The Starving and the Blind

Xeni turned towards Yurik as he strolled in, her laying sideways in the chair. 'I know. Surprising considering its size.' She sat properly in the seat and opened up her main frame, her MMAD bracelet connecting the ship with her mind. Just as Yurik and herself noticed some type of energy coming their way, the ship shook. Xeni grasped for the dash as Yurik fell. Something or someone obviously did not want them here. Bloody fantastic.

Systems report! "Shields were on 60% out of 100%. Some damage taken to the lower quarters." Increase shields to 80% and boosters from 30% to 70%. "Energy shifted." Find us a landing and quick! Detect and avoid anything being shoot in our direction! "Auto detection enabled. Scanning surface for clear landing. . ."

That was going to take too long. And she had a feeling that whatever hit them was not explorer friendly. 'Yurik! Buckle up and help man the ship. I can't exactly tell what's going on,' she ordered, not taking the time to be friendly. She's been under enough fire in her life. One way or another, they were going down. She just hoped in one piece.

Valik was unimpressed by the actions panicked crew of the presumed jedi freighter. He kept up the attack, firing at the freighter in an attempt to disable it. The ship might have been useless to him, it's cargo as well, but it's passengers, it's passengers were a rather nice commodity. Force users, as weak or untrained as the ones he'd sense would be easy prey to capture, subjugate, imprison, and experiment upon.

Before Valik could go for a killing blow however, a third ship dropped out of hyperspace. Compared to the two freighters in combat the ship was massive, a whole kilometer and a half long. Valik's ship quickly veered to the side, dodging an electrified chain, before launching a missile at the ship, hoping to open a hole and make a mock hangerbay. He charged the ship, firing and firing until he made a hole big enough to get his ship in, and made a rather odd docking procedure, before suiting up. He'd explore this ship, and learn it's secrets.

The ship took it's hits, and Yurik began putting through evasive maneuvers, evading the fire. "I'll get us out of here." He said, as he moved to get around the enemy freighter, but it seemed fate had not left them alone for long. A third ship, a huge one at that, had gotten out of hyperspace, and begun to attack both Xeni's ship and it's predator with some sort of chains. Yurik swerved the ship to the side, not wanting to test the strange weaponry being fired at him. He saw the other freighter launch everything it had at the walls of the ship, creating a hole just large enough for the attacker's freighter, and Xeni's, to fit through.

"You wanted to study this ship right? I'm gonna get us in there." He said, and pushed the engines as fast as he could to get into the ship, scraping the walls as he entered. It almost seemed as if the hole in the hull grew smaller as he approached them. Odd, he could have sworn he had guessed the hole's size correctly. "I suppose we'll need to get some environment suits." He said, trying to remember if he had packed any.

Xeni stared at Yurik, her mind drawing a blank. There was something wrong with that sentence. It hit her. A look of despair engulfed her visage. She only had one suit and it certainly could not fit the giant named Yurik. A small whimper. She was going to have to go out there in that marvelous organic specimen and possibly deal with the rude, punk-Barve imbecile that had fired at them before. All by herself.

'I....I only have one,' she explained sadly. She sort of conflicted. Should she go out by herself, or stay here (hoping the man leaves), or just leave altogether. However, her curiosity killed the cat. She was going to explore this wonderful behemoth and understand, psychotic stranger or not!

'If you're going to have to stay here, would you mind being a dear and seeing what you can fix from that ruckus from the inside? It shouldn't take long to gather intel. I mean, it is living, but it's still a ship. Maybe there's a central database?' She stood from her seat and went towards a small compartment where her suit laid, folded neatly.

Valik put on his enviro-suit and headed out the door, into the ship, as another freighter entered the hull, scraping it. Funny, he didn't think their ship was any larger than his, smaller even, yet he didn't scrape the hull as he entered. Unless the hull had somehow rebuilt itself . . . Fascinating. He mused to himself, as he went further into the canals of the ship, ready to explore the organic ship. This would be the first time he had conducted a dissection from the inside, he was quite excited.

Yurik looked at the Miraluka as she put on a face of distress, and Yurik realized that Xeni likely didn't have an envirosuit his size, as while Yurik wasn't an overly large individual, he did have a rather size advantage on Xeni, and most didn't carry spare envirosuits for ones so differently shaped. His fears were confirmed as the miraluka sent him a message, confirming his suspicions. The Miraluka would have to investigate the ship alone.

