STANDARD FEATURES
All Standard Features

ADVANCED SYSTEMS

  • Decentralized: Its command centers, power generators and other critical systems are lodged deep within. It takes a lot to penetrate this far, meaning that a Star can take a lot of damage and still be functionally capable of operating.
  • Hiding: Its armament is protected and covered by the same hull the ship is made of. Furthermore withdrawing them inwards or drawing them out for battle happens very quickly. It is difficult to disable its weapon systems permanently because of this.
  • EWAR: Most of its systems are mechanical in nature. The spare few digital hardware that helps with targeting and other calculations are heavily enforced by ECM/EWAR systems.
  • ANTI-RAD: One of its hull layers is a reinforced form of pressed agrinium. This lets it travel very close by sources of heavy radiation.
Strengths:
  • Powerful Weaponry: A high focus on explosive energized weaponry means that every hit taken by one of the Twelve Stars is highly damaging.
  • Fortress: There is little that can get through these hulls. Layered with Teno Alloy stolen from the Zygerrians, Impervium finish, Dura-Armor for the structure, the Twelve Stars are highly durable.
  • Self-Sufficient: Possesses powerful tractor beams and internal processing units. Even now the Stars can be used to exploit any system it chooses.
Weaknesses:
  • No Shields: It doesn't have any shields to speak of. Every hit is taken directly against the hull. A reinforced, powerful hull with multiple defensive lines, but in a Galaxy where most conventional ships have both? Still poses a problem.
  • Maneuver: Little room to maneuver. Once the Stars are settled, it takes a long time to reorient themselves. So they better get it right immediately.
  • Slow: Most of their powerful is diverted to the weapon systems. Very slow. Sorry.
DESCRIPTION
The Twelve Stars of Raykka do not look like the standard Destroyer you might find throughout the Galaxy.

That is because they were never supposed to be warships to begin with. In the distant past, when the Raykkans abandoned their homeworld in search for something better, their only space-worthy possessions were twelve large asteroid mining ships. Ugly, large, possessing powerful mining lasers and plenty of room to store ores. It was their only ticket of their ruined home, so they took them. Loading all their wealth and possessions on it and left for greener pastures. Maybe if their first encounter had been against an actual navy... things would have turned out different for the Raykkan species.

Wiped out themselves, or sold into slavery.

Instead? They encountered a system full of wealth, but with only pre-flight natives. Little those could do against mining lasers powerful enough to reshape mountains. Across the centuries the Raykkans kept upgrading the Twelve Stars, to keep pace with their own development and progression. All of it stolen and assimilated from other species, of course.

These days the Twelve Stars of Raykka usually remain close to Raykka.

Unless they need to send a message. One of them spells doom for a planet. All together? Well, it hasn't happened before, but there is a reason most worlds near Raykka are careful when they deal with the Raykkans.
