Wassakah

837 ABY

Causstik had Just turned twelve years old this very day. He was only now 6 foot. Still the runt of the litter, but his nest mother had promised him he still had much time to grow and despite his shortcomings he was still the most capable hunter of his youth. In fact it was these very shortcomings that fueled Causstik’s desire to be the best hunter. So he often tried his hardest to excel at all things he did.

But, that did not stop his siblings from picking on him. Often calling him “little brother” despite him being the oldest. That all ended today. Today he was going to prove himself worthy enough to be recognized as a fully grown T’doshok. His father had brought him to Wassaka along with one of his other brothers to hunt Wookiees. Whoever claimed the most Jagannath points during this hunt earned the right to call himself an adult.

Causstik inspected their prey carefully before the beast were released and choose the one that everyone knew to be the most vicious of Wookiees. A silver back, he stood eight feet tall, had one eye, and rippled with muscle beneath his coat. He had already killed two hopefuls last hunt and they had just barely managed to recapture him. Causstik knew if he wanted everyone to respect him he had to kill this creature. So, it was that Causstik found himself stalking the Wookiee through the woods.

He had wounded it and was now following it’s blood trail with his scattergun raised. He found the trail led him to a cave, but his heat sensing eyes picked up no sign of life in the dank dark tunnel. Causstik knew he couldn't lose his prey though. All the other hunters had already claimed their pelts. If he came back with nothing he would be shamed and regarded as a child for another year! Causstik could not let that happen. He withdrew an ancient sword from his back sheath and began to march slowly into the cave.

Times had been easy once. Even if Darth Abyss already carried the name and demeanour of a sith lord, his power was still far away from reaching that level. He had been named a knight of the order not to long ago, and with it earned the right to act independent from his master and the other sith. It would be long until his true rise to power would begin, but he already had set his mind to creating the first servants to his own, personal course instead of relying on those the sith offered.

That was why the man had come to Wassakah, a world used for a ancient rite of passage for Trandoshans. His body was shrouded in the same ragged black robe he wore when he was first introduced to the dark side, the same he would wear for the ages to come. His steps, both of his natural and his cybernetic leg left no sound as the stalked the tunnels. He had followed the most impressive wookie today's hunt had to offer, as he assumed that the beast would be running from the most skilled, and most ambitious hunter.

Abyss lurked in the shadows when he saw him, the frail, small alien at least when compared to the others of his kind. He knew better then to judge him by size and appearance. Abyss himself wasn't a very impressive specimen, not even for the low standards of humanity. Thin, pale and physically fragile, and yet he had overcome these limits countless times by dedication and ingenuity. The hunter would probably be the same. Playing with a simple club in his right, the sith began to hunt the hunter. He only had one shot at this, because he couldn't say for certain if would've been able to overcome the alien in an open fight.

Causstik entered the bowels of the cavern carefully. He knew that everything rode on this hunt. This one pelt would make or break him. Causstik had wounded the wookiee but even so, it was not to be trifled with. He slowly made his way forward, his heat sensing eyes picking out small smatterings of blood here and there. He was soon to find out that T’doshok were’nt the only creatures capable of seeing in the dark…

A loud roar could be heard and suddenly the Wookiee pounced. It fell from the top of the cave, but Causstik was quick on his feet. He rolled out of the Wookiee’s path and sprang to his feet. The Wookiee roared again and Causstik raised his blade. Fear was plain on Causstik’s face. His heart raced, but he knew he would slay this creature. The wookiee charged and Causstik met him head on, blade raised high above his head.

The Wookiee towered two feet over Causstik, but he was determined, young, and foolish. The beast slammed into the Trandoshan youth and he went sprawling against the wall of the cave. He slumped to the ground and the Wookiee charged him again. Dazed and confused Causstik slowly picked himself off the ground. The Wookiee heaved him high into the air and Causstik kicked him right in the jewels. The Wookiee let out a cry of anguish and dropped the Trandoshan. Causstik raised his blade and savagely cut into the Wookiee’s hamstring.

The beast fell to a knee and Causstik hefted his blade into the air one final time and struck the silverback down with one mighty blow. The beast toppled to the floor headless and Causstik let out a hiss of triumph

As the headless wookie dropped to the ground, a soundless shadow slowly took shape behind [member="Causstik Rahn"]. Darth Abyss, released the cloak of darkness that had so carefully shrouded him, and instead unleashed all of his inner flame, born from a strong hate for all things living, into a single blow of his club, aimed at the head of the trandoshan.

"Sleep."

The whisper would reach the aliens ears as the crude weapon came down, a unpleasant but ultimately human sound. It obviously wasn't the most elegant solution, but Abyss never had been one to do something extensively complex if a simple solution offered the same, or sufficiently similar result.

Satisfied with his work the young sith dropped his makeshift weapon to the ground, and fiddled for a small notebook hidden inside his robe. His knowledge and research for the arcane arts was fairly limited, but it had to do for now. Even if he hadn't found the full extent of power yet, his ingenuity was something he had inherited from birth, and it would get the job done, even if the solution once again wouldn't be very elegant.

He began his task by placing cuffs on each of the alien's limps, making sure to tightly tie him to the ground to avoid an early, violent end to his experiment. Then he placed bowls around them, arcane smoke rising from them as the Korriban incense began to burn within.
