The Truth (Holonet leak on Spacebook)

(The IC content was all recorded by Sylvanan's HUD, as mentioned in every thread he was in from the start. The Star Cabal fell apart, so he's issuing this as some form of revenge. A number of the lines have been spliced by him to get to the point, but an analyst could find that these voices are in fact genuine.)

There was a video spreading across social media as of late. It had been released on the dark net some time ago, and a lucky soul managed to upload it on Spacebook. Some believed it. Others saw it as a hoax. Either way, it was there for the whole galaxy to see if they wished.

It began.

A protocol droid sat in front of the holocam. It was old and rusted, missing one eye and was slumped over in the chair. It remained that way for a moment, until the remaining eye began to glow with a faint yellow light.

"People of the galaxy, forgive me for my use of this droid. My identity must be kept a secret, lest I be hunted down by those you will learn of today." The droid perked up. It was reading from some form of script. "Let it be known that an organization known as the Star Cabal almost brought about the collapse of galactic civilization as we know it. Composed of some of the galaxy's most influential people, the Cabal's goal was to eradicate the religious leadership of the One Sith, dismantle the Republic, and bring about an end to all other galactic powers. Their end goal was to erect a new galactic order in the form of a Communist Republic ruling from Coruscant. Their mission failed due to the actions of brave unsung heroes, but they are still at large."

"Today, I will be providing recordings, names, documents, and other sources to prove the guilt of those accused. Some of you will recognize these people as important figureheads. Understand that they seek to deceive you. Understand that they have sought to destroy your way of life in the past, and will likely do so in the future."

The view shifted to a still picture of Tmoxin Temi. Audio could easily be heard.

I came to talk about the clones. For the plan I mean. You need some, I would say about...six thousand."

"I can flash clone them in two months. Another two to train them sufficiently. Then they're yours. We can find them with the Inquisition credits - put it down as a military expense."

“What am I to say we are using these clones for? If I am questioned? This is my career on the line so while this all sounds well and good coming out of your mouth, I’m the one that has to ultimately answer for it.” She paused and then added, "I'm merely looking for a plausible lie."

"You've noticed increased rebel activity on Balmorra, yes?" He lofted a brow. "That's my doing. The leader of the cell is a very headstrong Jedi. Powerful, intelligent, but ruled by his passions. He hates the Sith, more than either of us. He is a useful tool."

"He will eventually become your ally, but for now, his activities justify loyal Imperial soldiers. He will incite revolution, these ten thousand men will be the perceived solution for the Sith. In truth, they will be ours to control, inhibitor chips and all."

"Do you agree m'dear?"

"Yes, I do agree,"

"Are you able to have a drink, my friend? This is breath of heaven, a very expensive and potent alcohol."

"If you can, I'd like to propose a toast to our new venture together."

The video came to and end. The droid resumed speaking. "You've just seen Miss Temi agreeing to purchase a clone army for the purpose of overthrowing the One Sith. Keep in mind this video dates back to the days when she was a 'loyal' soldier within their ranks. Now the Techno Union supports her ventures? Who is to say they are not readying to turn on their allies? Sith Lords of the galactic core, I urge you to watch your back. Your allies may not be as they seem...moving on."

Geneviève Lasedri, staunch supporter of the Republic. friend to the Jedi, enemy to the One SIth...or is she? Our operative managed to place a bug on one of the Star Cabal's leaders. This is Miss Lasedri agreeing to a similar deal. Her plan? To exterminate the Jedi Order and consolidate her power as leader of the Republic."

A still of Miss Lasedri appeared on the screen. Audio played.

I don't have many cares to give about how you run your government, Miss Lasedri. So long as it isn't falling apart anyway, or falling under Jedi control. I doubt you would allow either."

"The Jedi have no place in politics any longer. They are under my authority and I will see to it that they don't overstep the bounds I have laid."

"I've come to bring up two things. One, I believe we can do business together, and two, our goals are one in the same, I hope you'll come to understand that in a few moments."

"I have no idea what 'business' you're looking for, but if you'd prefer, we can take this conversation to the command room. Though don't believe I trust you in the least."
"I represent a group of people that would see our overlords undone. People from across the galaxy: Empire, Republic, Protectorate, all those who realize this war is a religious squabble between the Jedi and the Sith. All influential people at that. We will see this conflict ended, permanently."

"We're not the terrorists you see on the holonet. We are a political group that will bring this conflict to an end very soon, and we want to extend an arm out to you, Minister, because we believe you understand the dangers of the Jedi and their compatriots as we do. Do you not care for your Republic?"

"I will do anything to defend my Republic. But sometimes that means defending myself from the inside. I can't afford to eradicate the loyal Jedi Order--not until the Sith threat is gone, to be certain."

