Private The Tour

Guest
Wearing: This

Armed With: Herself

Objective: Tour the city

Arrived in: Percival-Class Corvette

Sera Mina sipped expensive tea from a local cafe as she overlooked the streets of Theed on Naboo. Such elegance in the architecture. Such natural, flowing beauty in a city. It took her breath away.

Her tendrils from her mega corporation were slowly but already starting to spread into the High Republic silently, through back room deals. Already, there were multiple outlets for the corporation in Theed. One was right in front of the cafe she was enjoying herself at.

With the fall of the Core, it had required a rapid reorganizing of her goals and efforts. She no longer trusted Alliance Leadership, though she she didn't show it. She was looking to make new connections. She soon would, though she didn't realize it yet.

She finished her tea, paid the fee, and was soon walking the streets, turning heads everywhere she walked, from men and women. She was so busy so often she often didn't reflect on how solitary a creature she actually was..

It disturbed her sometimes. It was why she started to value her rare days off, wanting to experience something other than work...

Sera pondered her existence as she watched happy families walk by her. Her mother and father, strange though they were, had happiness...

She wondered someday if she, secretly an organic machine, would ever know what that was truly like in her own terms. She enjoyed the power being a CEO gave her, but as she was rapidly discovering...

...power is a fleeting thing, and it can only take you so far.

She pondered the meaning of life. Her life, specifically. Ever since she had first been activated all those years ago, all she had done was climb the social ladder.

But she wondered if there would ever come a time where that wouldn't be necessary. Where she could just be herself around someone who wasn't family...

The galaxy moved, cyclical and infinitely chaotic. Hester had ridden the shifts and displacements like everybody else, those who had survived them, that is. She was a survivor, without question. She had adapted and overcome, evolved and persevered, manoeuvred and outlasted her many adversaries. In the boardroom, on the floor of the Viceroyalty, in the halls of planetary government. She had survived childbirth and the loss of her husband. She had won elections and scaled the corporate heights. And here she was again, back where it all started, on Naboo, where she had survived her school days, learned deportment, languages, and history.

History.

The most important of all lessons passed on to the young at their most impressionable age was history. It was a lesson that became almost impossible to learn in old age, when rigidity had set in and you ploughed your course onward, despite the warning signs left behind by those who had gone before. Ignore them at your peril.

She walked the streets now, older and wiser, nearing her seventieth year, and she felt amused. She could recall her school days, her time with Mila, before everything.

But that was history too, left as a warning to those who might seek to follow the same path.

She spotted her intended sparring partner for the afternoon walking through the streets. They had not met before, but it was not fate that had brought them together. It was happenstance, sheer luck. Hester approached Sera with a burst of positivity.

"Hello, Sera. I am glad to have found you. When my office said you had accepted my invitation to meet, I thought Theed would be a perfect place for such an occasion."

She smiled warmly, doing her best to put her new acquaintance at ease.
