DETAILED SPECIAL FEATURES

There’s really not much to say about The Messenger. It’s incredibly modular, considering everything but the bare essentials have been gutted and sold for scrap. And there’s also a lot of elbow room; plenty of crew and passenger quarters, and a frankly massive hangar.

Strengths:
  • [+] Armored Behemoth – While she may lack shields (see below), the Messenger somewhat makes up for that glaring weakness by having incredibly thick armor plating, capable of withstanding a great deal of punishment.

Weaknesses:
  • [-] Non-Existent Shields – The Messenger has no shields. There is a space in the engineering deck that appears to have at one point contained a shield generator, but that has been removed, either due to damage or because some scrap salvager needed a particularly fancy breakfast that day.
  • [-] At A Snail’s Pace – If one looked at the engines of the Messenger, one might conclude that her engines were made for a ship of about one third her mass. The Messenger moves at an achingly slow speed, and is capable of being outrun by almost any other craft of comparable or smaller size.
  • [-] Laughable Weapons Array – Two Words: Four Turbolasers.

Description: “Spaceworthy” is not the first word that comes to mind when one looks upon The Messenger, the capital ship and headquarters of the relatively small band of vigilantes known as The Vigil. Looks can be deceiving, but in this case, they’re pretty spot on; every successful launch or landing should be counted as a minor miracle, as this ship exists in a constant state of near-catastrophic disrepair. The Messenger can house 8,000 passengers comfortably, 300 crew (Although considering the utterly basic systems in the ship, a crew as low as 20 would suffice), and six starfighter squadrons (or comparable mix of other vehicles).
