This is gonna sound like another bar joke, isn't it? (Freanne)

So, a prince and his dog were walking into a bar. No, this was not the start to a joke. Kerrel, or rather Prince Kerrel Di Marzullo, heir to some throne somewhere, and his big bear-like white dog, Winter, were about to sit down in one of the swankier bars on Tatooine. That wasn't saying much, though. A ball of sand like Tatooine didn't really have much to recommend itself, except seclusion. And seclusion was what Kerrel needed. Trying to escape his brother's political machinations was a full-time job, as worthy of payment as anything.

So, Kerrel threw a camoflage net over his Scurrg bomber, and went into town. There was a Protectorate military base around here, somewhere, and military people were often fun to be around, or at least to talk to. So, to the bar he went, and sitting down with Winter next to him, begging the bartender for scraps, was for some reason hilarious to him. People near him laughed as the big white dog stood on its hind legs and leaned its front paws on the bar to eat the plate of food the bartender had set for him, and Kerrel laughed with them. this was the happiest he'd ever been.

She was sat down with some other members of junior officers based on tatooine, members of aca military. She been held up here since naboo, the was little for her to do other than shoot womp rats. Though they done patrols, they done little else here. She was boarded to say the least, she had heard all the stories. She kept of having to put private jimmy into hot tank, for stealing water. Two pairs of underwear had been stolen, and run up the flagpole. She was mildly amused by it, though she wished they get her clean ones. She figured it was some in laundry department. Then she saw the new face come in, she wonder if he had any stories to tell them. News from any on going battles, with the omega protectorate. The senior office at their table a captain ramstein pulled open a seat, and shouted Oi stranger, come sit with us. She smiled a little, as meant she may have some else to talk to in this force forsaken outpost.

Kerrel raised an eyebrow, and smiled crookedly at the man with the rank stripes who was shouting across the room at him. He tugged at the flap of skin on Winter's neck, and picked the plate off the bartop, while the huge dog gave him a look that almost seemed to be bewildered anger, until his master pointed at the group of soldiers around the table he'd just been invited to. The dog jumped onto an empty chair, and gave Kerrel something that was definitely a glare, before resolutely sitting down, and gulping down the rest of the food on his plate.

Kerrel himself sat down in the chair next to the captain, and held out a hand to shake.

"Thank you, captain. I'm Kerrel. You guys are from up the street, I guess?"

Freanne gave him a smile as he sat down, and then asked him Heard any good rumours lately. She was interested in a news from the front, as the upper echelons never pass down any information to lower ranks. They all knew the omega protectorate was up to something, though what was the question. News that a major fleet build up, was not uncommon though the rumors said they entered republic space. This meant they could be readying to strike elsewhere against them, or had they gone for the one sith again. Though they doubted that as omega failed on that front, last time they went to coruscant.

Kerrel shrugged. He didn't know much about the war, except for the odd whispers about the Red Ravens taking over a lot of territory from the Black Sun. Makeb, Antecedent, and (maybe) Nar Shaddaa were completely theirs now.

"I know about crime wars, civil wars, and even the stupid little squabbles on Alderaan. Idiots fighting over bits of their planet, while the Vong are practically eating it. Anyway, I heard some stuff about the Ravens and Black Sun bein' at each others throats, and the Fringe is still twiddling their thumbs and laughing at everybody else while they supply anybody who'll pay 'em."

Of course, he didn't know much about the Republic, and he wasn't willing to talk about the Sith. Casual conversation wasn't something he'd risk his uncle's wrath for, no matter how far away he was.

Well how do our de facto allies do then, against the black suns. The aca were known allies of the one sith, and it was known that those scum the red ravens, had struck a bargain with them. She then sipped her brandy and coke, as she waited for reply. The captain looked at her, as if to say Oi welp I am in charge here, not you. He then said They are not our allies, unless we decide it! The one sith are, and yes we have history with the black suns. That does not make them our allies, thats upto the corporate elite Lieutenant Roscoe. His face was stern as her said it, and then took swig of his larger. He was in charge not that little puppy.

Kerrel ignored the older man's outburst, and looked at the woman who'd spoken up, smiling. She was pretty, but he couldn't exactly flirt with her with her commander right there. He ruffled Winter's fur a bit, before turning his attention back to the conversation with a grin.

