Makatak, the unknown regions

The shuttle shook violently as it came into the atmosphere and dived down towards the tropical islands, ones of which were baron of civilization and deprived of any activity. Makatak was a planet littered with many small islands and a bright blue sea that only seemed to go on forever. None the less, life still found a way to settle here. A makatak tribe lay claim to most of the islands on the planet, even though they were so low in numbers they barely had any opposition to go against them. None the less, Calruss still had to respect their land and treat them with the utmost respect. Suddenly, the ship finally broke through the ether of the bright sky and stabilized into a calm descent "We're a few minutes away from arrival... and it appears we already have some watchers" the pilot said as he zoomed into the large group of tribesman that gathered along the beach of the biggest island on the planet. Calruss looked up from his datapad and nodded slowly in confirmation, almost as if he was expecting it to happen "Set us down there, they have been expecting us" Calruss replied, knowing they had seen them appear from one of their small space stations that hugged the atmosphere. Considering their tribal ideology, they still looked ahead of their time, but still primitive compared to the might of the Eternal Empire.

Carefully, the shuttle dropped down onto the yellow sands and came to a halt in front of the gathering crowd of tribesmen, some of which wielded guns to protect the person they looked up to. In front of all of them was the elder, who sat on a finely crafted wooden thrown before his subjects. Surrounding him on either side was a row of warriors, each one of them carrying a weapon that had similarities to the powerful bowcaster. They stared coldly as the teen walked his way down the ramp before stopping at the bottom, before waving forward his crewman from the ship. The co-pilot slowly came down in a hover forklift, carrying a large container of multi-use batteries in offering for their safe passage on the planet. Calruss stared at the elder expressionless as the shipment was placed beside him to inspect, his head quickly peaking inside before backing out and waving his subjects to take it away nonchalantly. Using a lift of their own, they swiftly took it away and headed towards the huge metallic doors hidden away in the tree line.

"What brings you here boy" the elder Rakatan said with authority as he leaned back in his throne, staring straight at the teen with a no-nonsense expression. Calruss slowly lowered his head out of respect to the elder and offered his reasoning "I seek the holocron..." Calruss said straight to the point, making some of the crowd gasp slightly from the fact outsiders were trying to obtain its secrets once more. The elder lifted his hand to shush the crowd and leaned forward out of his thrown "I see, many people like you have tried to obtain the Holocron. Yet all of them failed to return alive" he warned to the teen, a small grin appearing on the side of his lips as he leaned back in his chair "And now a mere boy dares to test his fate? I'm afraid you're only going to your death" he ended, his hands slowly interlocking in concentration as he kept his gaze on the outsider. Calruss let out a small sigh to his stark warnings but chose to keep his words noted "Thank you for your concern, but I doubt dying in a cave will be my end" he replied without fear as he turned to his pilots to prep the ship. The elder nodded slowly in deep thought and stood up "Then I hope I'm wrong boy... even so, you may travel safely around my lands with my blessing. Now please, leave in peace" ordered the tribesmen without a second thought, his hand lifting to wave them off. Calruss slowly lowered his head out of respect once more before taking his leave in the shuttle. They quickly left the Elder and his people to their own devices as they quickly glided along the water towards the cave entrance.

It didn't take long for the shuttle to reach their destination, which provided a smaller island covered in jungle-like trees. The pilots found a clearing in the tall jungle and landed safely at the bottom, leaving Calruss to make his way to the cave entrance "Remember, the same place in an hour" shouted one of the pilots from the ramp as they began to lift upwards from the leaf-covered ground. Calruss looked at him in the corner of his eye and raised a hand to indicate that he understood, before beginning to head away into the dense brush. Using the datapad he stored in his backpack, he navigated his way through the greenery and stood before a large rocky clearing. In front of him stood a cave, the same cave that blocked his clear path to the objective. If it was more challenging than the Elder described it to be, it was sure going to be a long day...

The cave was damp and dark.
Were it not for the glowrod which emanated a sickly yellow light, Rhia would not have been able to see at all. Others might have, used the tiny pinpricks of light to see past the dark, but for one such as she that was impossible. The night brought true darkness, and so too did places like these. Thankfully she had learned how to sense, to see through the Force, but it was nice to actually use her eyes. Hence the rod.
Though she tried her best to be light of foot, each step she took slapped against the ground which was wet with humidity. Deeper in perhaps she might find a more drier surface, for now she'd have to deal with the echoes. Far from ideal, who knew what lay within. But it was all she could do for now.
This trial she'd been set upon sounded simple enough on paper, but she knew that it was far from it. Did those who had sent her? Did they not realize the difficulties faced before her, a mere Padawan? She inhaled and cleared her mind. It didn't matter. She would go as far as she could, and if she failed... Well, then she failed. She was not so proud as to let that failure spell the end of her existence. There was no threat to lives, no sacrifice which had to be made.
This was all for a Holocron.
She would not die for a Holocron.