"Of course. I want to provide you with an army of clones. Clones loyal to you, not the Jedi , and I want to build facilities within your borders. You're losing this war. You don't have enough fit men in the service. I can provide you with thousands, millions."

"In short, I offer you an army. One designed to halt your enemy, and perhaps push back while your Republic gets back on its feet. In return, these men will receive the same rights as all human men, along with military benefits. You can spin the story easily enough that way - we'll even let them volunteer rather than be forced into it."
"They will, of course, eagerly join. Inhibitor chips and what not. Once the war is over, you can even destroy the chips. They will be free, eager men. We'll just birth them. We've long since progressed past the archaic days of the clone wars."

Yet, he was not done. "As for ending the war...that would require the expulsion of the force from governmental positions...and if you would wish to discuss that, then I offer a meeting to you with those of a similar mind to myself. Their politics, you will not agree with, but they will end this war, and bring us peace. Seven years is too long for a war of this scale, wouldn't you say?"

"I won't deny a trial of your clone army you claim to have--though it will have to begin on a much, much smaller scale. Is there any way I could acquire a 'sample' of these clones? A platoon, if you will?"

"I can provide you with a sampling...Two hundred men. Commandos. They will do whatever you wish, and free of charge. All I ask, is that you join me for an evening. There are people working on both sides to end this war Prime Minister, and we could use your help."

"When and where?

'Yet another hidden viper. This woman plotted to purge the Jedi Order alongside the Cabal. Her entire senate is corrupt - they follow her example. Those that replaced her will be the same. Jedi, I ask you, what are you fighting for if your leaders are so eager to put you down once you've lost your use?"

An automated sound of amusement escaped the droid.

"Finally, a recording of a meeting between some of the major players within the Cabal. Judge how you will."

A video began to play. There were a few figures seated at a round table, most notably Detritus, a helmeted stormtroopers , Tmoxin Temi, Chiasa Kritivaas, and Hans Vaiden. The man at the head of the table was seated so that the camera could only see the back of his head, and it was covered by a thick black cowl.

The shrouded man spoke.

"My friends, I welcome you to my home. I ask that you refrain from any snark of confrontational wording. We're all above such things. I realize you might have been enemies in the past, but that is just that, the past. If you can't set your differences aside for our goal - a better galaxy, free of religious power in politics, Sith Lords ruling galactic powers, or Jedi advising the motions of your Republics, I tell you to leave now, for you are no better than that which we work to destroy."

"On to business. I welcome you, Star Cabal, to the beginning of change. Together, we will pool our resources, be they ships, soldiers, credits, or political power to end the tyranny of both the Jedi and the Sith. Already I have begun cloning armies for our effort, but more keys need to be turned."

Captain Vaiden replied.

"Currently, Sith Lord Kaine Zambrano and I are in talks of reviving Black Sword Command. It's an avenue of approach to further dominance within the Imperial Navy and possible reclamation of its title could spell a promotion for myself and the rest of the personnel under my command." Green eyes fell on the monstrous form of Detritus. "And in other news, me and Mister Detritus here are busy constructing the ultimate weapon to counter Sith, Jedi, and any other aligned Forcers in this galaxy."

Kritivaas spoke.

"Only the finished construction of the cloning facilities on Antecedent. All else I either have my own allies working on or can handle myself."

Miss Temi gave her opinion.

"Blank, you know what I've been doing. So does Captain Vaiden. I'm frankly not comfortable saying much more around Ms. Kritivaas. I didn't come here for show and tell," she seethed, her tone as fiery as her red hair. "Why don't you tell us what this meeting is really all about."

The hooded man continued.

"Given the fact that Miss Kritivaas is present at all, I think you should be comfortable speaking your mind." He said sternly.
"Cylus, you, Kyle, and Detritus will build cloning facilities on Antecedent for Miss Chiasa." He nodded toward Kyle. "Chiasa, I expect Raven support when we make our move on Coruscant. I'll secure you a teacher in the ways of the force to help you along if you need it." He informed.

"The rebellion on Balmorra is of my construction. The Jedi leading this movement is smart, powerful, but overly passionate. He and his associates will eventually serve the Empire as its fist. He and his Padawan are not like the rest of their order - they can be used for our cause." He gave a moment's pause.

"As for why I have started the rebellion, there are multiple reasons. One, to provide justification for Miss Temi to receive a legion of my finest clone soldiers funded by One Sith credits. Two, to begin the Imperial Revolution. Three, to bring forth one of the One Sith's greatest warriors, and make he or her an example of their failure. The latter will rely on your ability-" He nodded toward Hans and Tmoxin. "To assist our Jedi in ending the Sith's life."

