Welcome, new and old faces, to the SILVER JEDI ORDER.
Your staff and I want this long-standing Jedi Faction to be a friendly environment where you can discuss ideas, meet new writers, role-play with pure imagination and feel part of something special and unique to the Chaos site.
To do that, I have created a Code Of Conduct.
I would be grateful if you could read over this and become familiar with how we want the Faction to run. In order to maintain a Faction that cares about it's members, it's content and reputation both IC and OOC, the Code of Conduct must be followed and respected as all rules are followed and respected across the wider site.
This Code of Conduct also applies across our Discord server and is subject to cover more areas if they are brought up.
Racial / Ethnic
Includes conversations and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
• promotes racial / ethnic hatred
• alludes to a symbol of racial / ethnic hatred
Sexuality / Violence
Includes conversations and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
• refers to extreme and/or violent sexual acts
• refers to violent real life actions / news
• refers to pornography
• belittles or mocks a person's sexual identity
Real-Life Threats
Includes conversations and/or links to websites containing such language or images which target any writer within the SJO or wider Chaos site that:
• goes beyond acceptable conversation people may call 'banter' or 'joking'
• is seen as dangerous, aggressive and/or unsociable behaviour
Obscene / Vulgar / Inappropriate Language
Includes conversations and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
• refer to inappropriate references to biological anatomy
• are pornographic in nature
• insult, attack or intimidate other writers
Harassing / Defamatory
Includes conversations and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
• insulting other writers and their creations
• lewd material or messages when you have been told no
• degrade or bully a writer if they have said something you simply do not agree with
• forces another writer into doing something you want
• results in ongoing harassment to other writers across private messages, e-mails etc beyond Chaos
Harassment takes many forms, and is not necessarily limited to the above, but the general intent. Repeatedly targeting a specific writer is harassment can lead to more severe action. The idea behind this is to prevent any one player from consistently being uncomfortable in the Faction and forum.
Illegal Activities
Includes conversations and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
• references to selling / downloading / sharing / performing illegal activities
Spamming / Trolling
Includes conversations and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
• excessively communicate the same phrase, similar phrases, or pure gibberish
• create threads for the sole purpose of causing unrest on the forums under the name of the SJO
• cause disturbances in forum threads, such as picking fights, making off topic posts that ruin threads, insulting other writers or starting conflicts out of nowhere
• make non-constructive posts
• abuse the good-nature of the SJO to derail their progress
• leak, report and/or mock SJO IC / OOC discussions and plans to other Factions with the intent to simply cause drama and confrontation for malicious purposes
• make any potentially game-changing actions for the SJO IC without the consent of the FO or staff -
Sharing Private / Confidential Conversations
Includes conversations and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
• including chat logs, email / PM correspondence between a fellow writer or staff member
• create threads to belittle another writer on the forums
If you wish to discuss or report a fellow writer with conversational evidence, please contact the FO or a member of staff in total confidence and privacy - no matter the issue, we still wish to maintain people's dignity and deal with things in a mature, safe and proper way.
Toxicity
Includes conversations and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
• spread gossip, rumour, slander and other potentially nasty and aggressive material about another writer or Faction
• bring a general negative and non-collaborative and non-supportive vibe to the SJO Faction numerous times
• be two-faced, lie and / or deceptive to other writers for personal and / or another Faction's gain
PUNISHMENT FOR BREAKING THE CODE
This functions on a warning system. These do not go away over time and are non negotiable.
Break a rule once and it is a warning.
Break a rule twice it is a final warning and one day Discord ban
Break a rule three times and you will be evicted from the Silver Jedi Faction and Discord server and reported to a Board Admin
While these repercussions may seem harsh, we feel very strongly that this behavior has no place in the SJO and on Chaos. If you wish to act in a manner not fit for the SJO, then please feel free to move to another Faction and we will not see it as a bad thing or part on bad terms at all.
We are not children.
We are all of a decent and mature mind and will respect our fellow writers of any sex, creed, persuasion or with disabilities. They are human beings too, and have feelings and personal highs and lows we don't know about but should consider when tempted to do or say anything that could lead to problems.
As I always say, this if your Faction and I need your help to keep it that way. I am simply here to guide us forward, maintain order and enjoyment, deal with any issues that may come our way and bridge relations across Factions that attract new writers to partake in our adventures and development.
We are a Faction that promotes fun and collaborative writing with near-to-zero stress and salt.
