The Terminal [OPEN 'hangout thread' - No Fighting!]

It had been quite the roundabout trip, but Corvetta had finally returned to her birthplace, a weathered space station orbiting the commercial hub of Brentaal IV. Literally, she had been born on this very celestial city. She supposed she should feel somewhat sentimental about that, but right now she was exhausted.

The entertainment atrium within the station was hardly a rowdy zone. So many freighter pilots and merchants passed through the vendors' court, but they were often weary of their travels and just wanted a place to relax or doze off. Which many of them did as soon as they found a seat to their liking. The room was often optimally silent with only a faint resonating overtone of a smooth jazz medley.

It made Corvetta envious. Her insomnia was nearly insatiable. It had been nearly six days since she had gotten enough alcohol in her system to get a good night's sleep, and even then it was under extreme duress. She preferred not to drink in public for fear of going comatose and vulnerable to whatever wiseguy came around, but she had no obligations to an employer at the moment and was just desperate to get some shut-eye.

With a glass of local gin, she drowsily sat back and observed a ring of pilots mumbling about territorial conflicts affecting tolls.

Carden was talking to a few pilots about a few runs that they did earlier this week. When Carden noticed a lady looking at them "hey guys I'll see you later" and he left towrds the lady that was watching him "umm ma'am is there a reason you were staring at me" he said obviously waking her from a daze.

Corvetta jolted out of her serene state and cursed inwardly. Just when she was about to hit the rack...

"What? Staring?" She rubbed her eyes and shook her head, stealing a glance behind the approaching stranger to make sure nothing fishy was going on. Noting nothing suspicious, she eyed her half-empty cup and explained herself. "Nah, just kind of spacing out, ya know? Didn't mean to lock on."

Kohai was excited! Not only was she still getting used to interstellar travel, but now she actually got to explore a functioning orbital space station! She had always been fascinated by the concept. For something so big to function so smoothly, it must be constantly getting updates and repairs. Just imagining it all was making her knees shake with excitement! Oh, what I wouldn't give for the blueprints to this baby!

She reached back into a large carrying bag hanging from her belt, fishing out her personal datapad. She began walking, trying her best not to walk into anybody as she constantly filled in note after note. Kohai eventually settled into a comfortable enough seat, leaning further into her datapad, it blue glow from it's interface blinding her to her surroundings.

She waved the man off. "Nope, just idling at the moment. Got to chill in between flights, you know?" She tried her best to smile and took a small sip of her gin.

Noticing the young woman arrive on the scene, she gave an awkward salute. "Hey flygirl, it's alright." She squinted at the suddenly harsh-sounding guy and remarked with a lazy sneer, "I'm sure he doesn't mean it..."

Kohai glanced up from her datapad, looking around for the voice that greeted her. Her eyes settled on a young woman sitting nearby. "I'm sure he didn't mean it..." Who didn't mean what?

Regardless, courtesy is key, especially in a strange place. She shifted over a seat, "I'm sorry, I was distracted... What were you saying?" She hoped she hadn't offended anybody already.

"Oh, just saying hi," the pilot responded, raising her hand in something that might have resembled a wave. "Us stargals gotta stick together."

Corvetta nearly snorted at the guy. "Smooth with the ladies, I can tell," she teased, setting her glass down. Might as well give up on that for now, she thought, sighing.

"You guys got names?"

Rav walked in, wearing full yellow mandalorian armor and taking his helmet off. Clipping it to his belt, he got an ale and noticed a group of folks talking. One of them seemed to be wearing mandalorian armor. As he walked up, he reached a hand out to the man and said "Su'cuy" before nodding to the women, acknowledging their presence

Carden looked at the Mandalorian "yes? Mandalorian" Carden did not know why a Mandalorian wanted to talk to him unless it was about his father but other then that he wanted no part with them but decided to let him speak "hello" he said calmly.

"You guys got names?"

Kohai reached across the gap between them, extended a hand to shake, smiling brightly. "Kohai Drenn. Nice to meet you!"

She spotted a rather large man in yellow armor approach their little group. He held his hand out to the man she may or may not have bumped into. "Su'cuy" Oh wow! He's a Mandalorian! She eyed up his armor, it must be so hi-tech!

Rav was about to ask where the man got the mandalorian armor if he wasn't mandalorian, but he soon cleared that question up. "Im sorry about your father, I'm sure he was a good man" rav said before turning to the women. "Rav Naast, at your service." they were pretty women, an uncommon sight in most places like this.

The spacer accepted Kohai's hand and nodded at Carden. "My name's Corvetta," she said with a tired smile.

The girl registered the Mandalorian out of the corner of her blurry eyes. She shook her head, baffled as to why the Mandos had to strut around all the time in their plating. They must smell something awful. "Hey there, Rav-o," she greeted after he had offered his name. This was a surprisingly friendly bunch.

"What's everyone doing here, by the way? I'm just hangin' in between drifts, waiting for a new cap'. Not usually revvin' in here."

Kohai shrugged at [member="Corvetta Salvo"] 's question. "I helped out somebody on Nar Shaddaa, fixed their engine, but they paid me in transport credit..." She sighed, before perking up again. "But it's totally cool! I didn't realize that it would take me this far! I mean, have you seen all those ships?! And all these People?!" She spread her arms for emphasis, turning around slowly, as if to accentuate the sheer number of new faces and things for her to see.

She giggled "Makes me want to take something apart!"