Another pause. "Once the Empire has taken Coruscant and banished the Yuuzahan Vong, you will form a military alliance with the Republic. You'll need it to survive. Grow, establish connections, and eventually the Republic will turn its weapons on the Jedi Order. Then, it will join our cause, and we will solidify the Red Ravens as our southern counterpart."

He stood up to his full height, and glanced around the room.

"Does everyone understand?"

The clip came to an end.

"Obvious this is dated, but confirms things all the same. The Red Ravens crime syndicate operated on the Cabal's terms, and the majority of their populace was ignorant of that fact. Soldiers like Vaiden now support Imperial groups in the southern systems; groups One Sith people have made contact with. They, like the Techno Union, have plotted to overthrow you before. I will enjoy seeing if you wise up."

The droid chortled. "At one time, the Star Cabal had great influence over the galactic playing field. They might have been a threat, had their plans not fallen apart when [member="Darth Arcis"] brought a sudden end to the rebellion on Balmorra. Fortunately, our slicers managed to recover these recordings. Let it be known that the men and women shown within these holovids are traitors to their people. They are untrustworthy, greedy, and power hungry. I have provided the documentation. the truth has been brought to light. Goodbye."

The video cut out.

Tmoxin was relaxing in her entertainment room on the third-level of the Seven Moons Ranch on Bothawui. Her datapad pinged.

- Ms. Temi, you better take a look at Spacebook. I've called PR, and we're about to head into a meeting for damage control.

Heavy sigh. She did as she was instructed. Three glasses of wine into the night, and I'll be damned if I'm getting on a holocall for damage control, the Morpho executive thought. After reading what she assumed Beulah wanted her to read, she sent her young, occasionally nervous, assistant back a message.

- No need for damage control. While this may be news to some of my investors, it will not be news to the One Sith. Have a good night, Beulah.

The girl worked too hard, but bless her little anxious heart for it.

Tmoxin was no stranger to scandal. When you are known in the press as the Hapan Hussy, you get a bit of a thick skin when it comes to tabloid stories, she thought. But the truth of the matter was, whatever she was doing with the Star Cabal all of those months ago had been discovered by the Sith. She confessed everything to Darth Carach - the Maker only knew how he found out about it, but he did and for awhile she was under house arrest in her ship on Annaxes until she ended up fleeing for Techno Union space. All of this was well documented and tucked away in some Imperial databank somewhere.

But after near bankruptcy and starting over from scratch with Morpho Pharmaceuticals, she fought Rebels on Geonosis and also for the Sith on Coruscant. Both [member="Vrag"] and [member="Sage Bane"] had warned her what would happen if she engaged in treachery again, but for the most part, she had been forgiven. A bit of Hapan charisma, a bank account full of credits and a solar system full of luck, and Tmoxin was not in jail or executed.

She stretched her legs, sipped her wine and pondered her next move. The Spacebook leak could only have been managed by a few individuals. Pity her quip was left out of the transcript when she commented that Chiasa Kritivaas had been "dressed to go to Bingo on Mon Calamari crab puff night a the Golden Nautolan." No matter, certain people in the galaxy will always remember you the way they want to, she thought. But to inact revenge or not? She would need to decide if it was worth it... probably wasn't at the end of the day, but phone calls would be made regardless, not to Beulah or Morpho but the Bothan Spy Network to see if she could get more information on the leak.

The office of the Foreman was quiet as the HoloNet he had been told to watch was flicked off. The screen black, he stared into the blackness for a moment. Seething. Electricity charged around him as he sat, cold grey eyes staring at the silhouetted reflection of himself on the screen. I was like having an out of body experience. Absolute rage was one way to put it. So angry he had come full circle to calm and collected. Calculating even. I shook my head and exhaled, regaining my composure.

Buttons on a holocomm. There were a few calls to make before anything else could be done. Normally I would call her personally, but I felt scheduling a meeting at the tower on Bothawui would drive home the point for now. "Yes, this is Draco Vereen. When Miss Temi returns for the night tell her to meet with me at the ArmaTech tower nine in the morning." The voice buzzed some form of retort, like maybe she had a meeting or something scheduled then, "No, tell her she doesn't want to skip this meeting." Finally a confirmation. As soon as the secretary told me she had the message written I closed the connection and drummed fingers on the desk. Thinking. I wanted to hear her side before anything was done about that news. More importantly I wanted information.

I clicked a button on the desk and a hidden door slid open. "Theron, keep an eye on her. For now, hidden guardian." A hiss and the single pale red photoreceptor nodded. Joints whining softly as the four armed droid flexed its servos. "Upload all of her movements on my private database."

"It will be as you command." The droid said, shrinking back through the hidden doorway. Her home wasn't very far away.

Another button and the main door opened with a officer peering in, "Sir, you needed something?"

"Yes. Activate what ever intelligence operatives we have. I want to know who this guy is and I want to know where he is hiding."
