I wish I never took the job.....

It was Luke that discovered the signal, while on a nearby supply run and repair job on the nearby 244Core. It was a simple job, fairly easy to manage. He only managed to by accident. The signal weak and on a frequency that wasn't being monitored, or paid attention to. In Wild Space, no one could hear you scream into the void. There was simply no one out there, unexplored planets and star systems forgotten by time and not dared to venture outwards, from the safety of hyperspace lanes and charted stars. It was sensible. Piracy was a concern out in Wild Space. But Luke knew otherwise.

There were some secrets, some terrors, that were better left alone in Wild Space.

In retrospect, he should've heeded his own warning. But the opportunity for exploration, for a better understanding of the region, and the ancient Old Republic station's message on repeat? It was too strange to ignore, too valuable in its historical value alone. The message was repeating over the speaker of the ship he was on, with a hastily-assembled crew of other Outer Flight members. Explorers, Scoundrels, Smugglers, Pilots and the like all aboard for the same purpose. He played the message over and over to himself, then finally put it on the speaker. The crew had gathered into the center area of their small ship, a place with a display, tables, crates to sit on, and a small kitchen. A good spot to discuss what they might be facing, or finding.

.......this is Dr. Nahl Orrek, recording from Deep Orbit Station Epsilon-9. We've reached the event, no readings make sense at all. Gravitational oscillations forming patterns, patterns that don't exist anywhere else. They're not random, they're...organized. Not random. Not random. Not like any other star system. It's pulling us. We sent probes into the anomaly. They were sent back, orderly, calmly. No readings. No data. Turned back kilometers from the anomaly below us.

I don't know what that means.

If anyone finds this......don't..... [SCREAM].....beneath us, the light bends around something.....like it's...... [signal distortion].....watching us...me.... Send immediate evac and Naval assets we need to.....

He took a deep breath, bouncing his leg up and down, nervously after playing the message. It was haunting, bewildering. Thousands of years later, and the broadcast either resumed, or was picked up on. He had heard of technology lasting this long, but something nagged at his mind. Like it was calling him, beckoning, or perhaps, luring him. And he didn't feel right exactly, that part of him knew it was a dangerous entity.

"Whatever this is, or was, could be dangerous, or, it could be a massive breakthrough in this region of space to better understand it. That being said-" Luke took a deep breath, leaning into his hand that was resting on the elbow of the chair he was sitting on.

"We should all be aware of the risks associated with this. And we should also be prepared to leave at a moment's notice, if need be. After we talk this over here, I can start preparing our survival gear and other equipment I brought with me for this mission- if we're still willing to go."
