Private Thievery and Thriving

Taji Nelson

To thrive one needed resources that Taji didn't have. This includes of course a permanent home. Due to that, he was doing something he normally wouldn't consider as a proper activity. Namely, a theft. Specifically he was currently in the process of robbing a company of a suit of armor. It was a basic lightweight suit of armor though, nothing special really but he would need it for a later heist to provide him a degree of protection. Why was he doing this, you might ask? To prepare himself for a future heist where upon he would gain the tools he needed for a second heist, and a third heist. The location of the heist he was currently doing? The planet Harrin. He was in one of the warehouses belonging to EchaniTech. "Now where do they keep that armor?" muttered Taji, as he looked at himself. Really he hadn't wanted to do this but.... his stomach grumbled. Oh, that's why he was doing this in particular. Armor meant he could raid vaults and sell artifacts so that he could have food at his disposal. Food meant survival. Food was good. He liked food.

Given that the Bomber he had as his home also needed repairs, he needed to solve his cash flow problem as well.

"Ma'am, we have an intruder in the building."

Niamh looked up from where she was reviewing the Overlock facilities reports and found herself staring at the security captain, Mal. He was a grizzled man who had clearly served time in some military or other prior to finding himself a private security job. She had no doubt he could handle his own. However, she stepped over and took stock of what the man said, her eyes drifting to the display the man held which showed a young man sneaking through their Harrin facility. What he was after wasn't readily evident, but when she reached out she could tell there was a little something different about this situation than what she would have expected.

"I'll take care of," she said, turning towards the door. "Keep your people at bay."

"Yes, ma'am," Mal said.

She left the office and started to make her way through the facility towards him, her presence in the Force masked.

Unaware of the person who was coming after him, Taji made his way to where the armors were kept. Choosing a basic armor that was in his size Taji started to strap it on. Really he didn't want to do what he was doing. Normally he wouldn't do something like this. Given that obtaining food would require a degree of protection as most people had blasters, and he really couldn't afford much in the way of anything he knew he had to do this though. A sigh was done by him as he looked at himself sadly as he put on the armor that he had stolen.

He hated himself for having to do something like this. "I didn't want to do this, but I'm going to need this." He said to no one in particular as he finally put the helmet of the stolen suit on himself. Today wasn't going to be a good day for him as he had to do this thing he hated the most if he were to be honest. Normally he wouldn't steal from a company without any sort of corruption or bad business practices. Yet he had no choice if he was to survive. Taji looked like he was malnourished and starving. His clothes were ragged.

It wasn't going to be as good a day as he thought it was.

She found him as he finished putting his helmet on. The Echani queen was dressed in the garb of Echani Moonwrought, Force users of the Echani people. Queen though she was, and entitled to wearing other garb if she so desired, she was a practical person and preferred to be dressed as what she had been before she was queen aside from the circlet that adorned her forehead. She stared at the kid who was putting on a set of her companies armor as if he owned it, no weapon in her hands despite watching someone who was intent on stealing from her.

Instead, she reached out with the Force in effort to wrap it around Taji Nelson and hold him in place.

"Who are you and why are you stealing what can be easily purchased?"

He was completely broke. Of course as he had made a bad investment in parts for repairing the Virtue Bomber that had actually turned out to be highly defective that was to be expected.

His clothes though were torn and ragged. Immobilized by her with the Force he made no attempt to struggle against her holding him in place. He He knew better than to attack someone who was stronger than him with the Force. Judging from the circlet on her head, she was Echani - Royalty. This company belonged to ROYALTY?!?

"I am sorry your Highness. I didn't know this company belonged to royalty. You see, my name's Taji Nelson, I'm kinda broke credit wise... and starving... thought I could fence the armor or modify it and fence it for some credits for food and other supplies." His stomach chose that moment to let out a loud roar of hunger. He needed supplies to repair the Virtue Class Bomber he called home. It had many defects from his piloting not being the best. He really needed to learn how to pilot at some point. Maybe he could trick a pilot into some lessons.
