OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION

COMBAT INFORMATION
 • Availability: Unique
 • Deployment: Limited
 • Strengths and Weaknesses: Apart from the maintenance of their own weapons, few are technologically adept. The Toglannoq have zero aptitude for stealth or remaining unobtrusive outside of a winter environment. They struggle with hot climates. As Whiphids, they are much larger and stronger than humanoids. They have extreme cold resistance and endurance; escalation requires long solo journeys across the harshest terrain. Their talent and affinity for all things arctic can extend to initiating avalanches and glacial earthquakes, giving them disproportionate effectiveness in appropriate environments. Other noteworthy skills include weather prediction and marching-songs equivalent to the Jedi power called Tapas, allowing control of core body temperature.
DESCRIPTION: The Toglannoq began with Velok the Elder's willing or unwilling students, including his children. When he died at the hands of Aleidis Ijet and a young Daella Apparine, the Toglannoq came together on their own terms. Velok the Younger became one of their teachers and leaders. Their training, deep beneath Rukhearth, combined traditional shamanic journeys with the pragmatic skills that Velok and his father brought from offworld. Some of the oldest and most frail Toglannoq members are considered Masters; most adult members are equivalent to Knights.

They found a niche supporting local communities against outsiders (exploitative traders, mineral prospecting operations, etc.). For the most part, they stay home. Sometimes Toglannoq groups will join a Whiphid ship on a raid, procuring supplies and valuables for the homeworld. And on occasion, they'll face off against Jedi, Sith, and other adorable human traditions.

The Hekler'Kok was designed, at my request, for the Whiphids of Toola to use, as outlined in the weapon's description. There's no purchase order to link; the sub was created for subs like this.
