Points of Interest:
Jedi Temple (exterior/public structure). The public face of this location, the temple was restored from ruins dating back to more than 1,000 years before the modern era. The temple featured a predominant arch, which formed the entry, supported by two pillars. The large interior chamber was decorated with mosaics and pictographs of alien design, the creators of which died out some twenty years after the temple was completed. A vaulted, cathedral ceiling featured ornate designs. The back of the temple featured a crypt, with 5 sarcophagi inset into the floor. A hidden door in the crypt chamber led to a turbolift, which was used by the Underground to access the rebel base below. A few monastic chambers and private meditation rooms have been added, as well as a small droid corral for the architect droid that serves as the temple's groundskeeper.

Rebel Base (underground facility). Built from the remains of an Imperial Research Station, the rebel base was located underground, beneath the temple. Retrofitted with Corellia Digital communications technology, the base served as both a safehouse and monitoring station. It's location allowed it to serve as a telecommunications hub for TKO Search & Rescue, as well as the Runners or members of the Underground operating in the Kathol Outback. The base could provide accommodations for up to 25 personnel comfortably, or as many as 35 in a pinch.

Landing Field. Situated approximately 175 meters northeast of the temple.

Hangar Bay. Concealed within the hillside against which the temple is constructed, the hangar bay is connected to the rebel base by way of a pair of underground tunnels. It is a small docking bay, able to accommodate a light freighter and a handful of one-man fighters at best.

Description: The ruins of a temple, whose benign appearance was used by the Imperial Remnant to mask the presence of an Imperial Research Station, today both the temple and the hidden research facility have been restored and put to use for the Underground. Originally a restoration project undertaken without intent to create a Jedi Temple, the need for a place where Jedi could seek solitude and reflection in the Outback, coupled with the discovery of the hidden research facility beneath the temple, prompted the current utilization of the facilities. The base relied on subterfuge for its defense, possessing no turbolasers or weaponry with which to fend off a direct attack against the ruins. Instead, the base featured a powerful shield generator and anti-personnel defenses that would serve to buy time for occupants to escape through the hangar bay were the facility to be discovered.

History: The underground Imperial Research Station was constructed from out of modular units by the Imperial Remnant in 8 ABY, under the direction of Moff Kentor Sarne. Using the ruins of the 300 year old temple as cover, entry and exit into the facility was through a turbolift concealed within the crypt chamber. The facility was abandoned the same year, when Moff Sarne recalled his research teams to Kal'Shebbol. The temple and facility were later discovered by the crew of the New Republic ship, FarStar.

Intent: To provide the Kathol Outback with a place where its few Jedi characters can meet or meditate/reflect in solitude, while also providing a functional environment in which the activities of the Underground and its many NFUs are provided a safehouse.
