OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a personal home and teaching place for Issar Rae'Velis since his move to Tython
  • Canon: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: The Spiral Way // Issar Rae'Velis
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Issar Rae'Velis' home, "The Spiral Sanctuary"
  • Classification: Residence and Monastery
  • Location: Tython
  • Affiliation: Issar Rae'Velis // NJO
  • Accessibility: The Sanctuary is remote and difficult to find without guidance or significant familiarity with Tython's wild terrain. There are no roads or markers beyond natural landmarks and the subtle spiral stones leading toward it. The journey requires patience, resilience, and a sensitivity to the Force, as the sanctuary seems to call quietly to those who are ready.
  • Description: Hidden deep within the wilds of Tython, the Spiral Sanctuary is a modest, hand-built dwelling where Master Issar Rae'Velis lives and teaches in quiet reflection. Surrounded by ancient trees and weathered stones, the home itself is a simple wooden structure with wide porches, sloped tiled roofs, and walls of sliding panels that welcome the shifting light. A stone garden stretches beyond it, where raked spirals weave between boulders and flowering shrubs, a living meditation shaped by the seasons. A nearby spring-fed stream murmurs along the edge of the grounds, its voice soft and constant, while spiral-carved stones mark the winding path that leads visitors to the threshold. It is a place of stillness, patience, and quiet reverence, where those willing to seek its solitude may find lessons not through lectures, but through presence.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • The Spiral Garden: A carefully tended stone garden where Issar rakes spiral patterns daily. Students may be asked to rake new spirals, walk them mindfully, or even spar among the shifting lines, testing their balance between serenity and motion.
  • The Meditation Hall: An open, simply adorned wooden chamber. No technology. No adornments beyond a low hearth for tea and incense. Here, Issar leads slow, ritualistic movement meditations or one-on-one guidance.
  • The Stream's Voice: A nearby spring-fed stream, whose slow trickling serves as the Sanctuary's only consistent sound. Spiral-carved stones mark the approach to the Sanctuary, placed carefully near the edges of the water where the current can be heard but not disturbed.

SECURITY
Low
- There are no artificial defences, alarms, or weaponry. The greatest shield of the Sanctuary is its remoteness and the natural currents of the Force that make finding it (unless guided) very difficult. Issar himself is its primary defence, should the need arise, but conflict is deeply unwelcome here.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
After the rebirth of Tython under the New Jedi Order's stewardship, Master Issar Rae'Velis — a solitary practitioner of the Spiral Way — withdrew from the bustle of the main Temple to establish his own sanctuary. Not out of disdain, but necessity: the Spiral Way demanded stillness, integration with the natural world, and a rhythm slower than the war-torn galaxy allowed.

He found a glade at the confluence of several minor vergences in the Force — an old, sleeping place of power — and there he raised the Sanctuary of the Spiral with his own hands and minimal aid. Its construction was a prayer as much as a project, each stone placed according to the whisper of the Force.

Today, few seek the Sanctuary. Fewer still find it. But for those who do, it is a place of profound peace — and of lessons that cannot be taught in words.
