The Sons of Freedom are led solely by Thall Marr, the Liberator. Under each Governor as they are called, is a loose organization. Due to the nature of the Sons of Freedom, each branch could be operated and led in a different way, with only a few connections.
Description:
The Sons of Freedom are a loosely held together force of pirates, smugglers, and terrorists all sworn to follow the Liberator, Thall Marr. The Sons of Freedom do not focus on one single form of criminal activity, instead they cover a wide range of areas, all dependent on the location and decisions of the local leader. The only form of crime the Sons of Freedom have never gone into is Slave Trade or capture. The entire force of the Sons of Freedom is rather loose, with Governors in charge of almost all the matters in their sphere of influence. Only when the Liberator calls on them, due they unite in one goal.
History:
The Sons of Freedom trace their origins back to the Hutts. Thall Marr, a slave to a minor Hutt lord, gathered the others slaves to him, and led them in revolt against their cruel master. They took devastating losses in the battle, but they were successful in taking their freedom, and stealing their former masters personal ships, they fled the system before the Hutts could retaliate.
Chased, and running low on supplies, the weak among the survivors began to die due to a lack of food and medicine, and knowing they had little other choice, led his ragtag fleet of ships in a raid on a Hutt convoy. Using the few armed freighters they had, they launched their surprise attack on a small slave convoy, seizing many of the ships before they realized what was happening. Adding them to their growing force, Thall Marr spoke to the slaves they had liberated, and they pledged to follow him.
From there, Marr began to fight a larger war effort against the Hutts, liberating more slaves, and taking more ships, until they were eventually forced to battle by a large mercenary force commissioned by the Hutts. The former slaves took heavy losses, and lost many ships, but they proved the victor that day, and were able to salvage several powerful warships from the mercenary fleet. Realizing though that he couldn't keep up these attacks, Thall led those left to Ord Janos. There, they found an old Separatist Alliance military complex and warehouse, as well as hundreds of families fleeing a local political conflict.
Marr gave them the simple choice, to join his people, or leave. The refugees refused both offers, and prepared to fight. By this time, Marr had become a cold, hardened man, and so without issue, he led his vanguard force, made up of the most ruthless killers he had, against the refugees. Hundreds of men, women, and children were killed in the following battle. On the site of the battle, Marr declared the formation of the Sons of Freedom.
From there, the Sons of Freedom began to expand their power base. They contacted the various towns and villages across Ord Janos, and offered them the simple choice, to pay protection to the Sons of Freedom, or be destroyed. Four towns had to be razed before the rest of the planet realized it was their best option. With a source of income secured, Marr turned his forces effort to piracy and raid in the surrounding systems. Sons of Freedom fighters and armed freighters ran rampant across the neutral space, stealing cargo and ships from numerous other worlds organizations. The expansion into the spice trade and drug trafficking came along after that.
Now, with their sector of space secured, the Sons of Freedom have begun to turn their attention to other avenues of revenue and terror.
Territory:
Planets:
Ord Janos-Old CIS base re-purposed to be a pirate stronghold
Sernpidal-Pirate base located in orbit of the world
Other:
The Sons of Freedom navy is dedicated to fast, lethal fighter assaults against unsuspecting targets, followed by larger ships loaded with boarding parties and cargo space.
Sons of Freedom weapons tend to be similar to the more standard issue Hutt weaponry, due to the fact much of their technology is from stolen Hutt stuff. However, recently the Sons of Freedom have begun to look into new areas for their weapons and ships, with Thall Marr even looking to corporations to begin to develop and construct a new generation of Sons of Freedom warships...
The Sons of Freedom, despite their name, are ruthless killers and butchers, and do not hesitate to eliminate anything or anyone that gets in their way. Enemy, ally, or civilian. The only thing the Sons of Freedom actually do that reflects their name, is their hatred of slavery. Due to their origin as former slaves, the Sons of Freedom have sworn to never be the slaves to any other again, and will launch raids and invasions on known slave camps, freeing them. This often gives them a steady flow of dedicated warriors, whom they mold into the soldiers and followers they need.
Due to their history as well, the Sons of Freedom tend to have a disposition for hostility towards Hutts. This has sometimes been seen in terror attacks against Hutt affiliated businesses or jobs, assassination of individuals, pirate raids.
The Sons of Freedom have no species preference, but the majority of the members tend to be Human.
