Strengths:
- Very Fast: The TX-5 was already a fast podracer. With heavy modifications to its repulsorlift engine and turbofans the TX-5 can reach ludicrous speeds with its integrated boost feature.
- Sundrop Module: Illegal? Maybe. A clear edge in the unforgiving world of podracing? Most definitely.
- All weaknesses associated with the Sundrop Module
- TX-5's boost lowers maneuverability by 1 stage
- Heavier weight makes it less maneuverable than most lighter frames
A labor of love on the part of Konan and some very trusted underground chop shops, the Sunspot is Konan's dedicated podracer. Made from an old TX-5 Mandalorian pod racer, the Sunspot has made heavy modifications to both the aesthetic and inner workings of the design. Firstly, the pod has been swapped out almost entirely. Much of the open design while lighter, was completely unsafe for use in an underground race setting where weapons were common and the speeds could kill. Various speeders were fixed to the engines before it was decided that the best way to make it look good and stay functional was to mash a few together. The pod took on a look more similar to a small skycar while the inside kept the podracer's original controls. Various extra buttons and switches were added so that Konan could monitor and maintain speeds or make drastic maneuvers on the fly. His favorite gamble, the Sundrop Module, was also added. Repulsor Coils from a TX-7 repulsor engine were added to the TX-5's for added stability and the Turbofans were modified, enlarging their size to allow for more extensive cooling and power control options. Again, Konan declined to add weapons, claiming they dirtied the sport of racing.
Ironic from an illegal Star Racer.
