Description

Although the Red Raven criminal syndicate is not the sort of nation to invest in a legitimate, standing army, they are the sort to pilfer one. As the Galactic threats continued to rise, a decision was made by the upper echelon of the Syndicate: there was a need for big guns, and they would get them. As such, the Red Ravens set their eyes upon Mon Calamari, where the native engineers were working on restoring an ancient vessel: a prototype Viscount-class Star Defender. Needless to say, the engineers would see their work interrupted quite spectacularly, for the syndicate swooped in and stole the ship...with a bang.

Yet that was not the conclusion of the Red Ravens' daring escapades. No, they were just getting started! Next, they decided to "go big, or go home." Sure, they have a three thousand meter behemoth to work with, but now they set out to add even more. Thus, an innocent mining facility was targeted on Enigma Prime. Why? Stygium, that's why. In yet another daring raid, the syndicate immobilized one of the world's mining facilities and made off with a handsome portion of the element; more than enough to sneak a behemoth under the noses of the enemy.

Now, the Red Ravens had all the pieces to their puzzle and turned to Stargo Defense Enterprises to put them together. The corporation had eagerly participated in the raids from the very start, practically spoiling the syndicate with its assistance in every venture they launched. As such, it was only natural that SDE handled the restoration and refit of the captured Viscount. Utilizing the new shipyard constructed at Antecedent, the corporation dove into work headfirst.

Thus, the Red Dress was born.

Easily, this Star Defender was the largest project that the company had undertaken since the destruction of its Druckenwell Shipyards. However, this did not deter SDE from putting forth their very best efforts for the Ravens. Utilizing the techniques that they had coined at their destroyed, Druckenwell facility, the Red Dress began with a complete and total update to the hull and frame. A combination of metals were utilized to accomplish this reinforcement: Quadranium and Turadium being chief amongst them. While this would grant the vessel an impressive sum of durability in the event of shield droppage, it did come at the high price of slowing the ship down considerably.

The next step revolved around re-arming the vessel to the teeth. SDE decided to go "all out" as far as armaments went, for the sake of giving the Red Ravens a fighting chance against exceptional fleets; such as those wielded by the Omega Protectorate or Fringe Confederation. As such, the Red Dress was equipped with an immense sum of Firepower capable of assaulting its adversaries at a variety of ranges. However, the incorporation of numerous offensive armaments left little room for defensive cannons, thereby resulting in a pronounced lack thereof.

Finally, the finishing touches revolved around incorporating the Stygium cloak and a handful of supplementary systems. These would allow the vessel to discreetly move about the Galaxy, thereby granting a supreme advantage to the Ravens when fleet engagements occur. However, installing a cloak that could cover a three thousand meter behemoth came at the price of Hangar space. At best, the vessel can only accommodate a single squadron, thereby forcing it to rely upon escorts to face down the threat of enemy starfighter screens.

All in all, the Red Dress is a menacing force to be wielded by the Red Ravens. It is strong. It is durable. It is balanced.

These many changes, the amount of weapons stacked on to it (I'm not quite sure if that was an improvement or not based on the 17,000m full-sized ship), and the addition of Stygium ore on top of the already flagship-sized ship, this will need to pass through the same standards as a flagship would in order to receive approval. Below are the guidelines for flagships for your convenience.

Flagships

1. Only Major Factions may own Flagships.

2. Flagships are a prefix located in the Star Wars: Open Role-Playing forum.

3. The requirements of the Flagship thread are as follows:

a. The thread must be a minimum of 400 posts.

b. There must be at least 7 writers actively involved in the thread.

c. The thread is public and is open to any other Major Faction to join.

d. The production - or possession - of the Flagship must be the thread's major focal point.

5. No player may captain a ship over 3,000 meters without the Major Faction Owner's consent.

6. No ship over 3,000 meters will be approved for any Major Faction without a completed Flagship thread.

7. Each Flagship must be labeled Unique.

This submission was never meant to be a Flagship. I'd have gone for the full 5,000 meters if that was the case.

What would you like to see to get it approved as a Destroyer? Lower the weapon count? Tweak the dimensions?

A combination of the two will work.

Done.

Reduced the dimensions to 2,400 meters.

Scaled down the armaments to match.
Capital Guns went from 330 to 270.
Warhead Launchers went from 180 to 120.
Defense Guns went from 120 to 90.

Will this suffice? Or do you have a better number in mind?
