Nar Shaddaa
Brave and stupid is what one would call his boy that stepped off the small freighter onto the landing platform on Nar Shaddaa. From Midvinter were life is vastly different to the rest of the galaxy for the most part, yet he would not look out of place no matter what he looked like or dressed in, no one would pay him any attention, not initially anyway. But for Vik, this was out of this world and he stood unable to move as his eyes look in everything at once overwhelming his senses and all of a sudden he was very afraid. What have I done ...
The freighter on which he traveled had already departed only stopping for fuel before moving on to the next destination so he had no means of turning around and get back to Midvinter. Not to mention he had not a credit to his name. He had bartered for passage as it was with what little he had, some small trickets that the crew saw value in so that was gone now too, Vik would soon learn how the galaxy worked, the hard way.
Eventually his feet found ability to move, walking in a circle with his eyes lifted to the skyline taking in the wonder of it all, but all of a sudden the tall building seemed to tower over his head bending toward him as if they would fall on his head, everything narrowed in his vision and pulled toward him, so he ran forgetting about his bag sitting on the surface of the platform, and found solace against a cold hard wall behind some freighter crates. He closed his eyes hoping for everything to go away, that he would wake up back on Midvinter in Averlorn safe in the shrouded mists.
"Hey you! What are you doing behind there!", came a hard gruff voice and some alien species Vik had no clue of what they were man handled him out by the arm, "Go on get out of here". A sharp push almost sent Vik to the ground. There was no argument in Vik, his face turned away so he did not have to look at the man and went to find his bag .. which .. had been stolen.
This was not a good start.
Vik shoved his hands in his pockets, kept his head down eyes to the ground and walked .. anywhere. He would not look up for fear of the overwhelming sensation returning and engulfing him again, he did not want to look anyone in the eyes. Where he was going he had no idea, it did not matter, and nothing around him he did not see for all he could focus on was his heart hitting hard against his chest and trying to control his breathing.
