CONTENTS
A powerful crystal of unknown origin, creating a healing effect so powerful it can cause wounds to regenerate in minutes, or even revive themselves or someone from the dead, fully healed, once a year.
Allows someone to maintain their connection to the Force, even in the presence of a Void Stone.
Imparts two times the User's normal reflexes and speed.
Improved danger sense, leading to astonishing levels of skill in blaster bolt deflection
When installed, the lightsaber blade it generates can destroy alchemized objects, as well as cut through lightsaber resistant materials with far fewer strikes.
Lightsaber blade it creates has a much higher chance of breaking every other lightsaber blade it goes against, while having no chance of breaking itself.
User cannot be Force drained while in possession of the crystal.
Repels Dark Adepts who attempt to hold it, or Dark Spirits trying to get near it.
Strengths:
Die another day: The Red Ankarres regenerative properties outstrip those of actual Ankarres Sapphires, applying a constant healing effect to the User (Also rendering them nearly immune to poison and disease) and those they focus the crystals power on while the crystal is installed in a lightsaber. It heals even very severe damage in minutes, even regenerating limbs and once a year, should its owner die while it is in their possession, it will automatically revive them on the spot, fully healed. The same goes for the person who dies in the owner's presence, provided they swipe the blade through empty air over the dead body. The User cannot feel pain but knows they are damaged when damage occurs.
Unshakable Connection: The effect of the Red Ankarres Sapphire is so powerful that even if entering an area with a voidstone, the user will still maintain their connection...but only at a quarter strength. The User also can no longer be Force Drained-but only as in, specifically, cannot have their life energy stolen to restore another's health. It does not protect against Drain Knowledge, however, Energy Vampires will find their attempt to feed blocked. It performs exactly as claimed. Your health will not be stolen. The effect is so powerful even Non Force Users could take advantage of the crystal, but only its healing, ressurective properties, and immunity to Drain. They could not use it for sensing danger or fighting.
Light-Breaker: The blade this crystal produces not only can't be broken by other lightsabers, even if synthetically powered, it also has a much higher chance of breaking lightsaber blades then should be normal, save for those lightsaber blades which are, themselves, considered unbreakable. It is also strong enough to damage alchemized objects, even cut through lightsaber resistant metals with far fewer hits than needed. This is due to the unusually powerful localization of Force Energy within the crystal, which gives it synth crystal like properties despite seemingly being a product of natural forces
Swift: Increases Users reflexes and speed by a factor of two.
Sensible: Vastly improved danger sense, leading to vastly improved skill at blaster deflection, no matter the users own personal skill, style, or weapon. A padawan gains the skill of a knight, a knight the skill of a master, a master the skill of a grand master, and a grandmaster gains skill that causes the crowd shooting at them to start wondering whether the loads of ammo they brought were enough.
Holy: Causes terrible pain to Dark Adepts who attempt to hold it, and Dark Spirits, who attempt to get near it.
Weaknesses:
One time deal: A person other than the User who has been revived by the Red Ankarres once can never be revived by it again.
Ten minute rule: If you want to revive someone with The Red Ankarres, you have a limited window in which to do so. You must get to them within ten minutes of the target having been declared legally dead.
Sadistic Choice: The limitations of the Red Ankarres means only one target can be revived once a year. One. If there is more than one person the User will have to make an agonizing decision. Also, while the User themselves by technicality, theoretically enjoys unlimited ressurections, that is solely dependant on whether they manage to keep themselves alive precisely one year after being ressurected previously. Should they die again after being revived within a year, they are dead for good. The crystal, however, will retain all of its other functions in the meantime.
Impairment: While allowing for fantastic healing, danger sense, and improved bodily speed and reflexes, it comes at the cost of being completely unable to hide in the force, use it to shield one from energy or kinetic attacks, use any type of offensive Force Power, or use any bodily enhancing power beyond Jump and Sense (Though Telekinesis seems exempt somewhat, but it is nearly always reduced by half the character's force strength, but can be used as a sort of loop hole to using the Force in battle, by hurling objects at specific targets at the right moment). Its only good really for what it covers, despite performing exactly as advertised.
Lumbering: The installation increases the gyroscopic effects of the energy field containing the blade, making it unwieldy and difficult to use without the proper strength and focus.
Sonic: Sonic weapons disable any blade it is installed in for five minutes, though not its healing effects. Something as simple as a common sonic pistol can do this. Force Scream/Bellow would shut it down twice as long.
Magic: Magic Spells that react to the crystal disable its effects for five minutes. Specifically, any type of magic spell that produces projectiles, such as certain Sith Magics like bolt of hatred or dathomir flame magic
DESCRIPTION
The Red Ankarres is named such because of its similarity in appearance to Ankarres Sapphires with its Asterism, as well as its vastly more potent healing abilities, but though it resembles Ankarres Sapphires it is in truth completely unrelated. Its lattice is completely different (And scans hint at it being some type of crystallized blood) and its potent regenerative effects are so powerful that many argue that it could not possibly have been created through natural means. Stories of its origin abound, from it being the remnant of a forbidden Alkahest Experiment, to it being the condensed blood of a Celestial, to it simply being the freak occurance of geological conditions on Tython. Whatever its origin, it imparts a rare gift many would kill to have: The ability to ressurect themselves or another upon death once a year, though they must wait a full year afterward for such ressurective power to build up again, and even prior to that, can bring someone back from the brink, all while creating a powerful, but unwieldy blade with a deep, all red core with a pink aura. Many Jedi have owned this, but never discussed their experiences, which is understandable, considering having a surefire way to cheat death would put a target on your back.
But for all its advantages, it has equal drawbacks, the owner can no longer shield themselves with force energy, nor attack with it. But considering how powerful this object is, and how it can keep you alive and fighting through the very worst damage, it is more than a fair deal.
Its last owner was Moya De Lifte, the Jedi upon whom Laertia's biot derives her appearance from, contained in her quarters in a hidden fortress on an isolated planet, with her will, despite being dead for centuries, apparently naming Bella the recipient of this priceless artifact. How Moya could possibly have known Bella would end up at that Fortress is chalked up to her abilities as a seer.