"I'll get some repairs done while you're away." He said, as he followed her over to where her enviro-suit lied. "In case you need it." He said, and offered @[member="Xeni Kraylu"] his saber. "Be careful with it. It is a powerful tool, and you must always be aware of where the edge is. I may be a healer, but I cannot restore lost limbs."

Xeni raised an eyebrow as she contemplated the item being held out. It would be useful, but... A dagger and a lightsaber are two totally different ballparks. While the offer was sweet and thoughtful, t'would be no use to her due to her lack of skills. A small smile as she unrolled the suit and started to put it on.

'While I'm grateful for your offer, it would do me more harm than help attempting to wield that. Just keep your mind alert. I'll try and call you if I need help, deal?' she responded, zipping and strapping the suit on. She patted Yurik's arm before putting the helmet and securing it safely. After a few minutes of adjusting, Xeni made it outside the ship. She didn't sense anyone in the ship, so that meant that some dimwit was roaming around on this lovely creature-ship.

After inspecting her surroundings, she began to think about where the mainframe would be. The head of the ship was on the right side of their landing site, but would that contain the information she wanted? It was a ship, but it could be organized differently. However, it was good lead. Stretching, Xeni jogged off in that direction, her body on constant vigilance.

In the back of her mind, a small groan was heard but she dismissed it as a figment of her imagination. For now.

Yurik nodded, hoping the Jal Shey had had some sort of martial training that would help with the wielding of a lightsaber but instead she left unarmed, against whatever pirate or brigand had decided to attack them. She knew the Miraluka had the Force, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong, that she wouldn't be safe. Yurik was useless here, moreso than normal. Well, he wasn't completely useless, he still had a ship to help repair, but he felt useless.

Keep your mind open. He thought to himself, shrugging as the Miraluka left through the airlocks, saving himself asphyxiation. While she scampered off on her exploratory jaunt Yurik went to fixing the ship, starting with the sensors. If he could get a picture going of the ship and it's corridors it would help her tactically, as well as possibly gather some information the Miraluka would find useful. If she wanted to communicate with him she'd be able to, provided she wasn't too terribly far away, and he'd be able to respond, one of the benefits of his Anzati heritage being a rather nice potency for telepathy and mentalism. He had said earlier that he wasn't the strongest of talents, a deception on his part, but he'd break through his cover if it helped the woman. After all, part of this was his fault.

Valik continued into the various corridors and explored, finding the ship to be quite odd. While he knew the ship to be organic from the analysis of various objects in the Jedi Archives at Tython which he stole, it was not quite easy to discern from the surroundings. Scans revealed little in the functioning of the ship, how it's parts and makeup differed from normal. Looking through his pack he found a large probe and summoned it towards him with the Force, not bothering to physically attempt to grab it in the odd zero-gravity environment.

Taking the probe in his hands he went to one of he walls, raised his hand, and thrust it into the wall, before establishing a link with his datapad, and analyzing the ship's reactions.

Graaarggh! Xeni clutched her helmet in response to the intruding mental growl. Obviously, the ship was awake. And something had happened to it. Xeni shook away the small ache and continued on, this time more discreetly. She had a gut feeling that whatever being boarded this ship as well was doing unpleasant things to it, if that sound was any indication.

Her MMAD did quick scans every now and then and storing any information, sending a copy to her datapad that she left on her ship. She stalked on towards the front, her vision sifting through the layers of the Force when a different lighted aura popped out from the Vagabond's. She had just turned around a corner when she swiftly spun around again and pressed herself flush against the wall. She cursed under her breath. She had hoped they had gone in the opposite direction. If this was built normally, then the mainframe shouldn't be that far off. The Vagabond's aura reached out to her slowly, identifying her being before settling down again. Silence. She had to get past this individual ,but she doubted she could without them instigating anything. Though they were a Barve in her opinion.

It was then the wall sort of cupped around her hand, as if a stepping stone. Xeni glanced down before a smirk crossed her face. It is pretty dark in here, wasn't it? She faced the wall and conveyed her wish to the ship. Eventually small ledges jutted from the wall and trailed up to the high- vaulted ceilings. She stretched before quietly launching herself at the wall, catching at walls.
Surely, she could crawl past the fool, no?

