The Quest For greatness

Akio Diachi

For it was All but a Dream
Akio stood atop the mountain overlooking the wasteland. Before he had been here, he knew it. He knew he had been trained by the Xavka Duquo, in what felt like ages ago--no, a second life. But the Chiss felt like he was watching it from someone else's life. Since his rebirth, his memories were sporadic at best, but they were there/

Now the Force had pulled him here, and without question, Akio had followed. First he he had hitched a ride from Tenloss to Dorumas Kaas, then from there he had stowed away on a ship to Naboo, that later led him here. The trip was long and roundabout but, he was following the Force every step, which was what made it worth every long, winding way.

And now, here he stood. Waiting for its next pull. Like a strong vigilant man stands upon the wall, the thin-bodied, short Chiss stood on the precipice. The hot wind picked up, making his armor, the Hsepo vesir, flutter softly. Its loud Force aura would attract attention, he supposed that it was the will of the Force, either way, whether he attracted the attention or not. The Force had given him that armor, it had led him to it in a long protracted fight, and now he would wear it proudly, just like his other gear that it had led him on.

One does best to not always live in the past, Akio reminded himself, but through it we may often know of the future.

She wandered.

She had wandered for a long time.

She had wandered long since her exile from her homeland.

The exile that had cost her everything, her family, her rank, the life she had known.

The exile had taken her far, to the furthest reaches of the universe, and today, to Iridonia

The exile had taught her much, both about her self, and of the galaxy as a whole. It had made her greater.

But the exile had cost her dearly. For every step she took away from the shores of her homeland, her kin grew further away

As Akio stood on the mountain top he closed his eyes. Though he was not himself one of the strongest of the users of the Force, there was one thing that he had always excelled at--sensing. Even before his rebirth he had an intuitive nature that had saved his life on many a deathly occasion. His instincts were just sharper than most, his assassin instructors had said. They did not believe in anything stronger than the blade and stealth. For the longest time Akio imbibed this belief and made it his own. It was not until he had died that he actually realized what it meant to live.

He could see, and more so sense a figure moving along the mountain. In the desolate lands as these, there were few people to be seen, and those who generally were around here were on a quest. Akio was, and he had a feeling this being was as well. He looked inward and searched the Force, was this why he was sent to this barren land?

The answer came and like that the Chiss bound down to them, his body's natural ability and flexibility lending itself over to the Force to do so.

He came to a halt before the person, his landing stirring up bits off the planet's thin topsoil. He rose to his full height and offered a slight bow, 'Greetings. I am Akio Diachi. Peace to you through the Force."

The witch looked the Chiss over impassively.

He was gifted with the force, it was clear.

Perhaps more than she, perhaps less. It was all so strange to her.

Stripped of her powers by the seer council, she felt so weak in comparison so what she once was.

Once, entire worlds had bowed to her whims. Now, she could barely lift pebbles.

But she still felt the echos of power within herself and she knew, one day, she would once again be as powerful as before.

She was two hundread at present, she did not care if it took her two hundred more years to regain her powers

She was not hostile, which was for the better, Akio supposed. The Chiss had to practice his blade more often that he would have preferred, though of course the Force was in control of all, and he was glad to bow to its whims, he was not a lover of bloodshed as he had been in his first life.

"What brings you on your journey here, Ashedynn?" Akio asked.

She was clearly one whom the Force dwelt in. Though it dwelt in all, some the wells of the Force ran deeper in. These were the Chosen Ones. He supposed she was one as well.

"Exile is the reason my feet threads the paths they do"

She responded, her eyes glowed lightly in the slowly darkening day's air, becoming more pronounced as it grew darker.

"I wander where the fates take me, as do we all. But my path is no longer tied to that of the others"

Akio gave a slight smile. Wanderers seemed to be in abundance these days. Or perhaps the Force was trying to send him a message. Only time would tell through their interaction and how it went.

"It is an honor to meet you," he said with a slight bow.

As night began to fall, the air stirred, picking up wispy strands of Akio's hair and teasing them around his face. The Chiss was unmoved against the wind, even as it caught his orange robes slightly and made them wave in the wind.

"Perhaps you should find cover in this night, this planet is full of dark and dangerous beasts," faint memories of his times hunting with Xavka Duquo shimmered in his mind. Without any plant matter for the beasts to prey upon the majority of those that remained on this desert world had reverted to predator statuses. "I am taking residence in a cave up the side of the mountain, perhaps you would prefer to pass the time there?"

"I would prefer to be among my people once again, but that is not a possibility"

Her exile was too fresh for her to feel resentment toward them yet, one day perhap, for now, all she felt was the aching loneliness of being apart from them

"So I shall accept your offer instead, though I have little worry of beast nor man"

Akio led her up the mountain along a path that was little more than a hunting trial used by local beasts. Whether these were sentient or not made little difference, the footing was rocky and the ground was hard all the way to the top. The Chiss at last made his way to the cave, a burrow that was carved into one of the clefts many ages ago by a stone-eating giant wyrm.

Inside there was little in the manner of comfort, a bed roll, a few rations, Akio's cortosis armor, his small back roll, and a pair of waterskins. It was rather dark, even more so than the land outside, but the Chiss didn't mind, the darkness was a chance to sharpen his skills in the Force sense and Force Sight.

"Please make yourself comfortable," the Chiss offered, drawing one of the weathered ration bars, "Could I interest you in some food?"

@Akio Diachi

"Not at present"

The faylin said with disinterest. She knelt on the ground patiently, resting.

Her kind needed little food, and when they did desire something, it tended to be of far higher quality than field rations.
