made to fulfill the role of both a functioning set of eyes, as well as containing several other more advanced features. Since cybernetics have come along way and since Titan Industries recent foray into the field of replacing human body parts, the creation of the TI-Ocular Replacements were neither difficult nor especially complex.

The most difficult part of the process was designing the Ocular Replacements to appear “normal”. Creating the technology that allowed the eyes to see and function were relatively simple, having existed for thousands of years ranging far back into the Old Republic. So it was the aesthetic aspect of the eyes that took time to develop. This however was aided through the purchasing of several Human Replica Droid units as well as the development of the Children of Crius.

Eventually, the researchers at the Health Science department of Titan Industries were able to develop a pair of Cybernetic eye that appeared completely normal when its auxiliary functions were inactive, holding a bright green iris rimming a small black pupil.

Much like every other Titan Industries product however, the Ocular Replacements that were designed for Silara are not simple replacements. Instead they come with a host of minor features.

It is when these features are activated that the Eye begins to visibly shift. The first of these features is an advanced Heads Up Display. When this display is activated the eye begins to shift, rimming with slight displays of blue and color before turning completely black. When this shift occurs Silara will begin to see the HUD within her vision.

Similarly the eye will shift and change color briefly when its other vision modes are active. When it begins its night vision function the eye shifts a pale green, when its infrared functions enables a red hue exist for a fleeting moment, and finally when the eyes take on aspects of ultraviolet light a purple hue can be seen. This functions allows Silara to see into the ultra-violet light spectrum. Much like other products created by Titan for Silara the Ocular Replacements contain a small caveat, like the Dat'qah Tattoos manufactured by Titan, the OR's contain a single remote link up to which only Alric has access to, allowing him to essentially see what his wife sees whenever in use.

These functions are not in anyway special and have been part of Cybernetic eyes for the past millenia.

The Titan Industries Ocular Replacements were created at the behest of Silara Kuhn, who after remaining blind for so long decided that she was finally ready to see again. The eyes require surgery to be implanted, after which they will function the same as any other cybernetic replacement. It is unlikely that they will require maintenance in the near future, though of course if they are damaged they will need to be replaced. The eyes are also hardened against EMP in the sense that a single EMP grenade or an ion blast would be unlikely to damage them, however with a big enough blast or repeated hits the circuitry within the eyes will eventually shut down, rendering the eyes useless. When this occurs the eyes, like most technology, require time to reactivate and reestablish themselves.

Alright, this sub looks to be in good order. :)

I'll need a couple of clarifications on a few things, however:

Ultraviolet Light Capabilities

The description doesn't much help with this "vision" mode, so I'm going to need you to elaborate a little.
  • Does it enable Silara to see into the UV spectrum?
  • OR, if I read that right, does it work in a similar way to a black light?
  • Alternately, is it meant to do both?
My only other question was if an EMP would affect the function of the OR, and if yes, to what extent?

It allows Silara to see into the UV Spectrum, the purple hue is just a slight visual cue nothing more. I also added a note about the EMPS, small blasts will not effect them but repeated strikes or larger waves of EMP will render them inert.
