You were first.
When the Balmora discovered that fleet, you were the one who cheered loudest when he proclaimed the Ascendancy. When the first Holocrons were unlocked, you were most eager to glean its secrets. And when the drums of war were sounded, you were waiting with weapon drawn. Master of the Force, Admiral of the Fleet, Captain of the Shard -- whoever you may be, when the Balmora calls, you answer. You are ready and willing. You strike quickly, and you fight to kill.
You cannot fail, for you are greater than all else.
R E B E L
When they come, you are prepared. They may rain fire upon you and your people, but you will never yield. Once you had thought to have a normal life, but now you spend your time counting your tibanna canisters in anticipation of the next battle. They must be stopped, no matter the cost. Soldier, spy, Jedi, Sith -- whoever you may be, when they arrive you are first to meet them in the field and in the air. You are desperate and determined. You strike for those who cannot, and you fight against the tide.
You cannot fail, for you are all that stands in their way.
S L A V E
When they came you scrambled to escape, only to watch the last transport leave without you. They were the lucky ones. To be blown out of the sky by a turbolaser was much better than being forced into a life of servitude. Still you live on, at the whim of your new masters. You scrape by, only fed enough to keep you fit for work and given enough rest to keep you alive. Whoever you may be, you survive. You fuel their machines and throw yourself en masse at the enemy. You strike only as much as you must, and you fight as your masters bid.
You cannot fail, for they do not tolerate failure.
V A S H T O R I
When you become part of the Vashtori, it becomes your duty to write great new stories with us. Whether Shard or otherwise, this faction is a home to all those seeking a home for their writing. The Vashtori Ascendancy is simply another backdrop for the conflict at heart -- if your character is in need of opposition, the Vashtori can provide. If you seek a more villainous place for a Shard to flourish, there is no better faction.