"I heard ol' Lysle Rigger disappeared, and what's-her-name, the Zeltron woman, she's still sick. Probably the Bane guy, the blue one, in charge now. And I'd bet money he's changed a lot of the command structure, too. People who used to be nothin' might come back to bite whoever pissed them off before."

As for the Sith... Kerrel shuddered at the memory of his brother's delight when he first learned to kill with the Force. It had been disturbing, indeed.

"Not even gonna mention what I've heard about the Sith. Some of it is pretty karked up."

She leaned in he talked, she was interested in any gossip. The others were not so interested, as they did not care, all they cared about was when and where the omega protectorate was going to strike. As that would dictate what happens next, not some idle gossip about some crime boss, and who he shared his bed with. So you know nothing about where the big omega fleet went then? The captain grunted, as that was more interesting to him than anything else. As they were going to strike somewhere, with a possy of the size he had reports for. The had been bets on it, outside odds was alderaan. As the was a rumor, that were the hydra queen was these days. I tell you what captain ramstein, how about I get another table and listen then? He waved his hand, as to say what ever. She then got up and head to a private booth so he could tell her some of the gossip, that he heard in the galaxy.

Kerrel followed the woman to the booth, and Winter leapt so hard out of his chair, that it flipped over and hit the captain in the head. Kerrel tried not to laugh until he was out of earshot, and then he laughed until he started coughing. When he stopped, he grinned at the woman apologetically.

"I'm sorry, but I've never seen Winter do anything like that. Furry old thing's a bit annoyed right now. Too hot for him."

He pet the dog, as he jumped onto a seat in the booth, and walked in to give Kerrel and the woman some space.

"Anyway, what's your name? Old man over there didn't even shake my hand."

My name is freanne, and that man is the company captain. I am one of lieutenants, I am incharge of company of scouts. I am also one the best shot in the company, which he does not like. She did not care either, as she pride herself she could shoot womp rat, between the eyes at maximum range. So tell me what was you saying about the red ravens.

Kerrel smiled at the woman, and ruffled up Winter's head again. The dog placed his front paws on the table possessively, and made a face that looked like a sloppy grin. Kerrel laughed again, and leaned on the padding of the booth.

"Guy seems like a bit of a puffer. The kind of guy who usually gets shot from the back, if you get my meaning."

He scratched Winter's ears, and remembered what he'd been talking about before.

"The Ravens have gotten their command structure fucked up. Lysle Rigger and his pink-skinned mistress are gone somewhere, and I'd bet money that their replacements are Cryax Bane and that guy with the short name. The industrialist."

He shrugged, and held his hands up in a sort of noncommittal gesture.

"But they're still a criminal empire, and that's the important thing. They're still gonna go where there's money and friendly ties."

I doubt anyone going shot him in back, he is actually well respected. It`s just that he on his seventh pint beer, and he does not like gossip. She explained about her captain, she then continued to listen to him. So do you think they will try and allie with us, and take on the omega protectorate. Do you think we are too formal for them, to consider as allies? She asked, she liked the idea of new allies in the war against the omega. They also had problems with the black suns, so they could help each other.

Kerrel shrugged at Freanne's explanation, and sort-of apology for her captain. He thought about her question for a second, and then he had her answer.

"The Ravens are, above all, a criminal empire. Yes, they hold territory and govern it well, but in the end it's about how much cash goes into their pockets. The only loyalty they may have would be to each other, and possibly the Mandalorians, with the number of vode they have in their organization. The Mando'ade are absolutely an expanded paramilitary group, much like the Protectorate. It just depends on how much influence they exert on those thieves and pirates and smugglers."

He smirked crookedly, and his voice went soft.

"They're going to have to watch out. The Sith tolerate the Mandalorians, and the Ravens, too... but if any of the Council thinks it's advantageous, they could most likely smash the Ravens into the ground. The ACA doesn't have that problem, but eventually less sane heads prevail. That is the way of the Sith."

So have you met any of the one sith, what are they like. I heard rumours of their strength in battle, they beat omega protectorate into the ground. They may have the republic on the ropes, and beat back a mandalorian invasion. Though I never been outside our space, except to take the battle to the omega protectorate. So what are they like in battle?

Her breathing was shallow as she was excited by the idea, the omega protectorate could be beat. As they lost many battles to them, and she her comrades were waiting for the next attack.
