SETTING INFORMATION

• City Name: Carannia
• Classification: Government building
• Location: Serenno
• Affiliation: The Crown of Serenno
• Demographics: Nobility and the civil service, servants and slaves and palace guards. The palace is highly elitist, thus higher your rank the more privileges you have. Though the palace guard and the crown hold the final authority here, they are less likely to care about what a slaves says, or a lowly servant, compared to a noble person.
• Wealth: High, as this is where elite gather to help run Serenno, it raises the wealth of building a lot. Though some poorest reside here as well.
• Stability: High, as the palace guard make sure of it.
• Description: The palace is a red brick building, with lot's of rooms in it. The brick walls is reinforced, to withstand direct hit from any small arms fire, or small explosives. Though anything more than that, it would begin to buckle. It looks quite stunning from outside, and it is quite often appears on postcards. Though tourists are not allowed in grounds, they can see it from outer wall. They do like watching the changing guards, and other minor ceremonies that happen on daily occurrence.

POINTS OF INTEREST:

• Council of Lords

The council of lords, is where the budget is debated, and what laws should be enacted. The only people allowed in here are highest ranking nobility, or the person they sent in their stead, who have their house ring, and signed letter of authority. No one else is allowed in except guards to keep the peace, though all laws have to be signed of by the crown, and budget plans. Though most do without a hitch. The chamber itself has a large round wooden table, at the table is a seat for every major noble household of serenno, plus a seat for ether the monarch or their representative. The room also has a balcony for others to watch, ether members of the noble families, or distinguished guests. Then their is a secret voting room, and behind their a is also here the is a turbolift to underground bunker.

• The Barracks

The barracks is where Serenno Royal Guard regiment is billeted. They are behind the main palace, but have access to whole of the palace, and inside they have access to underground bunker, as well as a the secret subway that stop here, so they can move goods to and from the palace securely, though it does stop below here, in case anyone tries to infiltrate the palace.

• The Underground Bunker

The galaxy as everyone know is not a safe place, and sooner or later, serenno may come under attack. The bunker is where the crowned monarch goes, in the in the event of an invasion. The bunker is capable of withstanding a nuclear strike, and is where the command control of the serenno forces can be done, both in space and on the ground. They can hold down their for best part of three years, the regiment and all heads of each noble household and a servant required, as well military chiefs of staff. The shield that protect Carannia city and power supply for it, is also based in here. The Serenno Royal Guard has always got troops protecting the bunker, as it is a high priority target for any invader.

• The Royal Chamber

This is where the monarch lives and sleeps, the first room is a lounge where they can hold private meetings. Then through door their is where she can live, read, do her job, it has a balcony overlooking the palace gardens. This decorated to their personal taste, and height of luxury in all rooms, and has access to a private swimming pool.

• The Palace Garden

The garden is designed to be in flower no matter the season, there's all so there was colour all year round. There gardener also keeps a maze going, made out of ever green ferns. In the center of this, their is a nice marble seat, and ferns are high enough to stop any prying eyes.

• The Cellar

The cellar is where they keep all the wines, and spirits, and ale. Their is second chamber here, that goes underneath, this a chamber she use to teach force sight, as once in their she can erect a barriers you're in a maze, and in complete darkness. So you need to use force sight, to get out other wise you will be down there sometime.


HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The palace was only recently completed, once Sabrina Kotass became the serenno first queen, it was a way to reinforce her political power, and to centralise the government around her. This was done by being able to give patronage to people who where loyal to her, also having the rumour mill closer to her. She could find out who was plotting against her easier, also she could see who was not cooperating by their absences, when votes where taking part.

Sabrina became queen thanks to back of the sith empire, she got this due to part political instability. As nobles liked the dominion rule, which came before theirs. Though she needed a catalyst to help her become queen, so she hired mercenaries not to aid her and make her ruler, but to attack Serenno, showing the nobles that they where weak, after recent wars. She used her troops to help force the mercenaries of the planet. Then claimed the throne for herself, with a few backers. Though many objected about his, and one tried to fighter her, but he had quick demise, in front of the rest council. This lead many of them reluctantly to fall in line behind the sith lord, as to object without a plan may lead to their own deaths. This made her reign very tentative to begin with, so she built this to help secure her power base on the planet. As it has all noble near her, and thus easier to keep an eye on them.
