Advanced Targeting Systems
Advanced Sensor Array
Advanced Deflector Shield Generator
Redundant Deflector Shield Generator
(+) The focus on advanced sensor arrays and targeting systems mean that the Ocelot aims to hit and when it hits… it hits hard.
(+) Advanced and redundant shields try its best to counteract heavy fire concentration on the installation itself.
(-) High barrel consolidation means that counterfire or chance can negate a massively disproportionate amount of firepower by disabling a single emplacement.
(-) Priority target means that it needs the backup of a fleet to be of any real use.
The Ocelot was created with the intention of solving a problem, said problem was the inherent lack of suitable orbital defense emplacements that threatened the integrity of planetary systems that do not have the capacity of fielding fleets for eternity, in this the Ocelot is a psychological tool rather than a weapon of mass destruction. Whilst a high consolidation of guns in one entity, military-grade sensors and heavy shield generators means that the offensive side of the orbital platform is well-rounded, the defensive side is lacking and needs proper back-up to function at its pique.
There is no hangar, meaning that the Ocelot cannot count on dedicated fighter squadrons to counteract possible fighter offensives, it relies solely on anti-missile octets and point defense guns for up and close engagements, which is more a tactic of delayment of annihilation than anything else. Pressor beams were acquired through intricate relationships with the Fringe Confederation and allows for moderate defense against possible boarders.
Fully automated systems and maintenance done by droids means that the sentient-part of the equation has been eliminated, targeting is done either via proxy or automatically through Neuro-Saav proprietary friend/foe systems.
The Ocelot is not capable of hyperspace travel and needs to be tugged into place, neither is it able to properly travel through real space. Though lined all across the hull are thrusters that allow precision corrections during combat-situations.
