Victoria, DosuunFirst Imperial Military Academy
The Academy sat along the Earl Bay with views that looked over the vast waters that surrounded it. It stood out as the key feature in Victoria, you saw it as you entered from Prosperia. Bright buildings with the First Order flag hoisted high for all to see, banners that boasted of graduating classes, fleets, armored divisions and fighter squadrons. Speeders flew overhead heading for the main square just as Fiolette Yvarro's speeder did, it came over the waters with ease and as the admiral looked out the transparisteel frame she could see the Promenade to her right and on her left the school of engineering. Smothered between it and the medical school were various other colleges, Law School, Science - oh the sciences she thought with a smile. Their buildings seemed to dot along the campus wherever they could.
Whilst the speeder turned she looked down and saw the command school, officer's school and many of the academy's main academic buildings. Dormitories, residential halls, on-campus apartments franchised cafes and the school's own cafeteria. Shifting her gaze forward she studied those aboard the speeder with her, cadets returning to class from Prosperia or Avalonia, perhaps even Finalizer City. Prospective cadets with their parents or sponsors looking in awe at the expansive academy, and it brought an even wider smile to Fiolette's face. She recalled bringing her daughter here for her first campus visit, and as the speeder approached the landing pad at the Engineering School the admiral rose to her feet.
Adjusting her tunic she pulled it down and smoothed out any wrinkles that might dare appear. Her silver and gold communications badge attached to the left side of her uniform just above the breast. Golden fibers embroidered at the end of either arm signified her rank, fleet admiral. Fiolette grabbed her staff from where it had been leaning against the speeder's frame. It was wooden with a singular sphere at the top and along the sides it read FIV RAE SLOANE, burned into the wood so that she would never forget her late flagship and the sacrifices that were made at Castameer. Hand atop the staff as she began to step out into the aisles, her free hand holding onto the fabric that dangled from above just as the speeder made its descent.
Within moments it had landed and with the boarding ramp lowered Fiolette made her way out, her hand guarding her eyes against the bright sun that seemed to shine directly on her. She took a step forward, wood against the metal grating of the landing pad, and step by step she began her descent from the landing pad down toward the ground. Duracrete beneath her feet as the speeder raised its ramp, and she continued toward the Engineering School. Where today she would be meeting with General [member="Suravi Teigra"] and Grand Admiral [member="Cyrus Tregessar"]. The topic of their meeting would be the Montague Program, the naval refit program and with war gripping their fleets time was of the essence as new projects were halted.
Halted so that the current state of the fleet could be analyzed and decisions could be made. As she crossed Sandiegra Plaza statues of a vessel arching toward the stars towered over providing shade and beside it a monument to those who had perished during the Ssi-Ruuk siege that not only gripped Avalonia but Victoria as well, and just as she approached the doors of the Engineering School she saw in the reflection the everlasting flame. The monument devoted to the students and faculty who lost their lives during the event, a monument to remind them all what the cost of their service would be.
The door hissed open and Fiolette crossed the threshold she greeted the front desk with a smile and headed for the turbolifts. The admiral had reserved a conference room that overlooked most of the school it was located on one of the top floors of the school where most of the school's faculty operated out of. First Order Corps of Imperial Engineers held a satellite office here as well and it was that office and conference room that Fiolette reserved. When the lift opened black carpet greeted her just the same as the dull silver walls that led to several offices. She crossed the floor and turned left to head for the conference room of her choosing. "Victory."
