After her desperate struggles over Bestine IV, Flight Lieutenant Poy Luroon was being sent back to the planet, on the orders of her Commanding Officer, to perform reconnaissance flights over the next two days to try and take photographs of a prototype ship that was being developed under the highest secrecy. It was just starting to turn in to morning when Poy wandered down into the hangar, and looked at her T-65XJ X-Wing. They had been through some tough spots in the past, and she knew that they would come through this encounter too.
"Good luck Flight Lieutenant." said her Commanding Officer, shaking her hand and wishing her the best. She climbed into the cockpit and strapped herself into the seat. For this mission, they had fitted a reconnaissance package - that is, four high speed camera pointing downwards. The data received would be sent back to the battle carrier, and interpreted by the Intelligence Officers. R2-Q2 was already in position behind the cockpit - this was his first reconnaissance mission with the Alliance and he beeped that he was excited about it.
They had also outfitted the T-65XJ with deflector shields just for this purpose, so she would show up as being invisible to the enemy's radar, allowing the Twi'lek to fly unhindered over the shipyards. "Don't get too excited Ar-Que. We'll have to go down really low to get some good shots of this ship that they are building on Bestine IV. I just have to hope we don't attract any unwanted attention from fighters," it would become one of the most dangerous sorties of her Navy career. Taking a deep breath, the cockpit locked into place and she started up.
Poy took the X-Wing to the end of the catapult corridor and heard the arresting gear crews locking her craft into place. The Catapult Officer saluted her and signalled that she was ready for take-off. Ramping the twin engines up to full power, the catapult shot her down the corridor and out into space. She input the direction into her computer and had a precise ETA of when she should be arriving over the yard and at what height.
