The dark side of the force flows through Thrat powerfully so it quickly ate away at his body making him appear almost as if he were undead.
BIOGRAPHY:
As a chiss Thrat grew up very logical. He joined the Sith because it was the best solution at the time. He was found on one of the planets the Sith were invading and it was either become enslaved or join. A choice between being enslaved or keeping their independence is from the chiss point of view no choice at all. When a Chiss does a job they choose to do it well, they're perfectionists of sorts... with Thrat it was no different. He figured out what the Sith desired and he became that. He became a conduit of the dark side itself.
