Private The sun behind the clouds

My journey today takes me to Arcania, a small planet renowned for its far-reaching scientific and medical research, a perfect place for me to seek out information and perpetual knowledge. It's with a cheerful step, arms swinging along my body with my childlike appearance, that I walk along a street leading to a particular place. The Zethussaln Zenith is home to healers who could potentially be of interest to me.

I walk towards the entrance and look at the large door with a smile. I have fond memories of Arcania, and a scientist friend of mine is also in the area, so maybe I'll drop in and say hello to her afterwards, who knows? A chance to see good old Anna again.

I'm not here for her though, so I decide to enter the building.

I calmly make my way to a member of staff, someone who can give me some information. I look around, taking in as much information as I can. One detail I forgot to hide is my powerful aura in the force. If there are user forces in the area, and there probably are, no doubt my presence has already alerted them.
To make things easier, I rummage around in my satchel and take out my coffee thermos.

I look at the staff member with a smile.

"Hello my good man, I'm looking for healers, would you know where I could find some?"

After formulating my request, I can't help taking a good sip of coffee, I'm addicted to the stuff, well I'm kidding a firrerreo can't be addicted to human drinks. I'd have to drink gallons and gallons of it.

As Ezorea finished healing the young boy who had come in with a severe cut on his arm, she felt a wave of relief wash over her. The wound had closed cleanly, thanks to both her medical skills and the advanced healing techniques she had learned from her family. The boy's mother thanked her profusely, and Ezorea gave her a reassuring smile before turning her attention back to the task at hand.

Today had been particularly busy, but Ezorea thrived in these moments. Each patient she healed brought her a step closer to the approval she sought from her family.

Ezorea took a moment to tidy up her workspace, carefully organizing the instruments and making sure everything was in its proper place. The methodical nature of this task brought her a sense of calm amidst the bustling atmosphere of the Zethussaln Zenith. As she looked around, she saw the familiar faces of her colleagues, all dedicated to their work, and it filled her with a renewed sense of purpose.

Walking down the corridor, she noticed a new face among the staff, a young lady who looked slightly overwhelmed. Her aura was almost palpable, radiating with a unique energy. She could tell she wasn't just an ordinary visitor. Her curiosity piqued, she approached Aileen with her usual warm smile.

"Hello there," she said kindly, her voice cheerful. "I'm Ezorea Zethussaln, one of the healers here. You seem to be looking for someone. Can I assist you in any way?"

The staff member gave a slight bow to excuse himself after Ezorea introduced herself. The poor Arkanian male looked tired from the busy day, clearly wishing he had some caf to perk himself up.

The person I'm looking for shows up, so I put away my thermos of coffee to be polite and courteous. I then walk over to this person, who tells me his first name and asks me what I'm doing here.

At this remark I can only sketch a small smile on my face.

"Actually, I've found just the person I was looking for, and that's you!"

I point at her, although it's not at all traditional to do so, but I want to mark the importance of this meeting, after pointing at this person who is none other than the Arkanian who has just joined us. I raise my hand to my heart and introduce myself in a cheerful voice.

"My name is Yusa Yssah, I'm an itinerant healer and I thought you might be able to help me with a particular case, namely mine!"

Actually, I too could use some treatment, but I don't know if she could help me right now. I've been the victim of poisoning, and the problem is that this poison is strong stuff.

"You see, I was injured by a deadly plant on Kowak and... I've been feeling nauseous and feverish ever since."

However, if she tries to scan me without taking into account that I'm a Firrereo, the results of her scanner will panic and indicate a red result, to correct this problem simply enter the right parameters, as the metabolism of Firrereos is far higher than normal.

To her eyes, I don't look very tall either, I almost look like a child. When the healer is ill, it's complicated to self-medicate. In this particular case, because it's a special poison, my laboratory equipment won't be enough to treat it, so I need to call in a professional to help me.

Ezorea nodded thoughtfully as she listened to Yusa Yssah's explanation. "I understand your situation. Let's start by scanning you to get a clearer understanding of your condition." She continued gently. "Yusa, would you mind assisting us with a scan? We'll need to make sure our scanner is calibrated correctly."

Once adjusting the settings on her scanner to account for Firrereo physiology, then began the scan. As expected, the initial readings triggered a series of alarms. Ezorea swiftly adjusted the parameters with Yusa's help, noting the increased metabolic rates and unique vital signs. "These readings are quite unusual."

Ezorea reviewed the updated scan results, her mind racing with possible treatments. "This poison seems to be quite aggressive. We might need to look into more specialized treatments." She paused, then called in a colleague who specialized in xenobiology. "Dr. Verin, we could use your expertise here." she called into a commslink.

Dr. Verin, a seasoned xenobiologist, arrived promptly and joined them in examining the scan results. Together, they analyzed the data, sharing insights and brainstorming possible solutions.

Ezorea carefully observed the scan results, a thoughtful expression on her face after the discussion with the xenobiologist. "Yusa, can you tell us more about the plant that injured you? Was it the Kowakian Deathvine by any chance? This plant is notorious for its lethal toxins."

Ooooh, I'm so surprised! How did she guess that? It's exactly the same plant that attacked me the other day while I was investigating a campsite where the people working there had completely disappeared. It was so weird!

"Yeah, that's exactly it, they're big plants that throw spikes and infect you super fast."

Luckily for me, I'm a Firrereo, so it takes much longer for me than for other species, but still, I need to treat this before it becomes a real problem. That's why I decided to ask a healer for help instead of treating it myself. Plus, my lab resources aren't great right now, and I don't have everything I need to treat this.

I stay perfectly still while the scanner does its thing so I don't mess up the results, and I listen carefully to what they're saying. It's important to follow everything closely!

"Technically, I could help you, I'm a biologist myself, but I'm having trouble thinking clearly since the poison injection. I've already taken a dose to delay the effects as much as possible, which allowed me to come see you."

Oops, now she knows everything… Actually, I went to Kowak to investigate some mysterious disappearances, and… I almost didn't make it either! But well, at least I found out what caused it all. It's really crazy, right? I don't know how she guessed it, but honestly, she did a great job. I tip my hat to her.

Now I'm wondering what's going to happen next. What's the next step?

Ezorea blinked, momentarily taken aback. She had only pieced the symptoms together based on past cases and intuition—she hadn't expected to be right so quickly. But as the Firrerreo continued speaking, her surprise turned into something else.

"You already took a dose?" Her voice was sharp with concern, silver-white brows knitting together. "To stay on your feet?"

Her gaze flicked back to the scanner, hands instinctively checking the readings again. The poison was still working through their system, slowed but not stopped. She exhaled through her nose, steadying herself. This wasn't just a routine case—it was a situation that had already pushed them to the brink.

"Kowak… disappearances…" she murmured, filing that information away for later. Right now, the focus had to be on stabilizing them.

She straightened, eyes locking onto the Firrerreo. "Alright. You were smart to come to me instead of trying to push through this on your own. We need to counteract the toxin completely before it embeds deeper into your system. You said your lab's missing resources—tell me what you do have. I need to know what I'm working with."

Her fingers hovered over her medkit, already running through possible treatments in her mind. A standard antidote might not be enough if they had already taken something to delay the effects. She needed a full breakdown of what they had used—now.