After some wiring mishaps, a few accidental shocks and a few utterances that Yurik was glad the younglings of the galaxy didn't have to hear, he had finally gotten the sensors up and running. Except for that one blip, that couldn't be right. That little issue should be fixed with a just little re-calibration . . . except that messed everything else up. So Yurik tried putting it back, and then going through a little workaround to fix the sensors, but . . . that didn't seem to work either.

Ceasing to mess with the sensors, Yurik Rodecken went out to a window, a transparisteel port, and looked outside in amazement. The hole that he and the ruffian had entered was . . . no longer there. The damage had healed itself somehow, and the atmosphere had sealed. He pondered for a moment, before deciding there was only one way to test his theory, and thus went to the loading ramp, and then decided to go outside.

Valik continued to examine his datapad and the data that was being uploaded. The chemical composition was definitely organic, the 'circuitry' or nervous system was rather efficient, but he wasn't getting all of the data for something. The stream's speed was decreasing rapidly. Terabytes were turning to gigabytes to megabytes. As he looked up he found half the probe on the ground, and the other half seemed absorbed by the wall. It had shut itself around the probe, devouring it in a sense. Unaware of @[member="Xeni Kraylu"]'s presence around him he seethed, and began thinking. He didn't have another probe to examine the ship, he'd have to try to backtrack to his ship. Unless he could managed to take a sample of the ship for further study. Grabbing a cutting blaster he began to charge it up to focus a sharp, fine beam that could hopefully cut him off a skin sample of the creature.

Biting her lower lip, she looked down. Right below her, was the stranger fiddling with some type of equipment. Never once did she imagine herself climbing on the ceiling of an organic ship, clinging to the sticky walls like a spider. The walls shifted, drawing her attention to the half-eaten probe below. She stifled her mirthful chuckles. What the idiot gets! Ever so slowly, Xeni crawls across the ceiling eventually making it around the corner, and (possibly) safe to jump down from.
After landing on her feet shakily (and with some slight pain), and drenched with sweat, Xeni pressed on; one hand on the wall, the other holding up her MADD. The central database shouldn't be too much further... However, her attention wandering, the walls tensing quite tightly in preparation for something....

Warren Valik continued to cut into the ship as Xeni Kraylu scavenged about. To her credit as she plunged to the floor she was silent. The same could not be said about her landing however, as Valik heard her boots hit the floor. He turned around, examined the woman, then clenched his fist and ripped it down, creating a telekinetic force that would manifest behind her helmet and violently pull it to the ground, aiming crack her transparisteel helmet.

The ramp of the freighter descended to the ground Yurik Rodecken braced for asphyxiation, or was it freezing that happened first? In any case his hunch was right, and Yurik did not suddenly perish, instead breathing much appreciated air.

"This is Yurik. Atmosphere has been added to the ship. I'm moving to your location." @[member="Xeni Kraylu"]

"This is Yurik. Atmosphere has been added to the ship. I'm moving to your location." Huh? Re- Sudden Piling Force blinded her as she was shoved headfirst into the ground. A split second and all Xeni could do is brace for impact and possibly for impaling.

THUD! Xeni paused and then released her breath. Her helmet had not...cracked? A nanosecond of hesitation. Oh, right! She had it replaced recently with Jal She- Now is not the time! She bolted to her feet and whirled around to face the stranger, which by his stance made it obvious who did what. You punk ass Barve! A quick glance around her, looking for anything to help defend her, before kneeling down and touching the floor of the ship. I hate to ask this.... She focused her concentration in communicating with the ship, persuading the being to perhaps maybe attacking the person? He was damaging the poor thing anyways! Surprisingly, the ship did not repulse her communication and instead, unbeknownst to both, began to wrap itself around the stranger's feet.

Xeni grunted in small frustration when nothing was said or sounded back. Well, there goes that plan. Wasting no time, Xeni fled towards her destination, her feet barely touching the ground. 'YURIK! Crazy Force User! Not Good! Be careful!' She sent into the channel, in hopes of warning the lad as she rounded another corner.
