Manufacturer: iBorg Prosthetic Augments
Model: iBorg Zerek Ascension Node
Affiliation: Open market
Modularity: It's a module
Production: Mass-produced
Material: Desh-terenthium, electronics, nullification resin (optional)
Description: The Zerek Ascension Node is a module suitable for plugging into those of iBorg's implants that have a Zerek Slot. It is partially a refinement of knowledge cartridge technology. A Zerek Ascension Node provides a temporary package of brain-based muscle memory. The Ascension Node should not be taken as a comprehensive substitute for training and experience. However, when plugged in for long or repeated sessions, it can guide and refine training and experience, allowing somewhat quicker permanent training (insofar as any training is permanent). Alternately, if plugged in for shorter periods, it can simply provide a lesser and temporary boost to the motor skills involved.

Ascension Nodes are available in the following packages:
  • A growing library of personal starships and vehicles, including mount beasts
  • A growing library of personal weapons
  • A growing library of unarmed martial arts and dance styles
  • A growing library of popular sports (sometimes copied from elite athletes)
  • Parkour
  • Swimming and diving
  • Skydiving
  • A growing library of specific agricultural and manufacturing tasks
  • A growing library of specific mechanical/repair tasks
  • Motions associated with sabacc, pazakk, and other games of chance
Some caveats:
  • Ascension Nodes are not available for lightsabre training/combat. Though an Ascension Node could be created for the gestures associated with Force abilities, obviously no such abilities would be conferred by gestures alone, nor would the Node convey the sensation of using the Force.
  • Ascension Nodes for obscure, highly specific, or advanced skills are more expensive, and often unavailable. This is because every package must be copied from a person who has developed extensive muscle memory in the task in question.
  • For liability reasons, iBorg does not publicly provide Ascension Node copy/creation services in relation to sexual experiences.
  • For liability reasons, iBorg does not recommend overwriting Ascension Nodes with new skill packages, and does not sell blank Ascension Nodes.*
  • For liability reasons, please consult your doctor before use. Many skills require a high level of physical fitness and conditioning.
  • For liability reasons, iBorg recommends avoiding spice use while an Ascension Node is plugged in.
  • For liability reasons, iBorg recommends using Ascension Nodes copied from members of your own species, or closely related species. Similar conditions apply to widely differing weights, heights, and proportions.**
  • Optional high-grade nullification resin can prevent most Force interference, but will impede Force senses.
  • Generally, Ascension Nodes can be made from any action performed within the last eight standard hours, though the highest-quality Nodes are made as the action is being performed. Ascension Nodes are best made in an iBorg facility using proprietary equipment comparable to memory-flash-learning recorders.
  • Ascension Nodes do not generally or primarily include sensory data, except as directly relevant to the performance of the skill.

*Overwritten, 'taped-over' Ascension Nodes can retain vestiges of earlier programming, with context altered or removed. For example, someone looking to become a parkour practitioner for a day might find himself compulsively dealing invisible cards -- or breaking nearby necks. iBorg has the means to recycle used Ascension Nodes, but aftermarket overwriting will void warranties and is strongly discouraged.
**For example, a human or near-human looking to use an Ascension Node copied from a Twi'lek dancer might experience a 'phantom lekku' sensation, or even phantom pain after extended use.

I see no major issue with what is written here, but I feel the need to further comment;

These things should not be used as replacements for developing skills through RP. I don't want to see a Sith Lord running around claiming they're a better Slicer than...some famous slicer, because they used one of these once.

Approved.
