The Strange and the Beautiful

Akio Diachi

For it was All but a Dream

It was a planet shrouded in near total mystery, tucked away from the massive movers, shakers, and most all major ideas. As far as planets go, Nyriaan was rather underwhelming. There was no phrik, cortosis, stygium or beskar. There were no sprawling temples or massive castles. In fact the planet didn't even have sand and farm boys staring wistfully at the twin suns in the blue sky. But what it did have was something Akio was looking for.

The Force had lead him here, and now the Blue Pilgrim had to find what it was that he had been brought here for. A Sith Lord named Darth Glovoc had ages ago, in a time without mind crashed with his Sith Warship. There were not many records that had survived from those days--let alone through the Gulag plague. But The Force had pulled Akio here for a reason, and for the past week he had been traveling on foot across the treacherous terrain towards where the ship had crashed so long ago. He foraged for his food, slept in the outdoors, and made his own fires. Thankfully the low lighting had little affect on his glowing eyes. There was a lot of fungus growing here, and Akio had to work perilously hard to keep it from growing on him. He had to stop to bathe three times daily and to check his body thoroughly every night as part of his meditations.

Akio stopped as he crested this rugged, fugi covered hill and retrieved the waterskin from his side. Several quick gulps filled his parched mouth and his stomach, sending a wave of cool relief. For a moment he leaned on his Monk's Spade and looked at the valley bellow him. Against the gray overcast sky this valley bellow had condensed into a swamp-like surface. Tree like growths towered high against the marshy ground. He was getting weary and worn from this secluded and strange planet but he was nearing whatever it was that the Force sent him for. He wasn't looking forward to this next step, but challenge created improvement and it only made you stronger.

He was almost there. He could feel it.

So he leaned on his polearm once more and ventured towards the swamp.
