HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Darth Vorkar was a Sith Lord during the time of the ancient Sith Empire. A native to Dromund Kaas, the child who would become Darth Vorkar was found early on by a member of the ruling Dark Council. The boys overwhelming strength in the Dark Side was unmatched among his generation, and the Dark Council member sought to create for himself the perfect weapon. The child was instructed and given initial training under the Dark Councilor, before he finally reached the age to be sent to Korriban. There, the youth came to dominate the Academy, and dozens of students went missing during his time. No evidence was ever brought against him, out of fear for some, and the prodigy graduated from the Academy years ahead once he had learned all that he could under the instructors there.

Taken as the apprentice by the Dark Councilor who had found him, the youth who would become Darth Vorkar was unleashed on the galaxy. Planetary leaders were assassinated, entire convoys of ships went missing, the the rivals of the Dark Councilor began to fade into obscurity. Together, they stood at the forefront of the Sith Empire, and the galaxy lay within their grasp. Some would call it fate then that, during an expedition to an ancient tomb world deep inside the Tingle Arm, it all changed. During the apprentices journeys across the galaxy, he came across the location of an ancient tomb, the final resting place of one of the first Dark Lords of the Sith, before the Sith Empire ever came into existence. The Dark Councilor desired the knowledge no doubt held within, and together, master and apprentice dove into the darkness beneath the earth.

Only the apprentice emerged, changed beyond all recognition of what he once was. He wore them mantle and skin of his former master, and took for himself the name he would become infamous for; Darth Vorkar. On that unremembed world, Darth Vorkar created a new philosophy for the Sith, using the information he had garnered within the tomb of that ancient Dark Lord of the Sith. This new philosophy, the Rule of the One. Unlike later Sith codes, the Rule of the One preached of but a single thing; there could only be One. Darth Vorkar declared himself the One, the only true Sith in existence, and set out on a reign of terror to eradicate all those he declared to be heretics.

His reign of terror held the galaxy in its thrall for eight years. Corrupting at first his old masters power base, and then further expanding it, Darth Vorkar began to gather for himself an army that the Sith Empire could not ignore. The first battle of the War of the One was fought in the void above Ventooine. Sith warriors were driven mad by the mere presence of Darth Vorkar, and the fleet he had assembled tore through the Sith Empires armada with ease. On the surface of Ventooine, crazed former Imperial soldiers clashed with their once trusted comrades in a cacophony of blood and death. The first battle of the War for the One ended in a decisive victory for Darth Vorkar, with every Sith taken captive after the battle being put to death.

The First Battle for Ventooine would mark the first of many such decisive defeats in the early years of the War of the One. The Sith Empire, with a heavy reliance on its Sith Warriors were unable to get near Darth Vorkar as he continued his domination of the Sith Empires worlds. Through means unknown to the Dark Council, Darth Vorkar seemed to grow stronger with every Sith that he killed. Only through the deployment of purely Imperial Non-Force User fleets and armies was the Sith Empire able to delay Darth Vorkar's advance, but this proved untenable in the long term. A radical solution was required to change the course of the war, and the Sith Empire found its solution. During a surprise raid on an Empire outpost, the Sith Lord stationed there used a new form of battle meditation, linking his mind to that of the other Sith on the planet. For reasons unknown, this one Sith Lord was immune to the powers of Darth Vorkar. The battle meditation he projected to the other Sith shielded them as well, and for the first time in the War of the One, the forces of Darth Vorkar were repelled decisively from the field.

This Sith Lord was readily brought into the Dark Council, which has become nearly barren of members slowly killed off during the war. Given command of the largest fleet the Sith Empire had gathered to date, this Dark Councilor took the battle to Darth Vorkar above the world of Serreno, where the murderous Darth Vorkar was rallying his forces to launch a decisive counter attack to prevent the Sith Empire from regrouping. Hundreds of warships, and hundreds of thousands of soldiers fought across the Serreno system. Darth Vorkar himself took to the field, cutting swaths through the Sith Empires forces before the remaining members of the Dark Council, united together under the protective battle meditation of their newest member, fought against Darth Vorkar. The climactic duel during the Battle of Serreno saw forces brought against each other rarely seen across the galaxy. Hundreds of thousands were killed in the chaos of the battle, and the losses the Sith Empire endured that day delayed their eventual invasion of the Republic by decades.

Losing half their number against Darth Vorkar, the Dark Council was nonetheless able to bring down the One, and the crippled Darth Vorkar was taken from the field by his fanatic followers. The Battle of Serreno ended in a Sith Empire victory, and Darth Vorkar would not be seen for the remaining years of the war. Worlds were reconquered by the Sith, and every temple Darth Vorkar raised to the Rule of the One was cast down. The War of the One was officially declared won during the Second Battle of Ventooine, where the last loyalists of Darth Vorkar were surrounded and wiped out. The Dark Council determined that this event would be erased from Imperial history where possible, to continue to project the Sith's dominate power within the Empire. Darth Vorkar was never found by the Sith Empire following Serreno, and many among the Dark Council feared that the Sith was merely buying his time before he would return again. The Dark Council member who had proven immune to Darth Vorkar's power took it upon themselves to muster a fleet and set off into the Tingle Arm, to hunt down and end the threat Darth Vorkar and the Rule of the One posed to the Sith Empire.

Neither the Dark Council member or Darth Vorkar were ever heard from again, and the War of the One was sealed away from the minds of the Sith Empire, deep in the vaults beneath Korriban. These records would only be rediscovered in 864 ABY by Darth Acharon. Following the fall of Korriban to Galactic Alliance forces, Darth Acharon took the opportunity to delve into depths of the ancient Academy, and discovered the half ruined remains of the past...
