The Private Army

The litter bin, full of failed designs and ideas. The idea's were mostly failed ideas for the new Hutt Frigates he'd had made, but a few were top class private. Private for his private army. These contained ships, guns and armor. Yeah, the armor he'd have to have made as he didn't really work with armor, but ah well.

The Cowboy had removed his hat, guns and overcoat and he sat there in his waistcoat and trousers, looking around. He realized he needed to look somewhat formal while he was working, but yeah. He smiled, staring at the design laid out in front of him. It was of a large frigate, larger than most anyway. He had figured out ways to make it armed to the teeth and still quite fast to be honest.

On one of the boards dotted around the room lay a few small designs, stuff he wanted to make for the public, but that wasn't what this was about. Xander stared at the board right in front of him, on it, the stuff for the private army.

Why he wanted a private army was something different. He couldn't rely on the Hutt's men to help when they chose to move forward and take back the Hutt planets. He wanted men that he could trust, that he knew would protect him.

Hey, he had a right to keep the best stuff to himself, right?

Passing on his final design to the head of construction at Half Angel Inc, Xander stood up and strolled out into his shipyards. To be honest it was quiet, a few ships flying around and a small half finished frigate was hovered in one of the outdoor bays. Engine testing, he gathered. He moved up to one of the desk crews and asked for that frigate to be moved back into dock 1A9CDS, the place were all the Half Angel Frigates were built and shipped.

Saying that, they were producing number four of fourteen, though Xander was keeping one for his private fleet. He chuckled, walking into dock 2DC6DF. He chuckled, finding that the head of construction had already strapped the design to the wall and was now currently sending out orders to get some crew up there.

Yeah, this fleet would be expensive, but you know. He was making enough money to pump out at least three of these ships and still have enough to finish the fleet. That would be nice. Three cruisers, each rocking the new engines he had in development. All armed to the teeth, that'd be nice.

Speaking of the new engines Xander took a small hour walk across the shipyard to the testing facility. He wanted to see how his new engines were coming along. He knew they were going good when he walked in and smelt the smell of oil. He chuckled, walking over to one of the lab men.

The man informed him that the engine was going well. They had it pumping out speeds better than those that could be ordered in. For the best, really. Xander shrugged, making a mental note to go speak to Sempra about tying Kuat and Half Angel together, installing Half Engines into Kuat ships.

Well, one could dream.

He'd only been gone a month, working on hiring the first squad for his army. Scream Squad was shaping up to be a great little showing of his force, all he needed now was some ships. Anyway, he got the call to go and visit the first ship while it was about seventy percent finished, and he accepted.

When he arrived he didn't quite know what to expect. He wasn't quite sure how the heck they'd got the ship as finished as they had, but he wasn't complaining. The ship was docked in one of the outdoor docks when he arrived, and he watched some poor fellow climbing up and down some basic rope ladders lay down the side of the ship just to make it easy for people to get up and down.

Taking a small shuttle The Cowboy flew into the bottom of the ship, docking in the hanger down there. He was greeted by his head of construction, and he explained to the Cowboy the bottom doors would close once they finished the wiring to them. However, that was the least of his worries. The new Half Engine had gone in and they were slowly working on the testing phases for it. The engine started well and burned well, it just didn't seem to be as quiet as it should. They had guys working on it right now.

Okay, so a mental note that the engines were a little loud. Yeah, he'd get round to having a guy sort that when he could be bothered. Chuckling, he followed the head down some of the spacious corridors, lots unlike the Frigates. He chuckled, walking out of the elevator and onto the bridge.

Okay, so first, they had working lifts, nice. Second, this bridge was amazing. Clean, sparkling, leather chairs and a reclining captains chair. Granted there were wires everywhere from the electrics, and the captains chair was currently covered in wires and designs for the wiring to the computer that sorted the engine but Xander could ignore that. The huge view-screen looked amazing and to the side in a separate room was a fully working com station and a fully working holocomputer.

Just to the left was the captains room. Fully finished and fully furnished, Xander had the biggest and best room on the ship. He had been here only weeks before to decorate this room, and they had kept it as he left it. Such nice guys hey. He chuckled, thanking the head of construction before making his way back to his shuttle.

Only two and a quarter ships to go.

Walking into dock DYDF-1DF, The Cowboy watched as two small fighters were being brought online. The first in his line of publicly available ships. Basically a way of making money. He smiled, ducking from the room. The cruisers were still in effect, and Xander
watched as some thick Durasteel beams were being carried onto the ship.

To the left, a Half Frigate was being shipped out, the basic payment for the weapons currently being shipped in. Actually saying that, this army was eating his funds. The armor alone had basically drained him, the ships were not much better. Gotta love deals and stuff that supply you weapons though.

He smiled, nodding to a crew man running around. The Half Engine's were being sorted, and Xander assumed the guy was one of the engineers responsible. That or he just enjoyed dressing in white robes. Some people, actually most people didn't surprise Xander anymore.

Two weeks after his last visit to the shipyards, The Cowboy found himself actually working. He was on the cruiser, tightening in some bolts down in the engine room. He pulled a blue wire, strapping it to the correct port with every electricians best friend, duct tape. He then connected the wires properly, smiling.

He never expected to actually have to work on this ships, but stuff happened, yeah. He chuckled, knowing that most of his force were split building the other two of these ships. Part of him knew he was working his men to hard, but the other part couldn't care less. He may be a business man now, but deep down he was still a bounty hunter, still the Major Domo of the Hutts.

"Lately it seems as if it's me against the world"

To be honest, that was true. It was perfect for the Cowboy, and he chuckled as he connected another cable to another port. Removing a knife, he stripped the plastic back on one of the wires, connecting it to the other mass of wires he'd made. It wasn't the best wiring he'd ever done, not really, but it worked. He was working with limited space here, as he was making the corridors huge.
