SETTING INFORMATION

SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: The Paradox Complex
  • Classification: Headquarters for Criminal Activities Large 30 floor building that contains rent-able rooms
  • Location: Coruscant Floor 4120
  • Affiliation: Evelynn Ostium Evelynn Ostium
  • Accessibility: Visible to all in the area - Heavily traveled by the public
  • Description: The Paradox Complex has a large office building like appearance from the exterior, with purple Neo Lights shining the building's name. The main double doors open to a Reception styled area covering 3/4 of the bottom floor. Multiple lifts take customers to their rooms from the third to the 15th floor. From there, the floors are locked with an access pass needed to reach them. From there, the remaining building houses a variety of rooms with differing contents or purposes. The "official" lift ends at the 16th floor, with a different lift being used for the remaining building.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Reception: A large open area that is fitted with a desk for staff and customers to rent rooms, a waiting area with many chairs and small tables and lastly four lifts that go from the Reception to the 16th floor. The main doors are fitted with a scanning technology that scans for visible weapons or cybernetics. A security camera system outfitted along every floor scans for Law officials, Jedi or other people of significant threat or notice. The camera system houses a mixture of defensive systems that can fry, disconnect and even trace any hackers or hacking locations that breach it. The lifts are relatively average in size, with a single short corridor leading to them from the main area. A large screen showing a variety of adverts hangs along the waiting area. The reception desk is fitted with a computing console and defensive glass.

  • Rent-able Rooms 3-15 Floors: The rooms that the general public can rent contain either a 1 to 2 single beds, a double bed, with the inclusion of a sofa and small table opposite. The Double Beds are fitted with a extendable Screen that renters can watch shows on like any other home based device. There is an on suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink with mirror. A level of ventilation systems are present in all rooms and corridors to adjust at the customer's leisure. Each room can be customized to fit a Race's personal taste or conditions upon purchase. The doors are operable with a pass given upon purchase of stay.

  • Floor 16: This floor was remodeled into a guard-able area, inbuilt with extendable barricades, shields systems and rooms to house weapons and space for hired muscle. Whilst mostly in the way of a large foyer, the amount of barricades limit an assault on the floor to a single straight path to the lifts, allowing maximum levels of blaster fire to be focused on the thin point of attack.

  • Converted offices 17-26: The many rooms that go above the public access have been converted into rooms to house weapons, armors, contraband and many other Illegal items including SPICE. Each room is locked with a pass scanner and a finger print reader. These rooms have a variety of layouts, with either containers on pallets, boxes or even on racks for inspection. These products are brought up for buyers to inspect, each disarmed or encased in thick glass.

  • Statue room: This large room along the 27th floor houses tens of statues all in the appearance of different races. Each statue has a pose like they are mid fight, cowering or surrendering. Each statue looks highly realistic, until it is realized that each statue is a Carbonited person without being given a functional life support system in place. This is an effective way of hiding deceased persons on site. They are all the hidden victims of Evelynn who betrayed, disrespected or harmed her. There are still more pedestals that area empty for future displays.

  • Evelynn's Office / Viper's Office: At the 29th floor, behind a guarded double door, is the office of Evelynn Ostium, AKA 'Viper'. This room is her main office of dealings, work and even rest during her business hours. It is 50 ft in length with a large curved desk that a screen rests on. A few precious gems such as Azurite, a Sein Jewel and a single, Large Kyber Crystal are also present on the desk. A set of expensive chairs reside both behind and in front of the desk. Each one is colored a purple or violet tint, the same as the desk. Lining the walls are many cases and display cupboards, each holding trophies Evelynn has been given or taken. In particular she has cased: A Death trooper Helmet, a Rancor claw, a set of blaster pistols from a rival Crime Boss since killed and lastly, a Lightsaber with its crystal removed which resides on her desk. Hidden in the roof on either side of the desk, is two interior Automated Laser Cannon Turrets that activate upon Evelynn's command via her console screen or a small button under her desk. A side door leads to a separate room that contains a Wardrobe of many expensive suits and alternative clothes, an on-suite bathroom. The door is made of highly durable steel which can lock from the inside. The streets below are visible from a long single window that reaches from one end of the office to the other. This window is one way with only the interior being able to view the exterior.

SECURITY
High:
The Security level for this building is classified as High due to the scanning cameras, defensive turrets, armed personal and even defensive glass or barriers. The many locked doors also attribute to this fact. The building has a short range scanner for external threats, such as explosive devices, air-speeders or even weapon fire. Whilst this can be blocked or worked past, the building does house many Automated laser cannon turrets concealed in the roof of almost every floor. A wide system of cameras and anti-hacking devices block and exterior and even unauthorized interior access. Whilst the camera observation and systems in place along main areas and corridors are told to the patrons upon their purchase of a room, the defensive weapons are withheld from discussion.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
This building was originally a high classed Hotel for many of Coruscant's Businessmen and women. However, due to a lack of business along the decades, the place fell into disarray. It was picked up and bought by Evelynn's adoptive mother during the early years of her crime Syndicate's beginnings. Since then, it was designed to keep up its humble Hotel appearance, whilst the higher floors were repurposed for Syndicate activity. Whilst it featured low level defensive system in the form of cameras and barricades, since Evelynn took control she added one way glass, turrets and even finger print readers along certain floors. She even added to the office at the top of the building.

The main change she made was to add her "trophy room" or her "Statue Room". In this room, tens of carbonited people from many races are housed inside the room. Each of them are unable to be freed or revived, due to prolonged sealing and lack of life support attached. She can be found there clawing the statues, recounting her many victories or opposition removed. Each of the upper floors that are not accessible to the public are fulled with armed guards, hired muscle and a spare room hidden among the contraband filled rooms, that acts as a small office for her hacker.

Evelynn Ostium Evelynn Ostium , good afternoon! Before I dive too deep into this review, I noticed that the template you're using is for a City. However, looking over it, it reads more as a Structure. Please change the template of your submission to match the Generic Structure template that I've linked.

Once that's done, please give me a tag and I'll continue my review! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Evelynn Ostium Evelynn Ostium Yes, it's in the right format now, thank you very much! After reading through, I can't find anything odd or out of place so great job on that front. Also, that statue room is something else, definitely a unique way of repaying someone. Either pay, enjoy!
